Even Ms. Leavitt is impressed with your four Olsen specials.
Gotta say I like the old darker color more.

1/144 VF-1s meet N scale Patlabor on city block.

Tread is really impressive. Love the engineering. Effective and clean. Sturdy build. Connection with Legioss is much better than the Toynami or the CMs. Can even have tread in soldier mode combined with Legioss in fighter mode without any support.

Is the latest Macross F All Time Best Nyan Nyan Greatest Hits limited gift set worth it? I already have most of the songs in CDs (from the 2008 Macross F Vocal Collection, 2010 Cosmic Cuune, and 2021 labyrinth of time), so would be buying mostly for the extras. I haven't done a dive on whether there are songs I don't already have.

I asked my friend but he said the standees were sold out within minutes. Gosh I hope it didn’t go to scalpers only. I wanted the set!!!

I just received mine from EKnightmedia. Two issues:
1. slightly bent antennae near the tip, I can live with this
2. I don't know the proper terminology to describe them, but there are two small fins in the bottom front side of the bird, one on each side. I believe my copy has two left fins. The right one was already popped out when I remove the YF-21 from the tray. When I pop the right fin back in, it doesn't swivel at all like the left one does, which is when I realized I received two left fins. It does fit but the fin would be closer to vertical unlike the other one.
Has anyone dealt with Eknight media before on issues like this?
Bluefin finally sent me replacement part, except it’s a nice surprise. Instead of sending me a replacement antenna and fins, they sent me the entire valk instead. They put the valk in the plastic tray and sent it in a shipping box. Yes, the antenna and the fins on the replacement valk were all good. Props to Bluefin. It took a looong time but they delivered.

I got my copy of the Mikimoto book today. It's so thick and uses high quality paper. Each page feels substantially thick. This is only my second Mikimoto book so I'm pretty happy!
I gotta say though, I enjoy his art from the 1980's the most. It seems over time his taste and mine grew further apart.
Out of the more modern pieces, I like the ones from Macross Ace the best. Otherwise, 1980's stuff please!
I noticed that the book does include the fantastic new Ishtar sketch that Mikimoto made for the patch/acrylic stand that would be included in the Macross II kickstarter blu-ray campaign. So something new!

Ah thank you. I’ve seen the product listing before but didn’t expect it to look that nice next to the Yamato. Perhaps it’ll be easier to tell it’s paper craft in person or at different angle. Very nice color scheme. I wish I have the skill time and patience.

Which company made that TV SDF-1?
That Yamato monster looks nice. Never picked up one.

I am getting more and more doubts on this. Yes I want all the products. But even Bandai has never released more than one or two products in the same line at the same time. KC is telling us they are taking preorders for 7 mechs and at least 4 figures without a prototype to show for it and asking for large amount of payment based on sketches.

I was really impressed with the soundtrack. The vocal tracks were amazing.

My brother is getting back into Macross after 30 years thanks to the streaming on Hulu. I recommended him to start with zero, then plus, then go straight to Frontier. He asked about 7, I said it's really hard to watch unless you're a big Macross fan. While there are some charming moments, the plot just does not move forward much. Then he said, oh that sounds great, because he can watch it in the background and not worry about missing key moments.

My first release limited edition from yokakunow just arrived. No poster. It does come with the A4 size acrylic board with Mikimoto's illustration on it, the '84 summer badge, and the "signed" screenplay.

To me the biggest change is the colors, really makes it pop like cels. However, not all is good, the shot with Miria, her green hair seems oversaturated, so is the skin tone of one of the Minmay shots. There are shots where the 2016 version looks better, but for the most part this 4k release looks better.

Thank you all! Good info

I have a standalone Disney+ subscription without Hulu and I can view the Macross series available to the U.S. using either the website or app through my TV.
Oh this is good to know! THank you. Sounds like you only need either Disney+ or Hulu by itself and a bundle is not required.
-
I canceled my Disney+ subscription awhile back. Question: Do you need the Disney+ / Hulu bundle to see Macross shows? Or would just the Disney+ subscription do the trick?
-
Side question, is there any trick to get the flashback bluray that came with the Japanese DYRL to play in US bluray players? Mine would not play. The DRYL disc was fine though.

This section is focused on Macross. Mospeada has its own thread in the anime section:
There are some discussions on the Moshow Cyclone toward the end of the thread.

Ha, I passed, ain't nobody for the time to build this thing!
If you send one my way, I'd be happy to build it and deliver the finished product to you across the bay.

I'm glad to see they used a current conversion rate when pricing the tread on amazon US. It'll be about the same or cheaper than ordering from Japan even with taxes.
