  2. I bought one from rt.com in december but i'm pretty sure it was a website goof as i was never charged and obviously received nothing.

I am not trying to be insulting, just asking. Did you complete the checkout? You should have been charged as you placed the order.

Or did you complete the order and they refunded your payment?

Their on-line customer service blows. I hope either way it was resolved.

  4. Why do so many people hate the human characters in this show? I like them just fine.

Partly due to M. Bay. When it should be called "Sam Witwickey" and not Transformers.

If you watch the first two movies, the Transformers are harley in the film. As a Transformers fan, I'd like to see a series that focuses on the Transformers. I don't give a crap about Sam crying about this or that. Or the dumb @ss M. Bay jokes. Just give me the Transformers.

The humans have become the "Snarf"* of Transformers. The annoying, not funny comic relief.

If you're going to have humans, they should have some major significance to the storyline other than "it takes place on Earth" or for comic relief.

*I was referring to the Snarf of the OLD SCHOOL Thundercats. The new version of Thundercats is awesome, and Snarf is acceptable in that show.

  5. A very nice poster, emphasises the technological rather than the splatter for once. But just one last thing.

The title.....for the prequel to the film "The Thing"........is "The Thing".......

Would have been fair enough if it was just a remake.

Try to think of it like this. This is a prequel to JC's The Thing. Both films are about a creature that can mimic anything it consumes...

So, it's mostly fitting that it has the same title.

    Mostly.

  6. Hi guys, I was wondering if there has ever been a 1/60 or 1/48 scale Destroid Spartan?

Ive seen the Tomahawk and Defender but that seems to be it for Destroid love.

There's a 1:60 Phalanx on the horizon. I think I read a February release date, but I can't seem to verify where I read that right now. Maybe someone on the boards can help.

I think the biggest Spartan you can get is the 1/72. You can find them for cheap once in a while on eBay.

I hope Yamato does do a 1:60 Spartan. Their Tomahawk and Defender and AMAZING, and I am STOKED about the Phalanx (although it's rumored to be a MODEL only, like the Battlepod-aka Regult, and 1:2000 SDF-1). And while we're at it, let's hope for a 1:60 Monster too. :)

  7. JENIUS - Read the whole review again -you deserve much props for the work you do. Amazing.

I think it bares noting again that Toynami somehow FORGOT to make their book-style binding art into one picture - ie having Scott's left elbow go over onto Rand's art, so that when you stack them all together it makes one image. Its obvious Rand is looking over at Scott - I just don't see how this is missed in production! Didn't matter that much in the end since we never got to see the Rook and Lancer versions where the mosaic image would have really stuck out. Baffling... Its even on the Rand card included! See attached pic!! Scott's arm covers up what I feel like is an awkward arm pose of Rand reaching for his gun too, which make me wish they hadn't missed this even more...

The other thing that bugs me is Scott's face on the binding, it looks like a rabbit or hamster face. I have not heard that complaint from anyone else though.

Speaking of faces - I feel like the Toynami head sculpts are FAR better the the Japanese releases. Ray looks like a Who from Whoville. Stick looks jaundice.

The matt high end plastics Beagle used still cause me to grin everytime I look at the product. They NAILED the aqua and green colors so spot on. Love the little details like a Galant power switch seen so often in the show - awesome.

Wish they would have made the boot middle lights and chest lights out of the same translucent plastic they did on ray's beam cannon.

Still have hope that Yamato will pick up the work done on Fuke and start there - moving onto Yellow if that is successful for them. I bet they have the mold work and packaging already. Yeah, yeah - I know... that's like holding out that Ridley Scott will make another Alien movie - or we'll see a Blade Runner 2 - Oh wait...

There are a few websites I go to prior to making a large Robotech / Macross / Mospeada purchase, and anymoon.com is one of them.

Not only are the pictures great, but the reviews are well broken up into specific categories, the rating system is great and the written reviews are logical and well written. Don't always 100% agree with Jenuis, but you do have to hand it to him, his site rocks.

  8. what makes the blue masterpiece alpha rare? or at least more rare than the others?

BOTH the Blue and the Red Alpha fighters are rare in the Robotech Masterpiece line. You can't find EITHER for sale anywhere (other than auction sites, or in SD's for sale forum)!

There is two reasons for this. One, they are both SOLD OUT everywhere. You can still find the Lancer and the Shadow Fighter (Sue), but the Red (Rook, Volume 2) and the Blue (Scott, Volume 1) are long, long gone.

And the second reason for the recent increased value of the Robotech Alpha Fighters is because Toynami released the Masterpiece Beta Fighters to accompany the Alphas.

In time, the Green (Lancer, Volume 3) and the Black (Sue, Volume 4) will be sold out and will go up in value too.

    Hope this helps!

  9. Just came in today, so far i love it it makes the fire valkyrie look cooler. the one thing that bugged me was the way you have to get the 3 pegs to come out for attaching to battroid mode, also the sound booster makes it heavier so a lot more stress on the thigh joints. but dont let that keep you from buying it because it is an awsome addition.

Never been a fan of the fire valk, but after looking at that picture with the sound booster attached...wow. That is just crazy wicked! Makes me want to get one now!

  10. Grocery Stores will give you produce boxes. They are LARGE and often thick, heavy duty boxes. FREE.

Also, check places like: Sam's Club or COSTCO. PLETHORA of various boxes, also FREE.

Try SEARS, or other places that sell LARGE APPLIANCES. Sears often throws away boxes for Microwaves, Demo Computers, Vacuum cleaners, ect that will fit the 1:48's. FREE.

    Hope this helps!
