  1. Very cool.

Have you tried to fit the battroid vb-6 into detolf?

I have to yamato vb-6s and the battroid can only stand in my desk.

We have now had a chance to settle into our new house and I have set up my detolfs with part of my wife and I's collection (think I need 2 more!)

    VB-6 shelf

My Pride and joy! My VB-6 SP Version with some VF-100's for scale

(warning VF-100's are TERRIBLE toys! They look cool for their size but damn they are annoying to transform)

    Frontier shelf

Just Luca + ghost and Brera for now. I have the rest of the SMS V1 VF-25 but until I get some fishing line they don' fit properly yet. I may have to do 2 shelfs when I get more detolfs

    Plus shelf

    Isamu and Guld

I love the CMS figure of Isumu. "Forget it, In his mind, He's already flying..." - Lucy

    7 shelf

Miria and Gamlin VF-22s. Still yet to get the Max, haven't found one for the right price.

Bought the Miria from Mandarake for 8000yen opened. When I took her out to put on display there was still the factory plastic on her legs when I transformed her, never been transformed and tight as the day it was built. Very happy with that buy!

    M&M shelf

Max and Miria Queadluun-Rau with CMS pilot figures. M&M keychans and Mint V1 Max VF-1J Super Pack in the background

As many here do, I have a bit of an obsession with Max and Miria. It's just such an awesome story and they are such cool characters.

I'll likely end up with en entire detolf dedicated to M&M one day

    Figures shelf

Our collection of cool Macross figures

Notice the mint Miria collection in the back that I got for 1500yen!

    SDF shelf

Foker VF-1s and Max and Miria Robotech Masterpiece.

The VF-1s is the first macross toy I ever purchased.

I know the Robotech MPC are not as good as the Yamato stuff, but they are are just so cool as mint display pieces. They will never leave the box anyway.

    Ghibli Shelf

Some of our favorite Ghibli collectables and model kits On Top

Iron man, Bahamut, Miku, Alduin and most notably for macross the Ichiban Kuji frontier mecha collection

    Other stuff

Some of my other misc collectables

EDIT: sorry it appears I have taken some of the shots a bit blurry, I'll replace them with clear ones when get home

  2. Getting a little OT, but it seems that a lot of us have daughters instead of sons. I have an 8 year old going on 9 daughter too. While she likes Macross (especially Mylene, Ranka and Sheryl), she's not really into the valks (unless its Mylene's of course).

On one hand, I think that's a good thing because at least, I don't have to have an extra budget to get valks specifically for her (like Spanner does for his son). On the other hand, I feel sad because I won't be able to pass down my valks to her (she'll probably just end up selling them).

I sobbed little bit reading the last sentence.
  3. Interesting to see so many fathers with daughters here. I have a 9 month old myself, and already I am worried if I should ever expose her to my hobbies.

There's no doubt that she will see my collection one day, but it'd be nice to be able to share it with her, since my wife isn't very interested in my collection.

On the other hand.. I don't think I would want to subject her to such a slippery slope.. ever....

You never know. At least a room full of robots is better than one of barbies, IMHO.

  4. This is really comforting. Maybe IU should buy a chogokin Hello Kitty just for future use. Or 2 of them.

I have 8 and 10 year old girls and they love my Macross, Transformers and Gundam collection. They watch all the anime with me which I make sure is kid appropriate. My ten year old already built her own GUNPLA 2 years ago. They also love the usual girly stuff like My Little Pony and Disney Princess..etc. I let them play with the Hello Kitty Chogokin its perfect for them. Every time I get a package in the mail they are excited to see what new action figure or model it is (unlike my wife :D ). They will be excited when they see the VF-19 Advance come in. And they are total Ranka fans. So girls and robots? It's possible :) .

  5. Now I am jealous of your son...........................And you......

I have a little daughter and expecting another daughter this June. Will girls love robots? I have mixed feelings about this.

well truth be told only 1 of those 3 is actually mine.. 1 is for my son and the other is for another MWF member!

  6. Thanks for the advice.

You will have a few more chances to secure one at retail after release. If that fails, you could always go back to ebay.

Well if 3 becomes too many for you you can always dump one to me.

This listing looks fairly reasonably priced and the seller has quite a good feedback record even if he has 16 negs over the last 12 months.. His positive feedback easily outnumbers the negs by 283 to 1.

I know many people are a little wary regarding PO's on ebay but I think Paypals buyer protection changed a while back to better accommodate situations such as these.

He has the release date clearly stated in the item listing so the powers that be at ebay and paypal would be able to see that even if they edit the listing down the track.

I currently have a PO through ebay pending at the moment, ok so its not quite as expensive as a VF-19 but I can't say that im overly concerned about it..

Im sure if worse came to worse and the PO fell through that you'd get your money back one way or another. If I didn't already have 3x VF-19 on PO I'd probably give ebay a go!

  7. Totally agree with you. When I first saw it I said ok another low viz. but the box was kinda confusing

That is the 1:48 Low Visibility put into the wrong box:http://anymoon.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/148-Low-Vis-2.jpghttp://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10031720It was a "limited edition" but was available as a general release. It is currently rather hard to find, but they don't seems to go up to crazy price on ebay in recent months, e.g.:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Macross-1-48-VF-1A-Low-Visibility-Color-Limited-Edition-Ver-1-Robotech-/331365520059
