  1. Who, currently, is a source for recast 1/55 Strike parts? Specifically, I'm looking for a Strike cannon & booster, possibly wing missiles to go with them. Straight Bandai repros or custom versions, either is fine. Transrepro offers wing-missiles and other 1/55 parts, but no Strike parts. Anyone have any experience with them? http://www.transrepro.com/autobot1.htm Can anyone point me in the right direction for a Strike cannon and/or booster? I know they often pop up here in the sale section of MWF, but I was wondering if anyone was offering them as a 'regular product'. Thanks!
  2. reprolabels.com makes a repro of the old Gakken set. Perhaps they'd be willing to work with you on vector files you could adapt to the current Ride Armor toys?
  3. I was thinking - If some skilled, motivated resin casting member of the MWF community would be interested in undertaking the project, I'd be willing to loan out the vehicles from my to-be-restored Macross 1/100 Armored Factory kit for recasting. The kit includes 3 vehicles, all of which are seen at various points in the show and DYRL. One is the 6-wheeled jeep seen when Roy takes Hikaru and Minmei to Hikaru's racer plane early in the series, and at other points as well. Its on page 167 of PERFECT MEMORY, and is called a M-299. Another is a small generator-type truck for servicing Calks and Destroids, seen in MEMORY on page 166, lower inner side of the page, top vehicle in a set of 3. Third is a crane-truck which I don't recall clearly in the show, but which is parked on the street in front of UN Spacy HQ next to a Destroid Tomahawk in DYRL (although its outfitted with some sort of spray nozzle, rather than the bucket in the Factory kit version). Its in PERFECT MEMORY on page 166, center page nearer the bottom. So these are all official Macross designs. The ones from my kit are partially assembled, but I can remove the wheels and other undercut surfaces, finish the seams & etc. All I'd ask are one or two of the recasts of each. If anyone's interested, please PM me.
  4. HLJ reports that the Bandai reissue Macross kits I ordered are processing for shipment, and they've updated their listing pages with some new photos. If the actual box art is what they've got pictured, they appear to be the same as the last editions, but with the current anniversary logos.
  5. Yeah. 1/100 scale seems to have gone by the wayside these days for anime items. Its my favorite for mecha, though, space- and cost-wise.
  6. I had the Robotech edition back in high school, which I got as a chirstmas gift the year it was released. Beautiful, amazing kit which took me a month to build and probably was my all-time favorite MACROSS item ever. I eventually sold it back in the early 90s, but a couple of years ago I picked up an unpainted, mostly-complete buildup. Here it is waiting for restoration some day: I had to pick up a new 1/100 scale Armored 1J for it (got it for like $10 on eBay, so I'm not upset at the inexpensive upcoming reissues!). It even has all the decals, unused. Just missing a few barrels and I think a wheel or two on the vehicles. Note that all the trucks and service vehicles come right from official Macross design works seen in Perfect Memory and other sources, and these Armored Factory kits are the only way you can get them. The crew figures include pilots and deck crew in tiny UN Spacy uniforms & helmets (I've still got two from my original done up like Max and Hikaru!) These go for a couple hundred bucks when you can find them new, and they're worth every penny spent and every moment building.
