  1. The plot's thickening by the way as of Episode 24.

    * Grodek assasinated by the kid during the Ambat opeeartion.

    * Kid from Ambat operation that kills Grodek, also is killed by mysterious people in suits..probably some feddy faction that Grodek was getting evidence on.

    * Also, new toys for Asemu to make him equal a X-Rounder? Hmm.......

  2. Not going there. I could never understand the popularity of Thundercats. Preferred Silverhawks anyway. Same animation company stable I think. Neither show was too great.

    BRING BACK CENTURIONS!!!!

    Amen brother!!! Amen!!!

But I doubt it look goo in anime form. :p

AS for Thundercats never got into it myself. I was more a Centurions, M.A.S.K., Dino Riders kind of kid. :D But still I'll try to see if I can still watch it just out of curiosity. :D

Edit: Darn!!! After being away from this forum for such a time. I never realized that this is the second time I've quoted Tak. LOL

  3. Macross Plus will always remind me of how I developed my love for anime. If it was not for M+ I would not be here as well. :D

BTW, when I first saw Macross Plus (Movie) it was in the WOWOW channel and I could understand a single word the characters were saying, but, that was all it took for me get hooked on anime and eventually wind up here a few years later.

Macross Plus is amazing on so many levels. And it has the best english language DVD (the whole package) of any Macross in my view.

Regarding the music, personally I think Macross Plus has a fantastic soundtrack (done by none other that Yoko Kanno herself) and I have a hard time imagining any other music playing to Isamu's/Guld's duel.

DOGFIGHT FTW!!! By the way who composed this instrumental? Kanno?

  4.

Nova's "I'll be seeing you sooner or later." comment that was inscribed in the Spectre Killer trophy in the cantina now makes perfect sense. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I was just replaying WOL. :D

    IGN's preview of HotS

Seems like there's a new Zerg character.... a female looking hydralisk human hybrid?

    Female Overmind, perhaps?

  5. Ok, is Maris a cyborg? Since it seems a pre-requisite to fly the 27-series, and she's got the whole "fightsuit with triangular neck-chin-things" aspect.

"Angers 672"---kind of a Meltrandi name (Milia 639), but she has human ears. Just have to wait for the MW'ers who can translate for us. :)

She does have that same headclip/thingy that was used to control Brera:

    15224.jpg

So most probably she is. :)

As for "Angers 672" it does kinda remind me of a Meltrandi name like "Milia 639" :D AS for the human ears probable a half human?

  6. WOW!!! I never realized we had a lot of Isamu's on this board. I feel sorry for Guld and Alto though, no one likes them? :p

In any case, my vote goes to Max. WHY? He's a very humble guy and always likes to stay in the background. I still remember when he was first introduced in SDFM as a member of Hikaru's team with all the accolades heaped upon him by his team mates after his performance. B))

  7. No, the prime reason is that there are already anti-laser defences that have been created. The most relevant in this situation is a light-polarization material that blocks and/or reflects the laser light.

On the other hand, there are some theories about using lasers themselves as a kind of force field. Basically a single beam is bounced off of a bunch of mirrors causing a fine net to form over the surface of a craft. Said net will vaporize things like missiles and bullets, but won't stop other lasers.

So, in summary: they will be deployed, but in tandem with bullets.

Macross has also built on these real-world sciences: both laser/beam and bullet weapons, as well as anti-laser materials covering the fuselage and PPB. The last one is quite interesting, as the VFMF:VF-19 explanation of it is extremely similar to a real-world explanation of how a force-field could be created. The difference being that the PPB uses microwaves (obviously of OT origin), and not lasers (with the aforementioned limitations).

So we're going to have I-Fields and PBB's soon then? :p

    On another note:

    ZOMG!!!

So are we gonna have Sharon Apple in the near future?

BUT what about valks and the SDF-1? Does this mean no one will save us when Sharon takes over?:lol:

  8. the only thought I can keep coming back to when watching trailers for this new crop of "alien invasion" movies is: meh, when the hell am I gonna see a Nousjadeul-Ger, Regult, or a Queadluun-Rau?!

When a alien battle fortress crash lands on this planet of course.

    Ta-dum-tisssssshhh!!! Oh the wit!

It's perfectly natural for L.A. to be targetted in various shows. It's a recognized, huge city. As far as movies go, the only other place worse to live in would be Tokyo. Tokyo & L.A. attract way too many movie disasters. Everything from Aliens to Godzilla or whatever. You can't have a disaster movie without showing L.A. getting plastered by something.

And the Hollywood sign still standing. :p

  9. Marines are squaring off with aliens again?

    It's like 1991 all over again. :p

At any rate, this movie seems to be promising. :) The title though is a bit B-Movie-ish.

By the way, my eyes might be deceiving me, but where these Marines wearing ACU's?

  10. Got myself a new laptop last weekend. Here are the specs:

    Asus K42JC

    Intel Core i3 350M

    2GB DDR3 RAM

    320GB hard drive

Nvidia GeForce 310M Cuda 1GB GPU

    14" HD (LED) monitor

    DVD+/-RW Super-Multi drive

    HDMI port

    802.11n + Bluetooth wi-fi

BTW, if you're shopping for an internet security program, go for either Norton or McAfee (which I have installed). Avoid Kaspersky like the plague, as it makes gaming rigs run like Pentium I computers.

I hear Microsoft Security Essentials is a good free alternative nowadays. :)

  11. Preview:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gj0M6aDcgo&feature=player_embedded

I think this preview is old but I got a kick out of watching how little it looks like a Mazinger tittle.

    That was FRACKING AWESOME!!!!! :D

    Some highlights:

    * DUAL ROCKET PUNCH!!!!! :ph34r:

    * I think this is the first Super Robot anime I've seen where the hero unit is used to step on some one as if he was nothing more than a bug.

    * Like everybody else dual wielding of pistols reminded me of a scene from Equilibrium.:p
