I'll echo Gubaba with: I was also "reading" untranslated manga by the beginning of Junior High School or Senior High School....

I guess Gubaba and you are talented then, because I've tried, really, and the only thing I got was frustration, It's like spoiling yourself while "reading" or watching something. I know a few words (spoken) and expressions in japanese, but I cant figure out anything with just spare words.

I´d buy official Macross material if it was translated to english anytime. (it's clear that my native language is not english though)

So you understood everything without knowing japanese? I wish I was from that generation then, at that age I could barely differenciate one "symbol" from another.

I've completed several japanese games though, even RPG's, since you can get used to them very quick after trying all the options.

Why not? I started buying manga when I was 13, well before I started studying Japanese, and it was usually pretty easy to follow the stories.

Well...the good news is that nearly all of the comics (except for Macross 7th Code and some of the gag mangas) have been collected in book form, so you don't need to download scans, you can buy them legally.

I was joking, I'd buy other art/visual books/master files but not something that you need to follow a story in a language that I can't understand (yet)
