  1. My beef with Kawamori is his storytelling. I don't care if the man has had spiritual epiphanies - more power to him. But I don't want to watch an anime that serves a mouthpiece for him to go on at length about how fragical the Earth is and whatever else he wants to talk about. Even if he was hellbent on doing it once, that's fine, but it's a theme that keeps crawling into more and more of his projects. Personally, I would like to see Noboru Ishiguro come back and direct a new Macross project, be it a movie, OVA or TV show.

If Noboru Ishiguro were to return to Macross, it wouldn't be surprising to see environmental, spiritual, or unconventional themes with him also. The last three new anime Ishiguro supervised or directed (Totoi, Kimera, Toukyou Jusshouden) were about a boy saving seals from extinction, a yaoi-manga-based erotic alien-human horror story for female viewers, and mankind's salvation from demons from an alternate realm, respectively.

  2. why did egan disappeared anyway? is their a story behind this?

It's a long story, but it's basically an inside joke. ;) In past events like AX, I've make a point of waiting until everyone else has had a chance to ask her questions/get autographs/take pictures so that everyone gets a fair shot. (Most times like yesterday, I don't even do any of that, except volunteer to shoot cameras for other people.)

That led to good-nature joking from Don Yee and friends that I'm avoiding her (as nice a person as she is), and I play along with the joke with those guys. It's become second nature. ;)

  3. It sure was fun. Thanks go out to Solscud007, Shawn, Seiichi, Egan Loo and anybody else who helped to put MW Con 5 together. Good to see some of you guys again and meet new faces also. I hope MW Con 6 happens next year, and you can be sure I'll bring the Saporro again. :D

Yep, to be fair, I only pitched in on the day of the con, since I wasn't completely sure I could make the con until I arrived in Southern California at 3 am that morning. Solscud007, Shawn, Seiichi, and the others have been working hard to make this con fun for several months.

  4. Man doesn't Tommy know he can buy a pair a white cloth gloves instead off taking off his socks.

haha, I know huh? Nah, that's all he had at the time. It was either that or use Egan's little macross mitts!;):p:D:lol:

;) It scares me how tiny the kids must've been to wear them. We were joking that the Macross swimming trunks and mittens would barely fit the plush Minmay and Valkyrie dolls.

  5. What was your favorite moments from the con? For me, it was when Mari arrived, and Egan ran away to hide!

;) There can't be any proof that she and I have ever been in the same room.

Oh wait, there was the group photo. :o;)

I tried to reach Don Yee to come to Macross World Con 5, because he should have been there. Without Don Yee and his 1999 Protoculture Addicts article, few people in America would have known Mari Iijima was living in Southern California for the past decade. I didn't find out until 1995 when I was in Japan.
