  1. yep! each of my M&M cost me about that including delivery from YJA.. serious stuff this Macross collection addiction! :o

I know what you mean. I was keeping an eye on the two from Mandarake just in case the ones from eBay don't pan out. I probably woulda bought them a few days ago if I didn't swoop on the M&M auctions from esthertool. We'll see if they're the real deal soon. They just arrived in SF :D

  2. OK guys. I have a VF-1D unassembled kit, and I'm trying to figure out what it's worth. It's in the original packaging and all that, with all the parts. I'm not really looking to sell it but I'm curious if anyone knows how much they go for? If I see another one, I'd like to get one, but I don't want to walk into something that's way too overpriced. The problem is, I haven't seen any for sale since I got mine over a year ago (partially because I wasn't looking). Thanks for your help.

I seem to remember one selling on eBay for around $200, but the listing ended in January, so I can't substantiate that.

  3. It really is friggin epic and friggin huge, and although the HMR Regult is better (only as a playable toy), every 1/60 collection deserves one 1/60 Regult (the sculpt is beautiful and it scales just perfect with the 1/60 VF-1). I don't want to let them go but one day one of them could go to a new home, who knows?? ;)

All parts were first cleaned with warm water and soap to get rid of the mold release agent. All the little flash that was present was cut/sanded away and then the build began (the legs were puttied to get rid of the seam lines) I carefully masked all subassemblies and then I started painting it. I gave it 3/4 light coats with spray cans and after that 3 matte clear coats. Just the feet, lower and upper legs had the halves that form them glued and puttied because I didn't want any seam lines running along the legs. The rest of the kit was put together without any glue (Yamato designed an interlocking mechanism for all the parts.) It took me two and a half years to finish it because we bought a new house with my wife, then my first son was born and then we added a second story to the house (all in between).

If you take the crotch armor away you can squeeze him in ;)

Thanks for the synopsis, Ignacio :)

I've gotta get around to commissioning someone to put mine together someday :p

  4. That's a steal! I wonder if there is any issue with it or someone just didn't know how much to price it..

That's what I don't understand. They have one for sale now at ¥50,000, but the link posted shows an ¥8,000 sold item. The Low Vis I just bought doesn't show up as a "Sold Out" item, but they show one at ¥20,000 (not what I payed). Can anyone clarify this for me?

  5. I got to the confirmation page on HLJ, but when I check my account's order history, it isn't there!! Did i just get screwed?!

It takes a while to get in their system. When you receive the confirmation email, it'll be in your order history.

  6. Yes it's really huge!!! The HM Regult performs better as a toy but the HDP Yamato Regult is very impossing and has greater shelf presence. I also like it's proportions better.

I should start building the other one I have.

If you do, it would be great to see the build process from start to finish. I only wish I had the skill to build mine as well as yours turned out.

  7. Episode #35 when Kamjin steals an engine for his ship from a factory. He uses the Glaug feet-claws to pick up the engine.

Moments before his Christmas attack Minmay gets a bad feeling and drops a pineapple. Once again reinforcing the evil omen of the pineapple.

Very cool! Thanks for that! I couldn't remember seeing the claws in action.
