  1. Well, at least we don't have to worry about Groon for a while.

Jesus, I hope that the Ro-Bear Berbils will be able to fit Panthro with bionic replacements (I've spent way too much time playing Rifts).

Good call. That's probably exactly what will happen.

I figure they're going to do either that, or some weird mumbo jumbo with the astral plane and the stones, that'll restore Panthro's arms like nothing ever happened.

  2. I was thinking more along the lines of a starfleet outdated rear line ship made into a dumping ground crewed by the fed's rejects. An anti-TNG if you will.

I've had similar thoughts, for a Trek series. I'd like to see it set on a run down Enterprise E, that's long past its days as pride of the fleet. Give it a crew of misfits that Starfleet doesn't really know what to do with, and stick them on border patrol. Kind of Trek, with a Firefly attitude. They could even run into the occasional bit of TOS flavored weird poo.

  3. Where are getting your information about an electromagnetic burst? I didn't see anything about it, in the articles you linked to. The bright flash, is light reflecting off the debris thrown out by the impact. One of the articles mentions that it was bright enough to overwhelm the pixels on some of the instruments, but one of the others even says it was close in brightness to what they'd predicted.

  4. Was anybody watching close in the merchant's hovel? Was that a Ro-Bear Berbil arm!?

The show was great. The characters are flawed, but not to the point where I want to reach through the screen, and smack them. (well, maybe Tygra)

  5. How's this for a remake? Set it in WW2 when France is having an "identiy crisis." An American OSS Operative, British SAS Commando, and former Legionnaire befriend a young Resistance member. Together they must defeat Colonel Richleau of the Vichy Regime who is working with the German SS to breed an army of Zombie stormtroopers. Directed by Uwen Boll.

Except for that last sentence, I thought that sounded awesome. It should be written by Joss Whedon. The sequel will need some werewolf Wehrmacht.

  6. Got my Wheeljack, today. He was always my favorite character, and I love this update. It does a great job capturing the original toy's short, stocky look.

Think I'm gonna paint his side pipes up in darker colors. Should make them look more realistic in vehicle mode, and look better as shoulder weapons. I'd rather he had two shoulder weapons, than a single one that kinda-sorta looks like the G1 launchers.

  7. Interesting that they chose to focus on the fact that she wrote the Twilight movies, while Sci-Fi Wire (or whatever they're calling themselves, these days) was quick to point out the other things she's worked on.

Honestly, I've been feeling for a while that this franchise needs a reboot. The first movie is a classic, that stands pretty solidly on its own. But, everything they did afterwards really screwed things up. After they started basing movies on the TV series, there was really no hope left for that franchise. Seriously, have you seen The Source?

I'm honestly not expecting it to be as good as the original, but with luck, it'll be better than any of the sequels. (setting that bar pretty low, ain't I?)

  8. Pumyra was way hotter imo >,>

    This.

Me neither. I dunno Keith, I guess everyone here likes their Cheetara manly looking and ready to join a drag-queen competition...

She wasn't manly looking, but she sure did have an awfully deep voice. Only thing I don't like on the new one is the wrist weights. They just look ugly, and don't seem even remotely practical.

  9. Makes me glad I mostly only do customs of my own original characters. I may do the occasional GI Joe or Transformer custom, luckily Hasbro aren't dicks.

    (Further thread derailment)

LOL I love how the "video software" in CSI can magnify and enhance almost anything ! :D GIGO principal need not apply!

"That's all the resolution we have, sir. Zoom just makes the pixels bigger."

    "Not on CSI Miami!"

  10. I use Model Master for most of my painting. Good coverage on most colors, and it doesn't need to be thinned, to airbrush. I tried spraying Tamiya from an airbrush once, and could not get it to stop giving am orange peel effect. I do a lot of brush painting, and have trouble with the Tamiya thickening up in the jar, very quickly. (Which is odd, seeing as it seems to take longer than the Model Master to dry, on the piece) I do prefer the Tamiya over the Model Master when it comes to metallic colors, though. The Model Master metallics are all infuriatingly transparent.

I find my gravity fed airbrushes much easier to clean, than those siphon jar lids are. Seems like it takes forever flush all the paint out their tubes and fittings. (I probably shouldn't be comparing a crappy Testors airbrush that died after two months, to my two Iwata airbrushes, though.)

  11. I just finished watching Vandread. That was the best anime I have seen in a long time. I just want more more more!

Really interesting story...men and women fighting each other in the far future with giant mecha (like Zentrans and Meltrans). Good action. The CGI animation for the mecha is not that great by today's standards, but the great story and characters really make up for it. Good amounts of comedy and dirty humor. The Pyoro NAVI tempermental robot provided good laughs. The ending was really great, the way Hibiki finally understands the situation.

This is like Eureka 7 and Gurren Lagann rolled into one but with a better conclusion to the story.

Vandread is one of my favorites. Even the obnoxious pilot guy got some character development. Though, that was kind of sad.
