  1. After seeing the Sivil figure on the Macross world Facebook post today, my wife really wants one of these. Preferably un-built, but I would take a completed one if it was well built. It's her favourite character in Macross and I would love to get one of these for her birthday. I know they are going to be hard to find so I though my first port of call would be here to see if anyone has one they would be willing to sell.

So rolling the dice and hoping for a miracle! Thanks guys!

  2. I once saw a Yamato 1/60 v2 Hikaru VF-1A on Amazon listed by a third-party seller based in Japan for about $50 or so. I had a hunch that there might be something fishy about the listing, but elected to take a chance and buy it, figuring Amazon's buyer protection policies would cover me in case anything went wrong. I got a message a couple of days later from the seller indicating that he had made a mistake with the price, and asked if it would be ok to cancel my order. To his credit, he offered to complete the transaction as-is, but said that he would be taking a loss on the sale.

Admittedly, I was tempted to make him complete the sale with the original price, but my conscience got the better of me and I let him cancel the order. Would have been a sweet deal if it happened though.

You sir, are a true gentleman.

  3. Great price Yeti! Cant afford it yet but when my house is built and I set up my display (around Christmas) I hope you will still be making them! I'll be chipping in a little extra though! You clearly (pun not intended) deserve it!

  4. No issue with any of my Macross stuff so far. Lego X-Wing 9493, and Lego Y-Wing 9495 fit on the printed stand without a problem. They are pretty sizable. I would imagine the solid acrylic stand will hold much more.

Have you got a VB-6 to test it with? ;)

  5. That is awesome! I will be looking out for price. that looks like the best stand I've seen. Great work.

What's its stable weight limit? (roughly, I know that the position/angle makes a hug difference)

  6. I agree with you guys. I like buying stuff from them. Though sometimes I do wonder how come some of the items smells funny. Like what I mentioned earlier that I receive my 25F and the SP with a cig smells. and a very strong one too. Some items smells like it's being taken from some mud water. I'm not sure if the shops has some employees who smokes a lot or the toy is just being smells funny.

Just so you know the SP for Alto I bought was never opened. But it really smells. I know a smell if it came from a storage or a warehouse. But this one you know that it's not from a storage or warehouse whatsoever. It's like when you opened the package, my whole room smells like cigarettes instantly.

They usually label them as such if they are been in a smoking house (fairly common to smoke inside in Japan). But the staff would point out to me if they were labelled as belonging to a smoker. So they label them as such on online orders as well?

  7. Mandarake tends to be conservative when pointing out damage. I've received toys that were listed as being in boxes that were "damaged", and it turned out that it was just a slight scratch or other relatively minor shelf wear. They will also list a toy as being "used" even if it is practically new and minimally handled. I think they know they are selling to collectors who are particular about those things, so they err on the side of caution. At least that's been my experience with them. Every single valk I bought from them (with the exception of a VF-25F which was MISB) was listed as used and/or damage on the box, but it looked new to me when I received it.

Absolutely. when I was in store buying from them they will carefully open the box (if already unsealed) take it out and show you each piece and inspect/point out and damage. You could tell everyone working there loved collecting themselves and they even had their own not for sale collections in store to show off.

  8. I agree that it could have done without the boobs, but the overly stylised valks is part of the whole pop-rock themed sound force. KISS didn't exactly tone it down did they? I think it's a great idea and even with the mecha-bra I think it's a great design. I think it's great that Kawamori has created a variety of designs that cater to every taste! Not everyone is going to like them all and they don't need to.

  9. Indeed she is! But nahhh won't be buying another.. would love to have multiples of certain Valks but funds and space are too limited at the moment..

I've never been a fan of the 21 in battroid mode, I didn't like the multi lens head. The VF-22s however looks awesome with the hooded visor look. And they share the same chassis, the only real difference is the cockpit. So my solution will be as follows

    YF-21 in fighter

    VF-22s Gamlin in fighter,

    VF-22s Milia in gerwalk

    VF-22s Max in battroid

That way you get to show off all modes in limited space with all variations of the 21/22 chassis (except that ugly 21 head! haha)

  10. I hear you, i don't have many MIB, so i was conflicted as well. If i'd paid current ebay prices, HELL NO, i would have left it in the box. But how many times in this life will we great opportunities.

Agreed, I got a still shrink wrapped VB-6 SP for just under $250 posted. Tossed up whether to find an unsealed one for around the same price and keep hold of this one, or open the box... As soon as I get to my new house, it's coming out!
