1. I believe the regular PG Zaku and the PG Char Zaku are the same besides the obious colour differences of the armour and the spike on the head of tha Char Zaku  ;)

So, the custom sets should very well fit both sides. Furthermore, the packages of those custom sets does feature one of each Zakus!

Actually, no, the Char Zaku has different lower leg panels and a larger backpack, as it's supposed to be a high performance model. THe set includes a set of leg bindings to allow the items to fit either zaku, i believe.

Also, spray paint works wonders on these guys, cause they're armor's so large. Just slap some purple and black paint on there and you'll be suprised at how good it looks.

  2. A good, albeit short gundam fleet battle (actual fleet battle) is in the first episode of MS IgLoo - it's somewhat obscure, and has only been fansubbed so far, but it shows the first real battle where mobile suits are used.

Oh, and as a bonus, it's in CG :)

I think all the Gundam series have naval battles.

I remember an anime series which featuring statue like ship involved in a space battles, I think the title is Maps or something

    352814

Just wondering, could the battles in Gundam 0083 be considered a battles?

Did'nt Gato make the naval review at Konpiteh (check spelling) glow in the dark with an Mk-82 nuclear warhead? and then at the climactic part of this show did'nt the same Mr. Gato just murder the Federation fleet with the Neue Ziel? This two battles look more like massacres than ship vs. ship a.ka. fleet battles?

    352835

  3. Wasn't the Neue Ziel's only major flaw that it had primarily beam weapons? I just remember seeing in 0083 that it couldn't do anything against the Stamen until it knocked out the I-field generator - whereas the stamen could pound it with missiles.

I'm going to have to see that series again sometime soon.

If the two fought together, the GP03 would go ahead of the Neue Ziel and clear out the MS, and the Neue Ziel would go kill the heavy warships.

Now that is a good combination.

I do like all four Neue Ziel, Alpha Azieru, GP03 Dendobrium Stamen and M.E.T.E.O.R units. I just wished the M.E.T.E.O.R had more missle banks. Then it could be up there with the GP03 Dendobrium Stamen. If I had to take my pick it would be a Strike Freedom paired with the M.E.T.E.O.R.

  4. I knew it, no sooner than I buy the PG RX-78-2 Gundam for $110 off ebay it goes on sale at Amazon finally.  I held out for a long time waiting for it to go on sale and got tired of waiting so I grabbed one.

    Right now it's 74.99.

    Dammit :(

    Here's the link.  PG Gundam

Anyone that want's one go for it.

Still a little too much for me - I liked the 40 dollar zakus better.

  5. i got the american ver of DQ8...man, why'd they change so much?  it was a waste having the stupid voice overs...they sound retarded.  and for some reason it seems to lag like when loading a fight and ending a fight.  the added pictures and menus are kinda lame too, I like DQ series because they try to keep everything the same look throughout and they even took out the stepping sounds when you enter a town/going up and down levels.

also FF12 demo was short, doesn't really show much.  graphics are like 10 but the new battle system looks interesting.

    346839

Those seem like minor changes except for the voice overs - did they remove anything major, like dialogue wise? I tend to find myself skipping over the voice dialog most of the time, since I've usually read the dialogue text by the time they're on the third word. My brother enjoys guessing what sterotypical voice they'll use for each character.

FF12 Demo was short, and kind of sucked hard. It didn't seem all that great, and I don't like the whole only controlling one character at a time thing. Graphics are the same thing as in 10 but the colors seem a bit more washed out for realism.

  6. I have it on preorder somewhere.

One thing I like about it is that the cel-shading is done by Level 5, who did the cel shading for Dark Cloud 2, which is well done (I'm playing through it right now, 50+ hours and I'm still on the third chapter, damn spehda and fishing). I'm hoping the animation is done as well as it is in that game.

Oh, and it comes with FFXII demo too - sweet.

i liked 6, it introduced a lot of new attack moves etc.

7 was ok...added 3d maps and story line was decent, had you going back in time picking up pieces of stone maps, setting them up in a room to make them reappear in the present.

they remade 5 on the PS2 but only in japan, don't know if they're gonna release in the US...tho I think they should...so I can buy it and know the real story again lol.

on another note tho, I just went through my friends DQ8 save file...90+ hours!  but the final moves kinda suck.  and no more monster friendlies it seems.

  7. I have update the list of people that would be interested in the kit or kits. There is no price on each kit, I just want to guage interest first.  Maybe we can go through a company or someone on MW to recast.

One last thing guys can you tell me which kit you would like just in case if buying two kits is way to much money, so how many would like the YF-21 or YF-19?  I have a YF-21 and just need the YF-19, but I would be willing to buy both, I would like to custom make a YF-22.

Maybe someone on the MW forum can cast pilot figures?  That would make a good new topic.

    333094

Prefer the YF-19 if we have to choose - the 21 doesn't look that great to me, but that's probably my own view.

  8.     a mod should change mgrexx's avatar to that masturbating frog  when he is not looking and give him a new title to fit the picture  . thanks for the link i think these were also posted on hobbyfanatics as well.

I seen a couple of these videos before for gundam stuff - they're actually pretty good - and have some good and interesting ideas. The only thing is they are not subbed, so you kind of have to just watch and see what they are doing. There was one with this absolutely batty guy who made a rick dom with an effect that looked like that wood paneling on old station wagons. I was like WTF. THe Wood came out nicely, though.

  9. From the google translation of the page - it looks like it was a garage kit that was offered at Wonder Festival in August 21, 2005 and should be on sale for mail order this month - 44 centimeters tall - 28 parts - self assemble/paint/ etc - what's expected of a garage kit.

    Price - only 30,000 yen ($300 )

Here's some place selling it -

Gainix also has it for preorder on thier site (scroll down) http://www2.gainax.co.jp/shop/list.cgi?genre=8

  10. Ep. 46...

Part of me wants to pity Meer....

    325707

By the way, is it me or is next week going to be another recap episode?

    325717

    From Flets, http://flets.gundam-seed-d.net/WEST/story.html

    Phase-47, "Meer"

The assassin's bullet aimed at Lacus pierced Meer's chest when she covered Lacus. Kira and co could do nothing but watch over her as she breathed her last. As the corpse is carried over to the Archangel, Lacus finds a single disc in Meer's pouch. It was Meer's diary. Being selected to stand-in for Lacus who was absent from PLANT, meeting Athrun, having concerts, giving speeches, changing the world... Athrun hangs his head at the sorrowful journal of a singing-princess who purely wanted to sing for the sake of the world in Lacus's place. Then, Dullandal finally announces the start of the "Destiny Plan"...!!

Sounds like lots of reused footage but doesn't sound like a recap.

    325761

PLease tell me this isn''t true . .. Seriously . . . you've got to be f-ing kidding me. They do realize that there's what only three episodes left. ANd I thought we SAW 90% of the recap footage of her in this episode. Not to mention we had a recap episde about 6 episodes ago.

Seed Destiny is starting to remind me of the second episode of the animated clerks series.

The sheer laziness of the staff on this entire production amazes me.

But we did learn that Arthrun is a badass with a pistol.

  11. price update on the PG rx 78 2 from amazon.com

They just lower the price abit to $119 now instead of the regular $149.

sure it' not the price we are expecting/want but it's at least a start

I hope it ends up at $30 soon

    324927

BTW - all the MGs are back on sale at amazon - 15 instead of 20 for Kampher and GP02, 9 instead of 15 for GP01 and Fb, RX-79, EZ8

and 7 and change for RX-78 ver 1, Zaku (red and gree) and the GM.

Damn I wish i didn't have all of these kits already.

  12. Being a spaceship and submarine are different.

    324007

Reminds me of a quote from Futurama where they travel underwater to the lost city of Atlanta --

    Leela: Five thousand feet!

Prof. Farnsworth: Dear Lord, that's over one hundred-fifty atmospheres of pressure.

Fry: How many atmospheres can the ship withstand?

Prof. Farnsworth: Well, it's a spaceship, so I'd say anywhere between zero and one.

  13. I just skimmed the episode again, and right before the beam fires they do show the relay shift a little from Yzak group's garrage.

They sure expanded on that beam bending tech they introduced with the Forbidden Gundam.

    322386

Yeah - I think a zaku dropped a gernade, and deaka fired all of his missiles on a braking thruster, which probably shifted the entire colony. At the distances that the beam was being used (in the 100,000s of miles), a simple 0.1 degree shift can mean that the beam is off by thousands of miles.

Realistically speaking, this weapon would be absolutely useless, since it would be impossible to aim. In order to even make it work, it needs a sheer amount of precision (down to thousanths or millionths of degrees), some way of positioning itself so precisicely when there is almost no reference points in space, and that you have to compensentate for gravitational drift (since the foci fo the beam aren't at any of the laGrange points).

Then again, exactly how much can be realistic in a show about giant piloted robots anyway.

  14.   I think generally, Sci Fi needs an enema. Could it be all the original story ideas and plot twists have been done to death?

    321921

You know, I once read an article that stated that there are a finite number of actual story ideas that humans are capable of actually generating, and everything after that can only be variations and combinations. Considering all the stuff I've seen on TV, and all the movies that came out (I watched MARCH OF THE PENGUINS, a documentary, last weekend, because there was nothing good out) , I seriously think that humans might have exhausted all the themes available to death. I can't remember the last time I saw something original.

On the other hand, I still watch BSG though, and i like it. I don't really take the actual time to analyze why I like it, I just do.

  15. I just got this in the mail to pimp out my PG zaku

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

The bazookas are great - almost 11 inches. Just need to do some minor sanding and painting on them.

I'm curious if anyone has ever tried tinting the clear parts. I'm debating sparying them a clear red or green and putting them on a zaku, but I was wondering if anyone has tried that. It would be more interesting than the just clear look.

Any idea how to do that. I was thinking about using the tamiya clear paints, but I have no idea how make one lighter or darker (for the skirt armor vs. the rest). .

  16. For anyone working on the PG Zaku - the screws are a pain. They are actually four sets , which are labeled in the manual. I was never able to decipher which one was which.

However, look at dalong part breakdown page -

    http://211.233.38.221/dalong/pg/p03/p03_j.htm

it really helps with the scews, somewhat.

Also, becareful with taking out the screws out of the springs , I ruined one of my springs that way.

Okay all I have left is the skirt armor and th epower coils on the legs and head.

Now before I do the power coils I want ppl to try and look at this picture.  There are 4 different t ype of screws that this thing uses.

the Fat silver to the top left, a shorter and smaller silver to the bottom left, a long black one to the top right, and a thinner shorter black one to the bottom right.

Which screws do I use for the head coils and which ones do I use for the leg coils?

With that, I can finish the Zaku and begin the touch up process of the paint from areas that were snipped by the hobby knife to give a clean complextion.

    320980

  17. Okay, I finished the frame pretty much, but I lost the light bulb...so I'm not gonna be able to light it up :( bummer......really.

    320647

jUst go to radio shack and buy a LEd from there - i think it uses a standard 3 mm - better yet - go and get a purple or blue one to match with your Zaku colors/

    Should be like 2-4 bucks
