I'll never understand why is so hard for Japan to make an anime with mature characters dealing with adult situations instead of teenagers saving the world all the time.
It's hard to take you seriously when the very first Macross starred a 16 year old boy and girl that save the world. If you want more mature anime then you should look outside of anime geared specifically towards teenagers.

So nothing about non-SDF Hi-metal figures? Damn.

For a forum made up of 30+ something men you guys sure act immature when it comes to your japanese robot cartoons.

No, that's a giant seat belt.
I'll just assume that was supposed to be a joke of some kind.

So, no EX-gear?
Forget Valkyrie squadron, we need Razgaiz squadron up in here.
It does have EX-gear. You can see the shoulder armor for it in the cockpit.

I really hope we see a VF-30. The -31 is both too different from the 30 and too much like the 25/29. I really just wanted a slightly tweaked YF-30. Just a few little things could have made it amazing.
But it is a slightly tweaked YF-30.

I don't know... they are feeling... Betrayed? The rant is epic in the community
You can't betray a fanbase you never cared about in the first place.

I'm getting two impressions from the few pics here.
1) this will be VERY popular with the teen girls
2) I have ZERO interest in something that is VERY popular with teen girls.
But you already like Macross so it's too late for that, old man.

Yet another SDF/DYRL mecha.

Are the chest doors supposed to open like that or is that a design flaw?

Any info on where the YF-30 stores it's assault knife?

My mistake. I misread the mounting points for the super packs as missile hardpoints. Still that seems rather odd it can't carry any missiles without a pack...
-
This question is about the VF-11 line. I know the C model has a somewhat unofficial internal missile bay in the legs but where are the missiles usually mounted? The Macross Mecha site mentions it has hardpoints near the wings but I've never seen any art or in game models of the VF-11 with wing mounted missiles, not even the very detailed Macross 30 game. Does anyone have art of the VF-11 with missiles?

I'll support it when they make something worth buying. I'm not wasting what little cash I have on countless VF-1 repaints.

They tried the other valks with the VF100 line... failed...
Pretty sure that's because the VF100s were hot garbage.

Glaug confirmed as the next release from the hidden Zentradi text on the official Regult page.
http://tamashii.jp/special/hi-metal_r/regult/
It says "Next Item Glaug".
After reading the page, I actually regret not preordering it as the toy was actually supervised by Miyatake Katsutaka.
I guess I'll just wait for stock upon release, no biggie.
So I guess this line is SDF/DYRL only then? What a waste.

You sure it's not this? j/k
I'm one of those that missed the VF-4G the first time so I'll be happy if it is released.
edit: Someone did a good job of blurring the pixelated photo on the facebook page. I tried the same thing and got this:
Booo, so it actually is a VF-4? I was hoping for a Star Mirage.
-
Almost looks like a white VF-5000.
-
Only VF-1? Boring.
-
VF-25
VF-22
VF-19
VF-11
and VF-17
-
You got the first two. The rest are all wrong.
So you didn't actually watch the show then. Okay.

I'm a lot younger than most of you guys (some of you even have grandkids or something? Haha) so I didn't learn of Macross from Robotech, instead I discovered it from playing a translation of Super Robot Wars Alpha Gaiden on PS1. I saw the VF-1 and YF-19 in action and thought they looked so amazing with their missiles and high speed maneuvers.
So eventually I watched a stream of SDF then 7 and I ended up loving the Macross franchise more than Gundam. I seriously love this series and all it has to offer, well except for Zero. That was just...bad. Anyway I'm really looking forward to what fun things Delta will do and hope this series will continue on forever.

I know it's a classic but it doesn't mean it's a flawless design. It can look pretty ugly from a lot of angles. Like the rear section hanging off the back in fighter mode.

You'll always have Robotech.
