  2. I wonder what repaint will come out of this. I feel like I'm being too naive that it would be a new scheme.. and not a retool into a Fire Kai.
Either way, This design won me over, and I'll buy any repaints. I really hope they surprise us with something new and never done before.

  3. From a business perspective... uh, did they really need to spend the money on a SDCC panel? I mean.. hey guys look at these couple of themed products? Who the hell is cutting the checks over there? How is the insanely small amount of profit from those few toys, and comic books paying to fund worthless comic con panels?

Are any of these guys actually employed? if so... why?

Watching these is a kin to watching a horse being beaten for almost 20 years without rest.

  4. Leto can definitely act the Joker, I have no doubts. But the overall design and look of this movie is trash. I don't care if it even has a good story. Stupid designs, stupid outfits, terrible over tattooing of all the characters.

DC just couldn't movie if Marvel did it for them. Why in the bloody hell would you walk away from the foundation that Nolan left for the premise

of continuity after a hugely successful trilogy? It's not that hard, you just had Gotham torn apart, all these same characters were out on the streets... just pick up and continue, Levitt is the new Batman... but nope, just another Joel Schumacher-esque sequel.

I'm willing to bet this will make 70-80 million opening weekend, and then drop off hard. It's a comic plot that most average people won't give a crap about. It's also extremely to early to be making an anti-hero film, when you haven't even set up you're universe yet.

  5. Yeah, I don't see what the problem is. They are decent, and I'll bite if the price is fair. Let's give credit to one thing that HG has produced that makes sense. They will look great with my SDFM stuff. I kinda hope it sells enough we can get a few more, like Misa, Lisa whatever and MAKE KAZAKI! I mean Ben, or whatever!

I'm in assuming they aren't priced above 20$, at least for Roy and Rikaru

  6. I love the V-22's, they are just like.. a design that just looks universal in it's beauty.

To bad the damn things have had so many deaths related to its operational use.

I have a feeling it won't be long before some sort of pulse drive technology gets used to make

the VTOL a much better platform. The rumors of pulse engines have been around for a decade now.

GE has a patent similiar, and IRC Boeing has a patent that is "pulse drive engine technology" or something

rather straight forward. Obviously that could just be a place holder, hoping the investment will end up being worth it.

  7. A little part of me hopes we see a new fighter that steals some love from the 35. Even though VTOL is not necessarily a needed thing in Macross ( gerwalk does it just fine) It would be interesting to see if we ever saw a VF that had the ability to VTOL in fighter mode. The incorporation of that function, while still holding the ability to transform in 3 modes, seems just like the challenge the master himself might try.
but really any new fighter is probably gonna be a work of art. Topping the YF-30 is still outside of my ability to imagine.

  8. I don't see what all the fuss is, I was able to transform this thing in a matter of minutes. I didn't even need the instructions. It just transformed like an other YF/VF series. I actually like the use of sliding joints and extensions to extra bars.

I will say those wing boosters... well one of them is just a PITA to get tight, the other popped on right away.

and the wings don't need any support to hold up the boosters in Batt mode. The front gear mechanism is pretty cool.

But ultimately the gear will slide forward if moved even in the slightest with gear down. should have figured out a way to lock it down.

All in all, the small issues don't out weigh what a slamming deal the whole thing is. Still can't believe we got all the accessories and

    extras for around 180$!

Anubis - Last time I heard, they can't replace parts outside of Japan because of legal reasons.
but I assume most places won't replace parts for international just due to it being a pita, and time consuming.

  9. I'm waiting it out for MP devistator. hah

rumor has been the first MP combiner Tak is going after is Bruticus. However, the new Devy might change that based on sales.

You never know when a company is testing the market. I know both head designers had expressed massive interest in making an MP combiner. It's a brilliant move, because it insures the sale of six figures (or five).

  10. I liked that the kids' last name was Mitchell, because my last name is Mitchell, and there aren't a lot of Mitchells in film. The only other one I can think of offhand is Lt. Pete Mitchell, of Top Gun fame.

But my favorite part was when

the kids stumbled on the Jurassic Park Motor Pool and got the Jeep running. When Gray said "1992 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. Sand Beige." I lost it. "This kid's just as big a fan as me!" It was also a nice touch that the Jeeps were the actual Jeeps from the first film.

Of course there's no way in hell they would have been able to get that thing running. Even if they could find a battery that wasn't totally depleted, 25 year old gasoline will not run a car. To say nothing of oil, coolant, brake fluid (which is hydroscopic and acidic) or all the rubber which would have rotted away in a tropical climate for a generation. Also, and this was probably the biggest kicker for me, no way a 16 year old American boy from a family in Wisconsin who owned a minivan would know how to drive stick.

If you listened closely the jeeps were knocking and sounded like crap when they first left. It's definitely possible for them to run, they just wouldn't run very long. I witnessed a 30 year old car, that sat around, started without changing the oil. it ran, and drove, but it knocked and needed an engine pretty soon after ward. I'd imagine I take the risk if it meant getting away from revengasaur.

  11. That's pretty much entirely wrong, Skullmilitia... HG has the Macross name fair and square.

You're confusing what I mean. Yes as of right now they legally own it. However using the whole "international" approach to trademark doesn't work anymore. The parent company always has the rights, and without much effort would be able to show in court that the "American" company was never given rights to use that trademark in this market. Unless it came down to Tats having done improper licensing during

the initial arrangment. I guess that could royally F and chance of seeing new productions in the west.

but If we want to talk about Trademark law, at this point that name is nearing abandonment, and someone could probably pick it up.

without much hassle. You can't just take a name, sit on it and not use it. It's nearing 20 years since the last time they made merch using that name. Hell, Maybe I'll grab a trademark lawyer and offer to split the profits of getting a license to dist. Macross "Delta" :D

  12. Yeah, and if someone under BW's grace wanted to Bring Macross Delta (or w/e) to the US, HG would have no way of stopping it.

If they tried to C&D in front of BW with new animation based on claiming the "Macross" title, you'd see a lot of unemployed RT employees

and a list of lawyers with losses. Don't forget, they really legally don't own that trademark, and the fact they still have it is more than likely due to BW not caring right now. But get in the way of profits, and I'm sure the BW hammer would be swift.

We could only hope to be so lucky, that HG tried to stop BW here, it would mean the end for HG's grip on the word.

So that in mind, I hope they try and release and english sub version for the west :D
Honestly I like the Japanese voice actors better, only in rare cases (Black Lagoon) have
I felt that the English actors kicked more ass!

  13. I'm waiting for the Takara Devy to show up before getting the Hasbro one, it'll likely be the same price as Amazon, just with shipping.
The Beast Wars MP was a shot in the dark from Takara. While I do love the Beast Wars, and I would likely buy most, I still think we should
have gotten in the least, a proper Megatron, and even Sunstreaker and Jazz before moving to BW.

Then again, We aren't the target market, so they obviously feel the risk in the MP Beasts is worth the investment.

I've seen pretty much every single Combiner wars figure currently released, and I haven't bought one yet. I can't get over those

terrible arm joints. It reminds me of the first lego swivels. It feels cheap. I know Devy isn't any different, but it will always be combined in form.
Plus I'm sure a range of 3P will make upgrades for Devy.

  14. Looking through the reviews, They are nothing a like in design. From an engineering stand point the lines on the Bandai are almost perfect. More pronounced and in line with flight dynamics over the surfaces. Close ups between the two, make the Arcadia mold look sloppy, and less edged. I don't know, I think Bandai really nailed fighter almost perfectly in the design aspect. Then You look at just the panel lining, and placement and it all lines up together with the other body lines.

I never would have noticed how off the Arcadia is, without seeing something so much more linear accurate.
I don't think there's a copy issue at all, because Kawamori (the guy who owns the rights essentially) over saw both models.

It would make sense for them to be nearly identical. I only hope it has less QC issues as the Arcadia did.

  15. I'm sure you guys are digging new stuff, but I just dove into my old storage shed for the first time in about 20 years, and found these gems.
These are original owner, mine from release week.. my parents went through hell to get them. I'm glad they were kept in decent shape.. only sad part is the missing NES controller..

Found a stash of games, but i haven't broke them out yet.

  16. I wonder if Primal would be using the new technology coming out of Hong Kong. Pliable rubber compound, 3A has been using without issue.

That would make the internal skeleton capable of creating poses, and the body able to be in pieces, but look flawless.

If they use that, they will no doubt be more expensive, but seriously as perfect as it can get. Very interested to see if that's what Tak

is going to use for Primal.
