  1. Dude, you should totally email them and ask if they will get you a replacement part.

It may sound like a small chance but what I have been finding lately in life in general is that sometimes all you have to do is ask. Sure, quite often the answer is no but sometimes I get surprised and get yes, which is nice. It couldnt hurt. Also you could try to contact the retailer that you got it from and ask them to contact yamato.

As I'm in a similar situation (see my forum post about v.2 1/60 vf-1 parts) I'd also totally be willing to try this tack. Does anybody have an email address that I might try? Graham has some "in"s with Yamato - maybe he knows the correct person to contact?

  2. Mine is missing a small piece of the left leg fin (the forward/yellow "base" of the fin, the non-pivoting portion). I combed through the box but, if it was ever loose in there, it isn't any longer.

As I'd very much like to fix this, has anybody parted out a broken VF-1S? Is there ANY chance that one of you guys in the 9% might have a spare off of a broken valk that you'd be willing to sell?

    Thanks,

    DG

  3. Noted, and thanks! Unfortunately, I need to find a replacement piece before I can actually think about gluing it on :(

I broke that exact same piece when I tried to fold the fin without pull it out first. If you try to glue it back on, you'll never be able to open the leg landing gears without the door breaking it off again. Also watch out for the kind of glue you use. I used some sort of clear plastic cement that my brother had lying around and the yellow paint started coming off on my fingers.
  4. Quick question for all you 1/60 lovers out there: has anybody parted out and/or broken a VF-1S? mine appears to be missing a small piece of the left leg fin (the forward/yellow "base" of the fin, the non-pivoting portion). I combed through the box but, if it was ever loose in there, it isn't any longer. Is there ANY chance that one of you guys might have a spare off of a broken valk that you'd be willing to sell?

    Thanks,

    DG

  5. http://www.blizzard.com/diablo3/

Two decades have passed since the demonic denizens, Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal, wandered the world of Sanctuary in a vicious rampage to shackle humanity into unholy slavery. Yet for those who battled the Prime Evils directly, the memory fades slowly and the wounds of the soul still burn.

When Deckard Cain returns to the ruins of Tristram's Cathedral seeking clues to new stirrings of evil, a comet from the heavens strikes the very ground where Diablo once entered the world. The comet carries a dark omen in its fiery being and it calls the heroes of Sanctuary to defend the mortal world against the rising powers of the Burning Hells – and even the failing luminaries of the High Heavens itself.

Damn, am I gonna have to take time out from my WoW addiction to play this??

  6. But my point is that IF and only IF they can't make the VF-1 due to the bigwest problem, (are they planning on bringing this movie to japan? I doubt bigwest is going to like seeing vf-1 in an american movie) then and only then skip space war I, do robotech movie with alphas,

I would think that, even if rights weren't an issue, we wouldn't see existing mecha or character designs in the film. That they'll do some version of the "Macross Saga" is all but a given (it's what most people think of when they think of "Robotech") but if TRANSFORMERS/GI JOE/etc have taught us anything about how Hollywood thinks when adapting nostalgia fare like this, it's that the filmmakers expect the freedom to "reimagine" the look of the thing to suit their perception of broad audience tastes.

So I'll bet you anything that there'll be an "SDF-1" and "Veritechs", but that they'll bear only a passing resemblance to existing designs. And they'll probably have flames on 'em

  7. I"ve been doing lots of stuff. its all posted on my blog :D I even put your Iron Man clip on there. I Just got into art school, Art Institute of California. starting off slow with 2 classes at the moment.

    'grats! That's a fabulous school.

  8. Hi Dok, good to see you are still playing with your model. :D

Hey, what can I say, it's cheaper than buying a Yamato (WISH I could afford one of those right now....)

How about you? Any recent work on that front?

  9. man just give me a reasonable mecha - one that is good with hand to hand combat, and I can take care of this gloverfield monster with no damage to the citizens (well maybe a little, I might step on someone, or accident'ly blow up a building lol). I am thinking of either a EVA or becomeing ULTRAMAN. Man I cant decide, I would say a valk or a destroid but I dont think they are of the right caliber. But becomeing Ultraman would be sweet, I always wanted to do that thing with the laser arm thingymigjig. ^_^

    Way ahead of you..... ;)

    CLOVERFIELD MONSTER VS. MECH

  10. Wow ..good to hear from you Aztek B))

Yeah Az, hi and congrats! Those F-16s look sick!

Now all we need to do is dig up Vinnie and Les Parisek somewhere...!
