Anime export still allows for pre orders, so can people still pre order them and get it? Lucky I ordered one set earlier from them

Well if they already locked down a set of stock then it should be fine. The problem is if they're just letting their order page run and planned to order them later.

Hi guys, just noticed on the Pbandai site for the strike/super packs are saying 0 stock, meaning thats it, no more? I thought TWE are made to order?

Just emailes my proxy if they were able to get my order for 2x.

They make as many as are ordered but there's an upper limit to how many the factory can produce which sets the cut off limit.

Granted if things sell out this fast they'll probably do a second order run, but those poor saps won't get them until waaaay later when the factory has time again.

  3. The Premium Bandai website says they are all sold out of Strike packs, so unless someone cancels that looks like that's it for orders for now.

For a PB item that went by faaaaaast, took less that 2 hours from when they opened orders.12.PNG.7f2fcc4cdc361dfa113f1a7304cad382.PNGi

We should complain to shoji and Bandai.

I understand that producing more high valks takes up factory but it’s like the iPhone.  It wasn’t Apple’s bread and butter.  But it sold.  Even though it was so expensive compared to the competition.  So Apple now gets 60% of its revenue from iPhone sales(I saw that on the news, don’t quote me).

How many full shelves  of Hg and Mg and rg and pg gundams have you seen at plenty of stores?  Is that stuff flying off the shelves?  And when they have a popular model kit or toy figure they reissue those quite often.  Even less popular robots get rereleased.

    it doesn’t make sense

There is a huge difference in manufacturing plastic model kits, which Bandai does themselves in Japan and the toys division that does the majority of the manufacturing in China.  Given the standards they hold the product to, there is probably a lot of rejected stock.  The profit margins on the toy division is probably a fraction of the profit on the model kits.

This, Gunpla and Tamashii Nations are two completely different divisions with different standards of practice, factories and rules.

Not reproducing products is cool for collectors but not when you can't get one to begin with.

The whole EVA reproduction seems to be the only exception I can see, so unless we can get Kawamori to complain and make a fuss I don't see anything changing without a serious management shake up.

What I don't get is that is exactly what preorders are for.  To gauge interest.  I have a hard time believing the parts have already been manufactured and they can't set a number based on how fast preorders sold out.  VF-1S doesn't ship until November.

That's a really good point. Anyone got an answer?

I mean the planning team makes the figure, Marketing contacts local stores and decides the quantity, and then development places the final order number based on what their told. So quantities are set waaaay in advance, and there are still going to be huge lines on open day for that shelf stock anyway.

Pre ordering this far in advance seems pointless.

The Valkyrie is a regular release while the Strike/Super Packs are Tamashii Web Exclusive release.

Though I'm not sure if the SSP will go live at the same time as the Valkyrie.

    Valkyrie June 3rd

    SSP June 7th

  7. It specifies that there are interchangeable logo parts, Red for Hikaru, Black for Focker, Blue for Max and Green for Kakizaki. And that the parts will be compatible with other VF-1 releases.

Also VF-1S is a normal in store purchase (Amazon etc.) and the Strike / Super parts are a Premium Bandai exclusive.

That’s what I thought when Bandai announced first run exclusive stand.  I thought they’d have a regular release without the stand.  They also did it on the shfiguarts vader.

Unfortunately it's too early for them to do a re-release. Instead we'll be getting shiny new Valks for a while.

Rumor has it there'll be something new displayed at either the Cross over Live or Kawamori EXPO

    I spy a VF-31E :)

I'm pretty sure that's the same one they displayed at the M-Tama event and at the Bakuonsai movie event. So far it seems there's just one pre production model floating all over the place

Bandai's Tamashi line is chock full of re-issues this quarter. Most are Patlabor. The even skipped to the lesser known Techno Police(Bubblegum Crisis' spiritual inspiration) so who knows when the next Macross mechs comes up?

Wait what? Bandai is doing Patlabors this quarter?! Link please

I realize I might be barking up the wrong tree, seeing that most of the members here don't live in Japan, but... anyone know any other avenues for getting tickets? A friend and I entered the lottery but we were unsuccessful.

Buying event tickets on the secondary market in Japan is difficult to say the least, and is generally frowned upon and will soon be illegal (as of June 8th of this year).

    Fingers crossed!

At this point the secondary markets you're only option.
The first and second lotteries have finished and there aren't anymore performances.

Otherwise try to get a part time job working the venue? lol

As for communicating with Bandai, doesn't hurt. Maybe they will listen like they did with MB Eva but in the end, it will be about their own bottom line to make that decision and no matter how we feel about it, Macross doesn't have much financial pull in the retail world compared to a lot of other properties that Bandai produces.

They're hoping to open up the market once the rights come back to BW. Right now they aren't legally allowed to distribute overseas so all you get is scalpers and resales.

does anyone have a feeling the dx chogokin vf-1 series is either a passion project or a strategic move?

looking at this thing in hand, there is no way this can be more profitable than their normal dx chogokin valkyries.  everything about it screams "this cost more to make than a vf-31".  sure the design is simpler, but design is a "one time" cost and not a running cost.  yet they release this thing at an msrp of less than  a typical dx chogokin.  delta was super popular (at least in japan is my impressin) so they coul djust keep cranking those variants out for years and nobody would have blinked if they never made these.  perhaps bandai just saw an opportunity to supplant arcadia using their economies of scale to produce a bigger better product at a cheaper cost?  sure they will nickel and dime us for the add on parts...but they aren't strictly necessary.

Passion project, the dude in charge of DX Chogokin right now at Bandai is a super old school fan who's always trying to sneak through the stuff he personally wants.

Yup, and you came back at the right time. There is a new set of events for New Years that are going to give a bit of free stuff.

Oh damn, Time to start logging in. Hate to miss out on the freebies

  15. I'm up here in Tokyo so I'm going to be joining the hordes lining up on the streets of Akihabara Tomorrow

Also BANDAI just put out a shortened version of their video, nothing new except a few new pictures from the manual but hey! pictures from the manual right?

Also I don't know how to post links >.<
