  1. I got my VF-1J Hikaru from Amiami as well and asked for the unregistered SAL shipping for it which costed me something like 1500yens (but it also included shipping of an EnergerZ SOC figure so the VF1J alone should be cheaper). Btw how much bigger is the VF-19S's box compared the VF-1J's?

6500 yens really isn't bad at all for the VF-1S and the parts apparently come with super or strike types. The shape of the head lasers on the pictures do seem a little off to me but these might just be the soft vinyl ones which looked a bit goofy on the 1J too.

  2. From what I understand of the CAD pictures of the chest area, the upper chest does lock to the lower part of the body by inserting the neck plate into the nosecone, very nice if so!

It's looking a bit strange so far though, the head seems a tad too big to me but I must admit I never watched that Macross series so it may be just me

  3. Nothing flopping on mine either, but the backpack was annoying me a little bit in battroid mode until I pressed it down a little and it also locked the hinged panel on the back of the head in closed position.

I'm overall very pleased with this toy, it's really fun to pose and looks great in all modes, a very expressive figure that makes me want to collect more of these hi-metal valks. And the Hi-metal YF-21 prototype is definitely on the top of my wishlist

  4. Great review as usual, Jenius

As to comparing your pictures with the lineart I think it's a great idea.

Though there might be some linearts (like the one of battroid VF-1J for example) that I'm very happy that this toy doesn't follow too closely... the Toynami looks closer to that battroid lineart to me :)

I also just received a VF-1J w. super parts from the HLJ sale offer from a few weeks ago and a shoulder snapped on the first transformation... it still looks great in battroid on the shelf but that arm is only waiting to fall off next time I touch it

Hopefully the Bandai VF is more user friendly and also looks more fun to pose in battroid
