Overall I do like the fact the engines are closer but ONE little thing I found out (and I'll maybe find more tid bits) is the engine nacelle pods on the top and the fuselage angle is supposed to be all lined up. The Bandai doesnt line up all together as far as I see.  Well its a minor complain but It will NOT be a deal breaker for me. I will buy this for sure.

  2. Just an update, after returning the item back Amiami, I got the refunded but unfortantely due to the yen exchange rate I lost about $15.00. However my shipment from Hobby Search came and they pre-opened the box to make sure it was not a defect. Im glad Hobby search actually Bubble Wrapped and paper wrapthe SV51 box instead of Amiami that tossed it in the paper wraps. Going forward, I'll use hobby search for my high end orders.

  3. Just an update from me, I ended up returning the defective Sv51 back to AmiAmi. Instead I noticed Hobby Search has them in stock and I emailed them the condition.  Hobby Search said they got the new corrected batch in so they will inspect it for me and ship the new one. So thus I ordered one from them.

  4. Just got word from Amiami. Here is what they had to say:

Hello. Thank you for waiting. We have confirmed the current situation with our staff and currently we are still waiting to hear back from the maker regarding the replacement parts and whether we can receive them or not. Please note that we do not know how long it will take to confirm or receive the parts. As the maker is planning on releasing an updated version of the figure without the defect, one option would be to purchase the item later with the refunded money. Unfortunately, currently as of September 24, 2019, the only assistance we can provide is a return for a refund for the item. Please let us know how you would like to proceed. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for shopping at AmiAmi. Best wishes, AmiAmi

When I look at mine I think those parts are unpainted plastic with matte finish. I don't know, but as the coat contains acrylates I hope it does not work like superglue. It maybe hard to remove it without damaging the surface if possible at all?!

Use cleae enamel nail polish on the joint instead.

Hopefully the “if” in the response favors you.

Who knows how many Arcadia will have to replace.

Yeah its a big if indeed. Amiami is huge in Japan and it would makes sense for them to get support from any manufacturer. It puzzled me why they at first were hesistant to get support when all the other stores were doing it.

Latest email from HLJ says they expect replacement stock in mid October.

Hrmm.. I wonder if its just best to return my Amiami one and take a chance to order from HLJ if they do get it in stock...currently Amiami hasnt replied back to me after I asked if they can work it out with Arcadia to get replacement parts or a non-defective item later.

Hi, could I cfm that my model, if looked from above fighter mode, has a slight ankle tilt to the right at the right exhaust, it is indicative of a defective leg model?

If you ankles look like this picture in Jet mode from the top view, its correct.

so, whats really the distribution of bad ankle joints? did they say when they think the bad batch started?

mine was shipped from AmiAmi around 9/3.  upon inspection I lucked out and L/R ankles are ok on mine.  My BIL's from NY is inbound and he hasn't received his yet to check..

I have no idea on what the ratio of the defective product is, but my friend and I ordered via Amiami and we both had the defective leg models.

Mine is on its way back to Ami Ami. They told me a full refund would be given once recieved. They also said they would refund me the return shipping cost, as long as it was under 10,000 yen and had tracking.

Yep pretty much the same email I got from Amiami. Honestly I rather get a corrected product in exchange from them because I really doubt how its going to be possible to buy this again without knowing its a defect unless the retailer gets the right ones from Arcadia again. So with that said, I emailed amiami the twitter post by Arcadia about them correcting the issue if Amiami can obtain the corrected model. *crosses fingers

    Wow Amiami is the best.

I purchase from AmiAmi, but the email I got from them was I ship the item back, get reimbursed for shipping costs, and once the item is back in their warehouse then I get a full refund. They did not mention about any parts replacements nor product replacements or even when.
