  1. Thanks all.

    Several things:

    1. These JM's are far from perfect. I think the shots don't highlight how bad some of them actually are. I'l post flaw pics shortly.

    2. I intend to go with the cannon non DYRL models first and still need the following:

    - Miriya (Millia before Graham edit's my post ;P)

    - Ben TV (Kakazaki see above)

    - Cannon Fodder

    - Angel Birds (debating whether or not I really want to do this)

Once these are done I may do the DYRL ones, but the 1A versions. Roy will be the only Cannon 1S EVER...

    - Hikaru 1A (can't even call it Rick)

    - Kakazaki 1A

    - Max 1A

    - VT-1 Ostrich

    - VE-1 Elint

If I can get through these, then a few I would consider:

    - Enigma 1S

    - Minmay Guard

    - Minmay Guard Moon Act

    - 1A hex pattern

    - SPW

So I need to get 14 more JM's, somehow. If you got a messed up complete one I'm buyin! But don't expect me to pay premium cuz pristine don't matter, I'm repainting them.

    3. Bobe-Patt is the JM king

  2. I think I am giving up on Rohby's recasts. They don't seem to like paint regardless of the prep work. Tried sanding, soap washes, all kinds. The paint just comes off it like it was coated in oil, very difficult to work with. The last 3 including this one were made from Originals.

I should say, however, I believe that rohby used more than 1 kind of resin, so depending on the kind you got, it's affinity for the paint and the kind of paint you use would probably vary.

  3. If Bandai actually reissued them this way with this detail, I'd be ecstatic. Making these things is extremely rewarding, but maybe that's my creator spirit floating around.

I'm learning alot through each one I do and almost have the custom process for JM's down to a science, but my humanity always screws something up.

As for the "Rick" thing... they can bite me. When I first watched Robotech, I didn't even know what the hell his Japanese name was... so they can say whatever they want.

C'mon now, Rick sounds way better than Hikaru anyways...

  4. Updated gallery shots with skull emblem on heatshield. Since my decals are clear and I can't print white, had to paint the area under it white, apply decal, and the repaint black around the decal to cover the spill.

  5. nice job on that! There was suppose to be a custom JM decal/sticker sheet project done by anasazi but that fell through I guess. You wanna sell some of those sticker sheets?  ;)  :D  :p

Yeah gonna do it, would notbe better than Anasazi's because they would be inkjet and no white... but assuming you are applying to a white valk... should be just as good. Should have a set ready to gather interest in a few days.

Got my skull applied to this custom on the heatshield too. Will post soon.

  6. I used whatever waterslide inkjet paper I could get in quantity from Ebay. The Future is more for transformation wear and helps to flush the decal with the toy, but the decals are coated with Krylon clear coat. This makes it so you can submerge it in the water without the ink from the printer coming off.

  7. I'm in!!  Whatever happenned to those repro JM sticker sets that someone was working on???

Looking at producing a set of Inkjet Krylon coated waterslides for the DYRL and Rick TV Joke Machines based on the customs I've done. As soon as I can work out a set that is fit for sale, I will post. Check out my current Roy JM custom to see.

  8. They were made in Adobe Illustrator and printed on Inkjet eaterslide paper, coated with Krylon Clearcoat. There is a coating of Future over the whole model including the waterslide.

  9. Sounds to me like you should offer conversion kits for the O and the Strike seperately. Realistically, the 2 kits don't really share and common pieces. As a result, why would someone order a set that would cost more for converting a single JM that would have left over parts?

I probably still don't understand wnhat you mean about the Hase parts that would be easier to obtain seperately. I say if you have those Hase pieces, cast em for th ecoversion so we don't have to go search for the kit.

  10. Macross purists think that if it ain't Macross it won't work. All I can say is most of us are Macross fans because of Robotech, believe whatever you want when you go to sleep at night, but at least these guys are perpetuating the Macross fan base in future generations.

Although we may not agree with the histroy of Harmony Gold, they did get us our VF fix, accept it, move on, and let the bigwigs fight it out cuz it's all about money in the end, yours, mine, theirs, his.
