  1. I've been around my share of US naval aircraft, and David's right - you don't so much see the panel lines , especially from a distance. Stains, paint patch-ups and (if the light's right) screws and rivets ... but panel lines tend to disappear til you're right up on 'em. If anything, you notice more the way the metal skin fits over the 'skeleton" of the plane/helo ... but even that's subtle and depends on the angle of the light. That said, a model looks toylike if it's faithful to what you would see on the real thing from the appropriate scale distace away. (IMO, of course) I really like the way you've approached weathering this bird, Wm. If mine looks half as good I'll be quite pleased. Very nicely done.
  2. You haven't tried making the cut-away Enterprise whole, have you?
  3. Or gap-filling superglue, or gap-filling epoxy putty ....
  4. I'll toot my own horn, if I may: www.starshipmodeler.com has a number of basics articles. See also our discussion board -- you can read the "Construction" and "Finishing" sections of the "Modeling BAsics" forum without registering (actually, you can read most of the forums without registering, at that -- but if you want to post, you have to register) -- www.starshipmodeler.net I'm not familiar with the particular kit you mention, but if it's like the rest of the mosepeda plastic kits I have, it should be a straightforward build. You'll need a hobby knife orsome sort of cutters (to free the parts from their trees), some plastic glue, fine grades of sandpaper and some putty ... and whatever paints you want to use. Then, it's just a matter of starting at step one and putting tab A in slot B .....
  5. Yeah, it was time I de-lurked ... been auditing these forums for a while, off and on, and especially wmcheng's online builds. I welcome any and pretty much all model entries for posting on Starship Modeler. All I ask is you read the submission guidelines first -- makes it easier on me (and easier on me = faster posting) http://www.starshipmodeler.com/admin/guide.htm
  6. I can only post what I get - and alas, I don't get a lot of Macross. I would very much like to post your previous on-line builds, with your permission and that of the owners of this forum- I do believe TER-OR has agreed to do the necessary compiling. With links to here and your site, and copyrighted to you, of course....
