Fresh sealed Yamato SDF-1 Assembly Kit version. Not for personal collection though, it's for sale.
I'm happy with the regular toy.

Thanks ! It should be feasible. What you can't see in the screenshots is that the model has been built modular. The bow for example is made out of 4 parts and so on.
You would build part for part and then connect them along the way. It's just going to be pricey tp purchase all the required parts.
Here is the link to the SDF-1 that inspired me to build my own: https://youtu.be/cI_AmjF1NQ8

Two years ago, in 2015, a video of a LEGO SDF-1 on Youtube, inspired me to build my own version from scratch.
The build started in LDD (LEGO Digital Designer) which took roughly one year.
In 2016 I started to acquire all the needed parts for the build.
The build was completed in February 2017.
Build time: 2 years
Bricks: approx. 11.000
Length: 43.3 inches or 1.1 meters
weight: approx 33lbs or 1kg
Does it transform ?: No
And here are pictures of the completed SDF-1.

The 1/2000 SDF-1 looks just amazing. I have the 1/3000 toy and a sealed assembly kit. I'd love to mod the toy but am afraid of ruining it.
