From now on, expect that from NY on new and upcoming releases. Whether it's regular or premium releases. Like most of us here say, NY somehow offers some items lower PO than the other stores but always consider the shipping charge afterwards. So even though they have the shipping calculator in hand, treat that as an estimate from now on and not the actual cost to help for your budget and helps to decide where to buy. Just don't expect good customer service from them. And not just from them specifically. All the online Japan stores. Even if you hear HLJ has good customer service compared to them, but lately it's not the same anymore. Just my 2 cents.
It a pricing gimmick. Price the item lower than your competitors but make up the difference from shipping charge. Also, NY's shipping calculator is mostly a joke, and their combine shipping feature a bad joke. Unfortunately for overseas collectors, there aren't much choice beside NY and 1 or 2 others for web exclusive items.

NY just shipped my super parts, after I paid the
extortion feeextra shipping charge. -
Oh great! NY did it again. Additional shipping charge request for the super parts

I ordered two sets of 31J super parts (one set is for Scream Man) but NY has so far only shipped out one set rather than combining them both together. I did order them a few weeks apart as but I would have thought they would have shipped them out together considering the shipping method is the very same for each. I guess they are just running through their orders in numerical order which is most likely why one set went first and the other is still in order prep. A little annoying but what can you do..
Strange. Did you opt for combined-shipping?

Maybe they found a forgotten cache in their warehouse, just like HLJ did

I did buy a 4th 31J just to fit the supers on it after all!
That sounds more like Spanner

Same here. Hopefully improvements (if any) won't come with increase cost, but that seems highly unlikely.

Never use NY's conversation rate! It's another way of topping up their profits, on top of their over-priced shipping rates gimmick

maybe they screwed up on the Hikaru pricing and need to make up for it with Roy
I'm thinking that might be the reason lol

I'm tempted to see if I can pick up a few for more TV-style missiles, and maybe customize a bit. I know they're going for the look of his VF-31 scheme, but the pattern on the chestplate and back is kind of a mess, and nothing will line up if you change the sweep of the wings.
Is this going to be a general release, or webshop exclusive? I'd probably grab 3 of them if I can.
According to Tamashii website, it is a normal release. However, the MSRP is over 1000yen more than the VF-1A and 1J. Using google translate, it seems there might be a stand included.

Both my spartans arrived today.
First thing I felt right out of the box is the weight of the toy. Oh the weight! That's so much more die-cast parts. I don't have a weighting scale, but comparing the spartan with my HMR Vf-1A, the spartan felt about 3 times heavier.
Then there's the articulations. So much articulations everywhere, especially the arms. Even the mini turret (the one that looks like an IR sensor) can turn.
Love the color and finishing. And the pop-out missiles gimmicks for the shoulder missiles bays.
Enough for now. Back to playing the toy. Glad I got 3 of them.
