  1. Episode 5: "The Alamo"

    Directed by John Terlesky

Rufus grows paranoid when members of Rittenhouse threaten to harm his family if he does not cooperate with them while Wyatt receives word that the NSA is bringing in another operative to replace him. Flynn travels to March 2, 1836 and makes a deal with Mexican President General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna to help bring down the Texas Revolution three days before the original end date of the Battle of the Alamo. The trio follow suit and enter the Alamo Mission, but Flynn kills William B. Travis, preventing his "Victory or Death" letter from reaching Texas and the United States. Making matters worse is the Mexican Army waving the red flag to take no prisoners in their siege. Before the Mexicans begin their attack, Wyatt and Rufus must find an escape route for the women and children while Lucy must finish Travis' letter.

    Next time on Timeless:

    Episode 6: "The Watergate Tape"

The trio must prevent Flynn from obtaining a key element of one of the largest presidential scandals in history.

  3. I'm retiring my computer.

It is already 7 years old. It was pretty good for its time. I wanted it to have 5 years of use before it got too dated. 3 years ago the monitor started shutting off and on. This month it wouldn't load some websites on Firefox and would freeze on IE. Before all this it was starting to crash more often. Didn't have the money to buy a new computer 2 years ago when I wanted to. I have extra money for one now. Wanted to wait for the Christmas sales but ordered one early just incase my current computer dies completely before the sales start.

Guess I have to learn how to love Windows 10.

    CloudReady it.

  4. "Dormammu, I've come to bargain!"

Marvel once again hits a home run with Doctor Strange. Originally, I was unsure about Benedict Cumberbatch doing an American accent, but it works perfectly with his stunning portrayal as Dr. Stephen Strange. The visual effects are nothing short of stunning, taking obvious cues from Inception, but adding more kaleidoscope effects in the mix.

There's even some martial arts in this film. I didn't know Scott Adkins (Boyka in Undisputed II-IV, Casey in Ninja) was here until he suddenly gave Doctor Strange his patented "Guyver Kick" in one of the fight scenes.

As for the supporting cast, some work while others are simply there. Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One does okay for a mentor figure. Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer barely has enough screen time as a love interest. And just like majority of the MCU films, this film's Achilles heel is its villain.

Mads Mikkelsen as Kaecilius is not bad, but his motives are pretty vague to the point where he's less important to the plot than the villains of Thor: The Dark World and Iron Man 3. And Dormammu, despite his imposing presence and abilities, just gives up after less than five minutes of screen time.

All flaws aside, Doctor Strange is a worthy addition to anyone's Blu-ray collection.

  5. I have that HG RX-78 kit and couldn't help but chuckle at how excited he got about it and its inner frame because of how flawed the kit really is. For example the head has zero articulation, the frame limits articulation, the armor kind of rests on the frame not attaching to it making it prone to falling off, and because it has a core booster you can store inside it gimmick the upper half just kind of sits on the lower body making it flimsy.

All in all it feels like a very fragile kit. The system injection looks nice though.

You have to take into consideration what else came out in or before 1990, when Bandai first introduced the HG line. As far as I remember, none of the 1/144 kits at that point had waist articulation. Those with movable skirt armor had at most a 20 degree forward movement. Head movement was mostly limited to a peg-and-swivel joint for some kits. And let's not forget the old Gundam 0083 kits that came out in 1991 - they went completely backwards from what HG offered a year prior.

That being said, the old HG Gundam kits were ahead of their time, as they introduced design elements that would be refined in MG, PG, and RG kits. If you're not into older kits, then the old HG line isn't for you.

On a side note, I helped Kakarot197 track down those kits.

  6. This week on Timeless:

Episode 4: "Party at Castle Varlar"

Directed by Billy Gierhart (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Walking Dead)

The Mothership's location is traced to an abandoned warehouse outside Las Vegas, but Flynn and Anthony evade capture by traveling to December 7, 1944, where they are suspected to give the stolen plutonium to the Nazis to end World War II. The trio arrive in the timeline and meet British spy Ian Fleming, creator of James Bond 007. Together, they infiltrate Castle Varlar to disarm the Nazi's V-2 rocket and ensure the safety of Wernher von Braun, who would later become instrumental to America's space program. However, Flynn has Lucy and Fleming captured by the Nazis at the party.
