  1. So yeah, if it's climate controlled and dry... you're doing all you can do.

The rest is in the hands of the chaos gods. (chemistry)

Well, not climate controlled, but an SF east bay garage doesn't really see temps below 40 or above 90. Our climate is very arid so moisture isn't really a concern. Same reasons why cars live forever here.

  2. Just to clarify, the ceiling is sheet rocked, no insulation, walls are also finished, unknown if insulated. temps are actually quite reasonable, probably high 80s at worst, no sunlight. Seems like not a good idea, any more input? Anyone have valks in a house with no a/c?

  3. Couldn't find this in a search and got no love in the newbie thread.

Are there any issues displaying valks in a garage? No direct sunlight but would get hot/cold. This is a California garage, so no real extreme temps except heat. The garage has finished walls and ceiling. Worried about yellowing primarily.

  4. Watch again, Hikaru uses them in an episode.

Episode 16 Hikaru gets shot down. Episode 18 Roy dies. Episode 19 Hikaru takes over Roy's 1s. Episode 24 the FAST packs are introduced. AFAIK Hikaru never pilots a 1J again. Where did he pilot a 1J with FAST packs?

  5. So, this has been nagging at me for awhile. Why does a lot of vf-1j hikaru toys come with super parts? The 1-j only ever appeared in SDFM with GBP-1 parts; we don't see FAST packs until after Hikaru gets shot down and takes over Roy's 1-s....

  6. Sorry if this has been discussed to death, but I searched and didn't find anything.

I've been looking at 1/72 fighter kits and it seems like hasegawa and bandai are the two readily available ones. Excluding transforming ones, which is generally considered better? I know it's subjective, but some criteria I'm looking at is sculpt, ease of assembly, quality, etc.

My background: I used to model quite a bit in my teens, mostly 'trek. Haven't in a long time, so I've got some simple cheap kits to practice on before I try a valk.

    Thanks!

  7. Valkfighter, thanks for the pics! Quick question; is there a way to lock the backpack down with the super packs on? If you fold the tail down, you can push the pack to a locked position, but that's not accurate to the anime. If i leave the tail open the backpack and boosters just flop around.

I'm thinking it's just another v1 flaw, but couldn't find any info on it...

  8. So i'm going to sticker my VT-1 and was planning on adding the designation number to the wing and fuselage.

I checked the movie and there are several references to the number. When Roy comes to the rescue, the communications screen shows Roy's number correctly as "VF-1S - 001 - R. Focker" when Hikaru & Minmay appear on Roy's screen, the designation shows up as "VT-102 - H. Ichijo"

Given the model is VT-1, that would imply to me that the wing number should be "02" but during the chase when the ostrich runs from the zentradi directly at the camera, the number 102 appears briefly, indicating the number should be 102

The rest of the movie is no help because there is no number on the wing or fuselage in any other part of the movie, implying that there shouldn't be a number at all.

However, the Version 2 release of the toy has the wing tampo printed as "607" - I have no idea where they got that.

It is possible that i've put way too much thought into this....
