The story is suppose to be a cross between the Invasion comics and LLA. No notes as to if there's going to be new animations, and or otherwise. It has been mentioned that there will be a lot of flashbacks to the New Generation events.

I've never heard speculation that Macross F enemy designs were based off of Robotech Inorganics before the last few post. That's stupid. They aren't even similar in appearance.

Smegalot makes a lot of sense. Something that I have posted everywhere as well. I feel Robotech needs to wrap up the SC, with the release of SR, and a final film closing out the Rick Hunter story arc, and giving up the core Macross/ Mospeada designs., and other borrowed aspects. Thus giving it the freedom to head out on its own.

the lads over at rtx are saying that the new animation will be based off of the Robotech: Invasion comics, mixed with the Invid Character Sera.

The bottom line is that there isn't an ounce of original creativity with the peeps at HG. Or if there is, they're so afraid of failure to risk even testing something out. Ill refer to the original Macross, then to Lovers again. Afterwhich Plus was released, then 7, and so on. My point is that the people behind Macross kept throwing great stuff out there, even if one series didn't perform as well as its previous series counterpart. It takes creativity and gumption to put something out that your base wants, Macross continues to do that. Whereas Robotech won't, because they're afraid of failure. Which is why WB shouls take total control of the RT franchise and any other agreeeements/arangements attched to it, and do something better than what HG has done.

The only franchise I can recall over the last 10 yrs from the 80's who's plans did not work out as they had hoped was the He-Man franchise from '02 to '03, (again, that I can recall). Even still He-Man never really fell flat on it's face (with movie still in talks). Neither did the Care Bears, etc. What 80's remakes failed that Kev is referring to? Damn, I'm not a Robotech hater, but this banter from the HG people is really annoying. Why can't they just shut the F**K up and put out new material?

I think the people saying Robotech needs a reboot are more just mecha anime fans saying they would love to see a new and good mecha anime that proves successful in the US Market (and possibly gets HG to stop being such a Macross monkey). It's not necessarily about Robotech and it's certainly not because we want HG to be successful or believe their current creative staff has the ability to pull that off. When I imagine a reboot of Robotech it's complete with a competent staff at the helm. I wish WB had bought Robotech free and clear

I agree. RT should be bought out from under HG and made into something more. Tired people do the same old thing all the time. HG has gotta go for that franchise to get right again.

Robotech doesn't need to be rebooted. It needs to be taken out behind the barn, and put out of its miisery.

yes. that or someone needs to win millions in the lottery, buy the RT franchise from HG and do the right thing to it. Yet another year with nothing new from RT.

Here are the pics of the CM Dark Bartley with the Megahouse Dark Stick Missiles on the left forearm plate. She also a a further modification with a hole drilled through her right foot so that she can use the Megahouse stands for support. Also the painted (I wish I was a better painter) Megahouse Dark Stick Missiles on the Megahouse Ray.

Thanks guys. Ill be picking out a paint for the missiles on the left forearm. I did take the other missile launchers from the Dark Stick and I put it on the forearm of the CM Corp. Dark Bartley. Once I have a chance ill ad those pics too.

I got my MH Ray and with a Junker Dark Stick. Together, I changed Ray from what he was, to what he should've been.

Tweaks:

a- Interchanged hard rubber tires from the rims of the Dark Stick to the Ray.

b- Opened helmet of Dark Stick and replaced it with outer componets and visor of Ray. Head now has full rotation.

c- Armed Ray's left forearm with Dark Stick Missile(needs paint).

d- Attempted to change out elbows but I need more material. The forearms are constructed differently.

Overall, I like the toy much more. Here are some pics.

If you use Alchemy anything is possible but you may have to sacrifice something of equal value.

It didnt take Alchemy, but it works. The CM Legioss can connect to the Toynami Beta/ Aoshima Tread! It works for all three configurations. I took a few more pics of the Dark Legioss I have with the Aoshima and posted on my flickr page if you want to see further details. Sorry but I dont know how to do the link thing successfully. I hope now that the Toynami Shadow Beta cancellation is not true.

Can that fist retract into the forearm like the regular hands?

Not properly. The cover sticks out a bit when you do. I detach the gun with hand in and fold the tab back and keep the hand in the gun while in armo fighter.

Hi. I want to know if a CM Legioss can connect to a Toynami Beta legitimately? I have a CM Dark Legioss and no Dark Tread to connect it to. I'd like to eventually purchase the Toynami Shadow Beta to go with it since there are no CM versions. Thanks!

Dude, I hope you didn't start with that VF-25 yet, as I've got a better starting point for you. Try using the King Size YF-10 or YF-11 Type Yi fighter from the <i>Astro Plan</i> series. It's only US$27.99 + shipping and it looks closer to the Valkyrie II than the Messiah.

Actuall I didnt start yet because I want the 1/60 Tornado Pack with the VF-25F. I thought it looked cool and resembled even more so a VF-2SS with Super Strike Parts. I do think that the ASTRO PLAN stuff would be good as a tester. Will post once I get the toy.

The project is off for a couple of weeks as some adjustments have to be made. My trip to NY was mainly family related and took up most of my time, but I had a day to peruse the shops in hopes of finding a VF-25F in a decent price range for the project. The prices I found in the city were more than what the 1/60 cost on amazon.com. So with some searching and rethinking Ill be getting the VF-25F in the 1/100 size, and 3/4 less in cost than the 1/60. I will have pics up once it arrives and I begin.

I've had a similar notion, with changing its transformation to copy that of the VF-1. More because I've been thinking of creating a VF-24 out of it. The VF-25's transformation is very complicated and wouldn't fit if the design was too radically different.

Though I'm not thinking of the VF-24 shown in the series. I've had an idea in my head about a Macross story dealing with a previous lost Long Range Fleet.

In this fleet, the VF-24 was originally created, then lost when the fleet disappeared. The design was later picked up by - whatever that companies name was - and reworked. So it was created, lost, picked up and reworked into the new prototype 24 shown in the series, then reworked again to create the 25 and 27.

I'll be interested to see how you do it, seeing as this is unknown country for me.

Thanks Thom. Im leaving tomorrow for NYC, and hopefully Ill return with a decently priced VF-25s. I was thinking of slight retooling and physical modifcations initially. After all a) it is normally a $125.00 and up piece. b) I am a novice when it comes to this. and c) I want it to resemble the VF-2ss, appearing more as direct upgrade, but not a complete conversion of the 25s to the 2ss. With more experience I would attempt a direct conversion, possibly after this venture. We'll see where it goes though. Thanks for your feedback on the idea.

That color looks real good. Why don't you just put a clear gloss coat over it instead of removing it and redoing it with another paint coat? The clear gloss coat will help protect the color coat as well.

I honestly didnt think about that. Thank you! I do it after I come back from NYC (hopefully with a nicely priced VF-25s) and post a pic or two of the end result.

I'm interested to see what you come up with! The transformation is so radically different I'm curious to see how you retool it.

Yes there are some very distictive differences from the two. However I do see what I consider to be some similarities which caused me to come up with the idea. I see the VF-25s as a (in)direct modified VF-2ss. I appreciated the VF-25s but wasnt in love with it, but I did love the VF-2ss. I grew frustrated with not have a 1/60 of the VF-2ss, so Im off to make the closest thing I can. Here is some of the retooling Im planing so far just to give you an idea:

Feet:

Sanding and repainting the feet of the 25s to match the 2ss

Body:

The whole body of the 25s will be repainted white, and then detailed in the color scheme of the 2ss

Head:

Repainting the head of the 25s to match the 2ss. Also adding the red jewel.

Weapon:

The weapon will probably just be repainted.

Joints will be repainted as well to match.

Other tweaks with regards to retooling will or may be made as well once I get the mech in hand from NYC. Thank you for your positive feedback.

Thanks for all the cool support on the strike cannon thing for my MPC. Thanks especially for not hammering me on the Toynami thing as well. For my next project I will be traveling to NYC to hopefully buy in hand a 1/60 VF-25s. My ambition is to repaint, and possibly retool the VF-25s to look like a modified vf-2ss of Macross II. Let me know what you think of my idea. Pics of progress will come to follow.

I painted a first draft of the cannon with a color that I found. I put it on the YF-1R so that it would stand out a bit more. The paint is a semi-gloss so it will be coming off.

This is my first partial successful kitbash. I wanted a strike cannon for my Robotech MPC, (I did'nt want to pick up any Yamatos due to two bad experiences with the brand.) so through networking I met nightmareb4macross of macrosswold.com who had taken the 1/55 Bandai cannon and remolded it to fit the Toynami 1/55. I purchased the original mold from him and casted the base of the missile launcher detachment from the Appendix thruster. When the mold was cast I attached the cannon to the base and allowed it to dry. Here is what the partial end result looks like.
