  1. Once a classic should stay a classic. Trying to make something new out of it just comes out as a whim. Take any new work that's following a line of great movies and it's usually been received as average or less-than-average. Take into account that people, who were much younger when they saw the original works, are now older and far more discerning in today's world. Couple that with the gullible kids who don't know their right from their left and think that Patton was a rocket-launcher wielding psycopath in the Revolutionary War (Yes, I have gotten this exact answer when I asked a neighbor kid who do they think Gen. George S. Patton was) and they'll think the remakes are better than the originals.

  2. I'm surprised this hasn't been put on the forums yet.

Personal opinion, I have both hopes and doubts about it. My hopes is that Ridley Scott will do good things with this prequel, that I finally get to see space jockey's in action, and that the new alien design will be scary as hell. I want to be cringing in my seat from suspenseful horror if it goes just right. Now my doubts. There's been a flood of prequels, sequels, remakes, and generally unoriginal ideas coming out in 2011 and 2012 from Hollywood that it's getting pretty sickening. Prometheus would be on that list following a tiresome list of bad sequels and crossovers. It may not even be a rated-R film by the time of release either since Scott is doing both R and PG13 cuts. It's going to be a major buzzkill if it was released as a PG13 film and then the R-rated cuts were saved to DVD - I want my violence and gore in the dark, foreboding theatre, damnit! Anyways, that's my two cents.

  3. what about the killer whale from Orca (1977)? He/it systematically and maliciously kills off all the protagonists' crew and friends--oh wait, he just maims Bo Derek--before finally killing off his nemesis, captain Nolan (Richard Harris).

There is very strong evidence that not only can killer whales form cooperative strategies and work as a "team" to catch prey, but they can also display somewhat sadistic tendencies, toying with a victim before killing/feeding. So maybe a whale on a revenge kick isn't all that fanciful, eh? Rather frightening, when one thinks about it, at just how smart and calculating one of those buggers might be....

ed: on second thought, don't think seeking to avenge the murder of his family really qualifies him/it as a "bad guy."

**eeek! eeeek! (you bastard! you killed my wife! you killed my baby!)**

It's a tricky question. Change out the species and you get Law Abiding Citizen with Leonidas hacking and slashing a paralyzed child molester. Yet, would vengeance count as being bad?

    (lol)

  4. (I'm new)

Wishful thinking, but it would be cool to have some co-op if they were to make a full game. Maybe even flight v. flight or squadron v. squadron multiplayer? One thing is for sure though, I'll be spending some time going over custom paint schemes. :3
