  1. I'm not going to revisit the reverse-engineering topic for VF-17, but these two designs are very different like YF-19 and VF-19

    Experten's 1/100 scale perfect transformation VF-17 and VF-171

  2. Yep, they said the site was on maintenance.

Anime News Network is currently offline. Our network host is doing some "emergency maintenance" and, as a result, the site is offline. We are currently outside of the maintenance window we were informed of,so we do not have an estimated time for the site to be back online, however we expect it to be no more than a couple hours.

  3. I'll echo Gubaba with: I was also "reading" untranslated manga by the beginning of Junior High School or Senior High School....

I guess Gubaba and you are talented then, because I've tried, really, and the only thing I got was frustration, It's like spoiling yourself while "reading" or watching something. I know a few words (spoken) and expressions in japanese, but I cant figure out anything with just spare words.

I´d buy official Macross material if it was translated to english anytime. (it's clear that my native language is not english though)

I will study and do the right thing, and support my loved Macross as your signature says, but for now...

  4. Again, I was THIRTEEN when I was "reading" manga...pretty much everyone my age who was into anime and manga in the '80s was forced to do the same, and we were all okay.

I wonder what the problem now is?

So you understood everything without knowing japanese? I wish I was from that generation then, at that age I could barely differenciate one "symbol" from another.

I've completed several japanese games though, even RPG's, since you can get used to them very quick after trying all the options.

    Enough sad chat-talk :D

  5. Why not? I started buying manga when I was 13, well before I started studying Japanese, and it was usually pretty easy to follow the stories.

    Same with anime.

    I've tried but I can't, I hate to depend on fansubs :(

  6. Well...the good news is that nearly all of the comics (except for Macross 7th Code and some of the gag mangas) have been collected in book form, so you don't need to download scans, you can buy them legally. ^_^

I was joking, I'd buy other art/visual books/master files but not something that you need to follow a story in a language that I can't understand (yet)

    Same for movies/anime
