  1. Even at HLJ's price, its too much for them. They are junk. Probably the worst release of Macross merchandise since this new wave of Macross toys has started. The only Macross toys I ever threw in the garbage...

Even with all the shortcomings...they are still better designed than the MPC's...:blink:

  2. HLJ has something listed in the future releases....1/60 Valkyrie Armor Parts....its listed as coming out in feb along with the GBP... Is it add on parts to the GBP?

  3. Kind of off the Alpha topic...but...is it just me or are the MPC VF's all piles of poo? I just picked up 3 of the 1J's and opened the Rick Hunter one. It comes nowhere near my Bandai's or Yamato's...but yet I keep buying them. The 1S and 1A are on their way...

What's with the little magnet that fell out of the right leg? I think I'm just going to keep it in the box and never take it out. I really hope they up the QC on the new Alphas... :)

Now one has to wonder why you keep buying them...

I'm a gluten for punishment... ;) Naw...the reason I'm getting them, is that I'm getting them for dirt cheap. They do look good sitting next to each other on the shelf. Its just that they will never come out of the box.

Is Toynami's QC that bad? The current gen of mechs are all made in China(Bandai, Yamato). How come the MPC's came out like poo? How do they justify the prices for such bad quality? Is it that Toynami just chooses to use inferior designs?

Define "inferior designs", and then we can answer that one. The Yamato valks are designed in fighter mode and transform around that. The MPCs have the best looking Guardian/Gerwalk modes that I've seen in any toy or model. It's an issue of what you like most. I keep my MPC in Guardian mode, simply because of that reason.

As for QC issues, look at all the problems the Yamato toys had, up to and including these latest 1/60th series of toys.

However, I can say that I'm very interested in these Alpha toys. The sculpt look better than any other Alpha toy available, and for far less money.

I guess I mean "inferior" by the way the Valk is constructed. I held it up to one of my Bandai's and it wasn't even close. It felt so flimsy. In fighter mode it was so loose. The design can't even compare to chunky monkeys...a design that's 20 years old. I was just expecting more from Toynami for charging 80 bucks...the gerwalk mode may be the only redeeming factor. Unless they thought the US market was so hard up for Robotech collectibles that they can do this. Sorry about all the griping...finally an American company puts out something...but it won't stand up to an 20 year old takatoku. :( Even with problems with the Yamato...its still designed better...

  4. I'm 30, but actually feel 25. Probably because of my huge toy collection. Too bad my girlfriend doesn't "get it" :(

    -1s.

I turned 30 last month...my G/F still still laughs at me when I say squadron...

  7. There are some pretty good deals on ebay right now...that's why I asked. From the looks of it I may just get the newer ones. The falling off parts are going to drive me nutz...I already can't stand the loose hips on my 1/60's. Especially...the 1S...he leans back on his own!

  8. I've ordered many times from HLJ and the only problem I've ever had is they sent me a Bandai 1/55 VF-1S when I was supposed to have a Yamato 1/60 Strike.

The same thing happened to me also.

During HLJ.com's first Yamato sale I ordered a Hikaru 1/60 and they sent me a Hikaru 1/55.

Oh well....they wanted me to send it back but I figured it'd take too much time. :(

My exchange deal with HLJ took about 2 weeks...and they credited my shipping also...
