  1. glad it's getting resolved, but that is a really high price for a DYRL 1A Max.

They've actually been pretty pricey for the past several months. It was the last double I needed for my collection, and I payed hell trying to find one with a clear canopy. Ended up settling for one with a pretty busted up box, but the toy was factory fresh, and the canopy was crystal clear, as described. Now, if I could only find someone to sell me a box in good condition :(

  2. I don't know if this was mentioned yet but, if one goes all the way to first page of this thread, it's interesting to note that Bandai had the super packs painted in Yamato/Hasegawa style on their pre-pro Max/Millia models. So, somewhere along the line, somebody decided to make the change and/or was told to make the change.

Good point, Vifam7. I totally forgot Bandai had teased us with these before the line had officially started. I'm assuming this was before the 1/72 kits we're out? I wonder what changed their mind.

I'm not bothered Bandai's interpretation of the paint scheme, but I'm not liking the grey they used in lieu of white :(

  3. Got home to greet the three new additions to my VF-1 Valkyrie collection!

All three boxes are in perfect zero crease or damage condition! all three Valkyrie are in 100% perfect condition with NO broken shoulders! all have perfect rainbow canopies!

Also I must apologize as I made an error about the other three I already have.. they too all have rainbow canopies. Not sure how I got that wrong as its quite clearly visible!? I blame the lighting in my cabinets..

When I get a chance I will start moving things around in order to make the Max & Milia wedding display as planned.. so in the meantime, here are some photos to enjoy!

Yeah, I'm quite envious of your six brownies. Nice score, spanner. I'm glad everything arrived in good order. Jungle has always come through for me as well.

Now get on that display already :p

  4. I've checked the three TV brownies that I already have and none of them have broken shoulders. And the one which has a rainbow canopy shows no signs of cracking either thankfully.

So here's hoping that the three coming don't have any issues either. Touch wood!

I haven't had any troubles with stuff that I've bought from Jungle or Mandarake but I'll certainly be keeping my fingers crossed..

Wait, only one of your TV brownies has the tinted canopy? The other 2 are completely clear??? Was there a reissue?

  5. im excited for them but also a little nervous about the condition of their shoulders etc..

    I'd be excited too :D

I thought they were generally considered "safe". Have any of your first 3 given you issues?

The only thing I'd be slightly worried about would be the canopy tint. I love the way it looks when it stays put, but it's really unsightly when it starts to crack :(

I wouldn't worry too much though. Out of all tinted 1/60s I have, only 1 has an issue that I wasn't aware of before purchasing, and it had definitely been displayed before.

I'm looking forward to some photos. Rainbow Road or not, 6 CFs and a Virgin Road should make for one sweet display!

  6. As of now I have 14 Regults, 3 Glaugs, 2 Monsters, 10 CF VF-1As, 1 CF VF-1J, 2 VF-1J Hikarus, 2 VF-1S Strike Hikarus, 3 VF-1S Strike Roys, and 2 Armored VF-1Js. Also have 3 VF-1J Maxs, 3 VF-1J Mirias, and 3 missile effects on preorder. Keep it coming Bandai and I'll continue buying.

Dayum!!! I thought I had a lot of Regults, but you've doubled that!

    Great...now I need more Regults :p

  7. Why ddi Kurt get out of it? I imagine it was just a lot of work for little returns?

He did some really nice work, shame he isn't doing it anymore or someone else pick up where he left off.

I think he was considering working on a 1/48 GBP-1S as a personal project. I can't wait to see how it turns out if he's decided to do so.

  8. Have we gotten confirmation that the regult light/heavy missles will be add-ons? Ie, do I need to buy a 3rd regult?

I read "REGULT MISSILE TYPE SET" and just assumed we'd be getting the missile parts only. I'll try not to worry about it too much (yeah right) until we get some more solid evidence.

I actually really hope I'm wrong in that assumption... weren't each of the missile types supposed to have different Zentradi characters on the hull? That, and I don't think I have enough Regults to spare as if yet :p

  9. Dang...with the 2 recent Web Shop exclusives (money up front with NY) and standard issues receiving a slightly earIy release, I've been hurling money at Bandai lately...not a complaint, just an observation. Love me some Hi-Metal R action!

At least after Max I'll be all paid up on Macross stuff until April...never mind...forgot about the Delta releases :p

  10. Just ordered 3 Missile Effect Sets from NY :D

I wish they included 4 instead of just 2 UUM-7 missile effect pieces for each set...maybe 4 on a single valk would be too crowded...

  11. 1/48 for life!

I've never been attracted to the 1/60 VF-1 toys for some reason. The 1/48s are the ultimate to me.

My favorite, Kurt painted Captain VF-1D kit...

Man, I wish I would've sent all those 1/48s I had planned to Kurt before he closed shop...he was and always will be the BEST at the seemingly lost art of custom VF-1s.

  12. tomytec for the detail win!

But the tomytec doesn't really transform...sorry, just trying hard to convince myself I don't need to start collecting tomytec Macross too :p
  13. What?!? MacrossMan is gone?!?

Even though this happened almost 3 years ago, it's still hard to swallow...I didn't know, as I was out of the Macross game at the time.

He was a big Minmay Guard fan, and had commissioned Kurt to do a few customs of his. His collection is what inspired me to contact Kurt for my own Paris Act custom, and I took over ownership of his Moon Act when his passion shifted to photography.

I hope his family is doing okay...he's sorely missed here, that's for sure...
