If you don't know it's a bootleg, how can you say in your original post, "obviously a bootleg"?
That's what I get for posting on painkillers: I meant to say "probably a bootleg".

Honestly I don't know if it's a boot; it's why I asking here.

Can anyone give me a quick tip on how to mount all 4 missile pods on the wings of the v2 valks? If I put one on, it's impossible to get the right angle to get the other....

Bump, any 1/60 strike pack, loose is fine.

I thought we were getting super parts and armor parts this year anyway. I need super parts! haha
This. A thousand times this. There are many places where they are asking for a 600% or more markup for them!

Another question, is strike armor interchangeable between v1 and v2 yamato toys?

Title says it all

Q: what a fair price for yamato v1 1/60 any variant? I'm seeing around $100 seems about the common asking, more for super models.

So... first post in six years.
I have gotten on a Macross hitch again and finally watched the orginal series and am rewatching Seven (love the characters, hate Chie Kajiura's singing and the directing)...
I always wanted a toy Valkyrie, but I have to wonder, is this newest incarnation of the VF-1 the Best Valkyrie Toy Ever?
I live in Japan but even I can't seem to find a discount, so is it really worth $170 dollars?
*please forgive the noobie for any opinion/factual mistakes*
My quick take because i just bought an Arcadia Hikaru (first toy in 30 years). After a ton of research I found that the Yamato/Arcadia v2 1/60 is generally considered to be the best (though some prefer the 1/48) given that getting a Yamato in the secondary market is around 130 USD, going to 160-ish for the arcadia isn't really a stretch. Also, IMO the stand is really nice and provides a storage area for all the extra bits that might get lost. In addition, the Arcadia comes with the "option" parts that did not come with previous Yamato releases (side and top covers and that extra pilot seat to simulate the pilot opening in battroid).
The bottom line for me was that I could have spend way less for a 1/55 chunky or the like but in the end the articulation and quality of the Arcadia toy is amazing to me, and I don't regret the extra bucks.

Quick question: I got my Arcadia hikaru today and noticed that it has both waterside decals and stickers, what the pros/cons of using one or the other?
-
Awww and I have lowered my price to $170... oh well.
But if it's Hikaru that you want which I haven't got but maybe you will want a Roy later?
Yeah, definitely want the hikaru - anything else wouldn't be the same to me. The end sequence of DYRL was my fave and my chunky from my youth was a skyfire gen 1, so this one takes me back to when I was 5. Worth every penny to remember a simpler time when a toy could make you so happy.

Found a dent box Arcadia Hikaru on AmiAmi for 12960 ordered it, seems like people are paying around 4000 for shipping there so i guess about 165-ish usd. Not bad.

I just bought it.

So, continuing my research I find that a DYRL 1s hikaru goes around 200 from Arcadia or a leftover Yamato. I can't seem to find strike packs for less than 200 either, which is WAY expensive. Also the two things packaged together seem to go for 450+ on Amazon or eBay.
At this point I'm thinking the best strategy is to get the 1S now and hope that Arcadia issues strike packs for something reasonable (I'm assuming they were originally sold for around $50) also assuming that the Arcadia strike parts will work for a Yamato v2
Otherwise the only other outlet for for a strike 1s is a 1/100 toynami, though I can get a series 3 set for $100 (3 different valks)
Please forgive any extraneous information as I am new

Hi, first post. I've been doing some reading in the form for a bit.
Some background: I was about 5 when I last had a old school chunky monkey Valk. Recently, I thought it would be nice to obtain a new one for my desk. A lot of internet research later I discovered how nice the toys had become, and also how incredibly expensive too.
I originally wanted a match for the DYRL VF-1s from the end of the movie, but I've found the 1/60 version going for $500 on eBay!
So I guess settling for the "mass production" or generic is fine, but even that is really pricey!
So, I guess my question is where does one find a "reasonable price"?
