  1. Bu....t gee.. a.. duh...wouldn't a 1/48 SDF-1 be the same size as a 1/48 VF-1...I dunno ?

i'll give you a minute to think about that.;)

Heh, i think he meant and 1/1 scale VF-1

uh no duh gosh no ...I really meant a 1/48... They'd have to be the same size...do the math

   ;)

    you're kidding right?

here are the stats from macross compendium:

    VF-1

    Battroid mode:

    Height overall: 12.68 m

    Width overall: 7.3 m

    Wing span: fully extended 20° 14.78 m

    Length overall: 4 m

    SDF-1

    Dimensions, metres:

    length 1210 m

    width 496 m

    height 312 m

    here ya go!

now divide it by 48... ;)

    VF-1 Battroid Height ~ 0.26 m ~ 26 cm

    SDF-1 Battroid Height (Ship Length) ~ 25 m ~ 2500 cm

    did the math. :)

hmm... I think ur still confused. <_<

Of course I'm kidding. duh ;)

I'd like to see an SDF-1. 1/3000 or 1/4000 scale would be fine with me. Will Yamato make it? Who knows..

just admit it...you weren't really thinking when you asked that ridiculously silly and borderline moronic question :D

at some piont you finally said to yourself ..."holy crap, they're right! let me try and cover my ass by saying i was just joking"

  2. :(

what can i say, he was my hero when i was a kid, and an inspiration now that i am a man.

but before his accident and after his accident I always saw a superman

now however, i trully see that he was a man of steel :)

thanks for making us strong when we were weak as children, and thanks for defining what kind of men we should aspire to become...

    you will trully be missed

i don't know if there is a heaven, but may you fly high in the next stage of exsistense

    -Fly high Christopher Reeves- :D

  3. i had one when i was a kid also.

or at least, i had one for 24 hours, that thing was the ugliest thing i had ever seen in my life!!!!! <_<

1985 was the year that i realized the gross difference between box art and the actual toy!!! <_< i remeber on the way home from buying it i uttered these words in front of my dad for the first time, when i saw how big and ugly the cockpit was "what the fuc.....k is this!" needless to say i got a little smack for that! what can i say i was really young!!! :p

in any event, in the early days of robotech (1985), my forum was on the reccess playground, so i quickly traded it for an Omega supreme!!!!!

I realized that i came out the winner on that deal because if any of you remember, omega supreme was not only much more expensive, it was also very hard to find that year!!!! :D

  4. I own about 12 1/48's and some times they are a bit to big looking, when comapred to the rest of my pieces.

dear God man... thats almost $2,000.00 in toys if you consider shipping and tax.. either your real rich or real.. nevermind. :)

yeah i know...i know... but thankfully i have the means ... see a lesson to all you kids out there B))

it is good to stay in school and go to college!!!! :D

  5. well like you guys, i feel that the 1/60 have the overall proportion correct.

love the canopy better on the 1/60's because it does not buldge out like in the 1/48's and i also think that the chest area on the 1/48 is way out of proportion.

the 1/60's on the other hand got it just right!

as I have stated before i don't play with my collection ( that's just silly  )

so i can careless about perefect trasnformation than i do about poseability and presentation.

though i have to admit that the 1/48's do look awsome in a diorama type set-up :D

I own about 12 1/48's and some times they are a bit to big looking, when comapred to the rest of my pieces.

still i am such a completest that i plan collect both lines in all three modes including past packs

  6. cool,

thanks omega, is it ok to use future in an air brush? also do you have any pics of models that you have completed to showcase?

any pics would be great! :D

  7. oh,

almost fogot, do you apply the clear coat to the wind-shield ect.... to seal in the decals as well???????

and does the clear coat need to be treated, i.e. thinned when used in the airbrush?

    thanks again. :D

  8. thanks,

wm cheng, for the lates tips and the compliments, coming from a master like you that is really something :p:D:lol:

also thanks to omega one , i will go and get some clear coat this weekend and do a clear coat.

i will be starting on the SV-51 and post some pics soon.

  9. thanks,

no I used no base paint, I just did the oil wash and that is what i got, as far as the lines at the nosecone, i really wanted to make the nosecone somewhat more weathered than the rest of the fusalage, as i have noticed in some real jets that the nosecones always look a bit burned or blackend. :p

must be because the nose pierces the atmosphere first during supersonic flight. :D

    anyway glad you like. :D

  10. well,

i'm really high on these hasegawa kits with more on the way!!! tomm i'm gonna start on the SV-51

    with a YF-19 on the way, a YF-21, VF-0A, and a VF-0B i'm gonna be really busy,

but i will post some more pics when i am finished with those kits :D

also like to thank weng for all the great tips!!!

also if you check the trade section i am looking to trade a Yamato launch arm for some hasegawa kits , the specific kits I will trade for are in the trade section :D

thanks for all the compliments guys, will post pics of the SV-51 soon!!! :D
