I haven't seen enough of the movie to make any sort of plot predictions or insults. I'll leave that for others The only reference I made to 2001 is the use of title cards and subtitles at the bottom of the screen. I swear, the subtitles used exactly the same font and sizing as 2001 did.
TITLE CARD "The Great Beyond" scene commences.
wait, you're comparing the two movies based on the font?
So... you're ignoring everything else then, right? Like the music, the tone, the emotion and purpose of the two movies. Just... the fonts. gotcha.

I want to play this game too.
I thought BSG really paled in comparison to prince of egypt. I mean, sure, they got some of the same stuff, like:
people in exile looking for promised land
religious leader
miracles
religious leader dies after leading people to promised land
But where was the singing and they totally dropped the whole golden calf subplot. -
I got a very 2001 vibe from the title cards. Same font as that movie, same idea. This could be good.
what idea would that be?

I have a cavaliers release, no problems like the ones you are describing. Sorry for the bad luck

you're right. It isn't funny. It's awesome.

nippon yassan jacked up their price, expect it to go back up for pre-order tonight.
-
I wish I saw this a couple weeks ago, I'd have been all over it. Unfortunately we finally found a house and are currently in the middle of closing on it and I cant throw down any extra cash until we are settled. =/
just roll it into your mortgage

there's a couple of moments in the TV dogfight that I think are brilliant but as a whole, I think the DYRL fight is better paced and choreographed.

got my copy today from CDjapan. No QC issues, missing parts, paint issues or scratches on the finish. Hips are looser out of the box than I remember on my alto 171 but that isn't a bad thing.

There's just something about toyworld's aesthetics in general that doesn't work for me. I like the prime design but this slightly soft, rounded and squished version doesn't click for me.

I wish.. i mean... uhm. No...?

not enough altos posted, here you guys go

Lol. This thread just gets better and better

I'll just leave this here

again, so what's your theory? that arcadia is going to release their own version of the hasegawa kit but remold the tail to add what looks like a part of the 1/60 toy on it?
anyways, this was fun, good night. -
Which image refers to a 1/60?
The first image posted has no reference to a 1/60.
The second image posted is clearly for a model due to the price.
The images are both exactly the same and clearly posted on other sites as a model kit.
Not trying to argue, or piss you off. I'm just asking. Trying to understand myself. haha
I'm getting the articles translated. So we'll know soon enough.
the images are not exactly the same. the first picture, posted by the op is not a 1/72 hasegawa, the second image posted. The one we've all seen for a couple weeks is.
-
look at the image posted by the op.
again, if hasegawa already did the art and applied it to their existing 1/72 model, why would they release a new image of the art applied to a 1/60 -
so, what's your theory? That arcadia is going to upscale or downscale an exact replica of the v2 1/60 design but change it so it doesn't transform?
btw, that price tag you're referencing is for the hasegawa model.
As for another vf-1 repaint not being a continuation of what yamato was doing before they went under, it very much is. They release the cavaliers vf-1a at the same time as the vf-19p and vf-4.
-
why would hasegawa go through the trouble of doing a mock up on a yamato 1/60 v2 vf-1j profile when they already released an image of their version on their own vf-1 design?
-
looks great. puts my yamato weathering edition to shame

I dont have a problem with the way ledo is being portrayed but the way earthling morality is.
At first they're willing to kill a kid to steal his mech. Then bellows goes on about how it's wrong to kill without justification. And thus, gang rape isn't justification but simple theft is. Then she goes to describe how you have to maintain weakness in order to not provoke the pirates. Then they consider giving ledo to the pirates but only reconsider when they decide that wouldnt be enough. Then they decide to fight the pirates but don't want ledo to kill but will happily kill pirates themselves.
-
It wasn't a moral issue, but a diplomatic one. It wasn't so much that killing was wrong (they had no problem using deadly force to try and repel the pirates), but they were afraid of the retaliation from the much larger pirate force (which was in fact correct). I think they had been, up to that point, putting up with small depredations from the pirates in order to avoid annihilation. They don't really comprehend the kid's Clarke-ian level of technology advantage over themselves.
That might have made sense if they hadn't told him specifically not to kill him and then showed him trying really hard not to kill people. If it was just diplomatic faux pas, then once the pirates attacked in force, they should have left him off the chain and just had at it. But no, instead we had him fooling around while everyone else around him tried their best to kill one another in the most inefficient way possible.
Really, it's just sloppy writing. They made him way too powerful in comparison to the pirates and everyone else and had to invent some arbitrary plot device for why he couldn't just zoom around and kill everyone.
-
I liked the first two episodes well enough but I thought ep 3 was horrible.
let's kill the boy and steal his mech!
killing people is wrong, don't kill those people who were going to gang rape our crew members!
let's give the boy to the pirates so they can kill him
help us kill the pirates!
Remember, don't kill the pirates though, killing is wrong!
yay, that boy helped us kill all those pirates! -
Arcadia gives some hope!!!

I like the design. I'm gonna mount it in a shadow box and have it up on the wall as an art piece.
