  1. The Ghost's canards have to be squeezed really tightly to make it fit. I don't want to risk breaking mine, and the fact that the missile pods don't fit either seems to indicate the old set is not really compatible.

  2. I don't need all the "realistic" No Step markings and warning labels that Bandai is putting on their toy (oh btw I have color bleeding on my VF-19ADVANCE where the black paint on the lower leg is producing panel lines because it runs through the seam line) but all the markings shown in the anime should be reproduced on the toy.

Well, if posts here are anything to go by, Bandai never manages to replicate all of the markings seen on the Frontier Valkyries. Especially when it comes to what's on the Super/Armor packs. I suppose they do just enough to mask any oversights though.

  3. Bandai products are also subject to a noticeable price creep. This is especially true with their S.H. Figuarts and Robot Damashii toys.

For example, the first version of Kamen Rider Black was 2,500 yen.

And the more screen-accurate version release a few years ago was 3,500 yen.

These days, a comparable figure like the Figuarts Stormtrooper is 4,000 yen.

And the First Order Stormtrooper is 5,000 yen.

These are all basic action figures of a costumed person, so it's not something Bandai is inexperienced with.

Bandai did have the advantage of starting off with lower prices, but at this rate it won't be long until DX Chogokins prices rise higher as well.

  4. Which is more easy to fold? Thanks. ;)

I think it might vary from figure to figure. With mine it's easier to do the right wing over the left wing, but the box pics show the opposite.

I mean not the regular slots where the canards where slotted in on the V1 VF-0. I mean the big slots for the beige missile launchers (the one that are too wide for the V1 armament). Because the chest of the Battroid-Mode is narrower than on the previous iteration I thought maybe the canards can slot into the top slots.

The tips of the Ghost's canards cannot fit into the top slots. They are not shaped for that.

  5. Could you attach the booster by putting the two canards of the drone into the slots in the conformable fuel tanks?

The alternate ghost booster use CFTs seem like they are slightly too close together to allow both ghost canards to slot in comfortably. It feels like I would be breaking the canards if I forced them in there.

  6. Wait, did they actually make it incompatible? I mean, gluing the pods down to the chest piece is inconvenient, but it's by no means permanent. I was able to pry the pods off my 0D with a little work.

I address this at the beginning of the video.

  7. Or maybe he's just that good? I know that US special operations forces train in such close quarters that they are shooting over each other's shoulders, and they trust each other to be that good.

Still, it's unnerving, and the pilot Isamu was saving sounded like he needed a change of shorts...

    The beauty of double standards.

  8. Seriously though, folks care a lot about a toy that costs $300 plus and are entitled to wonder why some design choices are made.

I'm sorry, but anyone outside of the Japanese market is not entitled to anything regarding Macross toys. It's something we have to deal with, but it hasn't changed in the time since the very first Macross Zero toys came out.

Plus, they've already announced the mass-produced type version (and the Shin type is clearly all ready to go out the door), so I think it's best to move on now.

Sometimes you just have to take a step back and remember that it is the person that controls the hobby, and not the other way around.

  9. Yes, the KS is focused on releasing the main visual novel trilogy, which is split into two games.

    https://vndb.org/v93

"Muv-Luv" contains the first two parts, Extra and Unlimited.

    https://vndb.org/v92

Muv-Luv Alternative is the sequel that continues the story to its conclusion. It is also longer than both Extra and Unlimited put together.

The people behind the KS are first releasing the "All-ages" version of the visual novels, which remove the brief sex scenes and censors a bit of the gore. They mentioned trying to get the uncut versions released later on, but for all intensive purposes, the All-Ages ones are perfectly fine.
