Sweet! Another Acid Rain fan on the board!!!
-
I preordered the RVF-171 from NY, but now I'm sorta over it.
-
-
Wouldn't that many holes seriously weaken the plastic to the point that breakage would be a QC concern?
-
Why resin and not shapeways?
-
That double base adapter is a must have. Great idea Yeti!
-
I love seeing the design process as it rolls along. Thanks! I'm stoked to order more whenever you're ready!
-
Nah, I didn't lose them. I just thought the white ones looked better as a contrast to the rest of the valk.

You can kind of see a painted version of the Kurisama gunpod carriage in the photo below. They're really top notch.
-
MW user Kurisama has some awesome gunpod loading carriages available on shapeways too!

Nice horns on the right.

I've been racing in the US for the past 10 years. Not sure what region you're in, but feel free to PM me if you're looking for any advice about racing.
Anyhow, sorry to go off topic. Back to the show, folks!

Was the package really sent as not requiring a signature? If so, you may be out of luck. If not, they have some explaining to do. Did you check with the neighbors? May have been delivered next door?
I hope not. I'm guessing that it's another screw up by FedEx. I should hear back from the sender on Monday. It's bike equipment, so I can't imagine them sending stuff that valuable without requiring a signature.

Cycling? Are you racing?

Does anyone have experience regarding how delivery disputes with FedEx turn out?
FedEx claimed they delivered a package to my house without signature. I've been home all day and it's not here. No one has come to the door.
There's already been a lot of questionable updates from the driver -- claiming my house doesn't exist, that they can't find my street (seriously, it's not that hard).
I opened a dispute with FedEx, but I'm assuming that I'm just gonna eat this one bc it's my word vs their driver, right?

I've been playing it for the past week or so. Loving it so far. I was also a huge fan of the old Fallout 1 and 2 games, so this isn't far off from the mark.
-
I just picked up some older GI Joe 1/6 figures from Sideshow. Stalker and Rock n' Roll. Haven't done much with them yet, but they're pretty damn nice so far.
-
When my VT-1's shoulders broke, I just picked up a cheap VF-1 30th valk. The black shoulders look pretty sharp on the Ostrich.
Figure you're gonna eat the $30 for shipping anyway and VT-1's aren't exactly easy to find.

Here's the parts layout form the earlier MW kit review:

PetarB mentioned to me that his online checkout and starforge email wasn't working properly. He seems to check PM's about once a week on here.

I found Plastruct Plastic Weld at my local hobby shop, which is Methyl Ethyl Ketone. It was right next to Tenax-7R and came with an applicator. It is also marketed as a plastic solvent cement. For the life of me, though, I cannot get the acrylic adapters to sit flush like the 3D printed ones. Here is a picture showing the source of the wobble I noted earlier:
I've been sanding them a bit at a time in the hope that I can tame the lip that I highlighted in red, but I'm in no rush now that the printed versions are giving me a working solution. Knowing myself, I might break something before figuring out how to fix it right. LoL! Oh well.
After getting hung up with that this morning, the stands went together pretty quickly. I should have them outfitted with Valkyries soon, and then more pictures...
Whoh buddy, be careful with that stuff. MEK is all sorts of nasty for your health.

New footage from TGS.
Happy to finally see something outside Afghanistan. Also, that helicopter towards the end that they've been using, I hope that's replaced with an actual Hind.
That looks like a modified UH-60 Blackhawk with retractable landing gear. Why would they use a Hind instead?
-
Yeti, this stand is incredible. Amazingly professional job, right down to the instructions.

Question about painting resin --
I picked up a 1/20 scale MADOX-01 resin kit online. I've done a lot of warhammer and custom action figure painting, but I'm brand new to the whole resin game.

Normally I use Testors Model Master Acryl paints for brush painting. Sometimes I mix in a few drops of future to smooth out the finish and remove streaking and brush strokes. I'm wondering if I'm I going to be able to brush paint this thing or is it going to look like garbage if I try?
Thanks!

Awesome! Very excited. I was impressed by The Punisher: Dirty Laundry, so hopefully this will be equally good.
