  1. C'mon Arcadia re-issue 1/60 Max & Milia VF-1J!!!!

    Yes I second that! :)

it would be awesome if they did max and milia as a set!

C'mon Arcadia listen to the community and give us what we want!

  2. Yeah, I was going to say the color/lines of the 19F are absolutely gorgeous. And no speakers on that one either. Just sexy blue. Totally missing out if you're thinking super-speaker, rockstar robots because the 19F/S aren't that at all. Hell, pop the silly shoulder pods out and the 19P cuts a sexy profile as well. And there aren't any speakers on the 17's either. There's plenty to go around in Macross 7, even if you don't like the show (I don't, but I know sexy when I see it. I just didn't buy Basaras Valk).

Aw, dude, you totally have to pull that 19S out just to check out the sexy blue for a bit. MY Mom doesn't know a damn thing about these toys but even she will comment on how great the color of the 19S/F are.

I have noticed that also! The M7 VF-19 bunch do seem to get the most comments when people see them in my collection! And its always positive! ei. "the colors on those are really nice!" or "oh I like those ones!" etc etc..

  3. Hello Guys!

Ok, I render over night and I manage to render 4 3k px images. I fixed the light a bit, so it look better this time. This time's for real, I'm done with this and I'm moving on to the arms and legs.

Find attached the zip with the hi-res images.

That's friggin awesome! I only just recently purchased a YF-21 but I wish it had this level of surface detail! Well done your work is amazing! B))

  4. Thanks for the replies guys! I did forget to mention that it was only really for Battroid mode that I was after posing suggestions for.. but all other modes are good too!

I'll assume you're looking mostly for Battroid (robot) mode poses. When I first purchased my VF-1 1/48 Yammies years ago I went through a phase where I was attempting dozens of poses and looking everywhere for inspiration. I did create some interesting poses (particularly action poses), but I think I was suffering from an attempt to show off or exaggerate the capabilities of the articulation. I think the more articulation available for a toy, the greater our tendency to make a pose too "showy".

A partial solution was to avoid extreme poses and instead find "casual" poses. Most often these casual poses were the most stylish because they mimicked a "human" stance. Also, when using casual poses allow your Valkyries to be playful, lol. It's not always necessary to use a front pose so you can "see everything"; often times awesome poses can be found by placing the back or side of the Battroid facing toward the viewer. The quarter turn from behind with the head turned 90 degrees in profile is a classic battroid pose. The quarter turn from behind with the gun pod held in both hands (not aiming, but at the ready) is even more badass :)

When you do go for more wild setups, I'd say don't be afraid to create some unstable poses. I know I had the bad habit of babying my toys because I was afraid of breaking such an expensive product. But that limits what you can build. Some of the best action poses I did find caused the toys to fall once or twice, but with some refinement the balance was improved. Use the animated shows for inspiration. Not necessarily the hero-poses, but the more common action sequences can often have the best stylish shots. Anime excells at drawing the world in a hyper-stylized fashion, so get some ideas from there.

Thanks for your very informative reply Mr March! You put some great points across! Yes I have been rather cautious when it comes to posing and most of my stuff is setup fairly conservatively or casual / human positions.. Extreme poses are difficult as the VF-1 Valks do seem to be stability sensitive and have a tenancy to want to topple over.. I know what you mean with the back facing towards you position as shown in the pic I have posted. Very simple but a great primed and ready stance!

I dont know if you're a fan of posing in fighter mode, but if you have some acrylic risers of different heights, you could do some nice banking poses.
But if you have flightstands, this suggestion is probably moot.

But I'll post the pics anyway. Sorry for the quality, these are from my instagram.

I just found one day that having the Valk Pivot on the Gunpod gave it just enough lean for a bank. I had these risers on hand since I couldnt get flightpose stands, so I thought I'd experiment one day.

The flying in formation pose is fantastic also! I would like to get a few more of the fight pose stands to I can accomplish this! I have a handful of flightpose stands but the only Valkyrie I have in any sort of flight angle is the VF-1A Cavaliers with its wings swept back in a banking turn its looks great! But I had modified the stand previously when I had another Valk on display with it.. I made all three posts a different length by cutting them down a little. I know I could have just swapped out the posts from other sized stands but at the time I only had one and wasn't sure if I was gonna get more..

Check out the "strike a pose thread". Ton of inspiration in there.

Hey thanks for the heads up. I did check out this thread and got some good ideas which I will use and try! Sorry to everyone for posting a new thread of an existing topic but I clearly didn't look hard enough to find it..

my current setup to maximize display space. Gonna squeeze 2nd and bottom shelf with 2 x VF-1A Max

Nice little setup you have here!

Mr March here is that rearward facing pose I was talking about.. looks so tough just standing there!

  5. Hey, just thought i'd throw ya'll a rather random request..

Im trying to freshen up my VF-1 display cabinet with some better action poses. I tried Googling for some pics but couldn't really find anything that looked even remotely interesting..

If you have any pics of some cool looking poses would you be so kind posting them up here so I can have a look!? Would greatly appreciate it!

    B))

  6. Hmmm. I started collecting in Jan of 2013. I sold off a lot of my old toys from the 80's that were opened to start off. That gave me about 2 grand or so.

I'd have to think about it.

yeah same I had a lot of stuff I had collected from the 80's, 90's early 2000's that I sold off including my v1 collection of Valks so I could go motorcycle racing! Which was also a very expensive hobby! Which I gave up in 2010 and started collecting stuff again.. The other problem I have is everything I buy I have to pay that extra bit more for postage because I live in Australia.. especially stuff from EU or USA is always much more expensive..

  7. Collecting valks is bad news for your wallet.

    Pew pew.

pew pew alright! For a while there my savings account was getting shot to bits! Just did a quick tally of the money I've spent so far on my Macross collection including all the girly figures and it's about $11,500.. If I include the few Valks I've bought for my son its just shy of $13,000. I know there are guys out there with far bigger collections some with many multiples but for what I've spent so far it's pretty crazy! And there are quite a few more I don't have yet which would cost a lot more pretty pennies!

  8. I might dig a Basara scheme on a YF-29.

Bandai might get their knickers in knots trying to decide if the yellow bits will be yellow or gold! :p

I wonder if CDJapan is going to have it available at the time of release (the 9th if I recall) or abit later.

CDJ were only a few days behind HLJ with the Prophecy release so personally I doubt we'll have to wait that much extra.. fingers crossed regardless! ;)

  9. And probably a YF-30 Ozma Custom repaint for sure. ;)

an Ozma paint would be great but maybe some more non character based paints in favor of some cannon fodder / military paint schemes would be nice for a change!

  10. Same here. I paid $400 for the renewal VF-25S and $200 for his armor parts excluding shipping. That was back in 2012 from eBay. That's when the craziness started.

Yeah was on or about's that time the prices really started to hike up.. prices had started to rise considerably then I started to panic! The most expensive individual Valkyrie I've purchased so far was the mass production VF-1J.. $550 (no regrets though), then Hikaru's J & the VF-4 at about $500 each.. my VF-1D was about $450 then Ozma $400, then Micheal & VE-1 $350ish etc etc.. its been a costly & bumpy road to get this far and there is no end in sight! But I say bring it on!
