  1. I just got my superpacks and stands today :)

    The box is a bit damaged (either from USPS or SAL) but since because of how they packaged it (newspaper, foam, bubblewrap), everything was safe and snug inside. :)

  2. Don't let it bother you man! That's an amazing Misa, and I'm sure everyone that saw that got a nosebleed out of it would want to draw like you.

    I don't think everyone was looking at the face :p

    Don't worry about it anime52k8, I think the face looks fine as well.

    I'm actually trying to draw a "VF-girl" too, but I'm actually having trouble with the boobs and hands :(

  3. Is that sale on Valkyria Chronicles still going on at Gamestop? I really could use a new game, and I've been hearing a lot about Valkyria Chronicles, but as I'm low on cash I'm thinking I might just wait for DWG2 next week. I'm really craving more of an action game anyway.

    Supposedly yes, but the kicker is trying to find it. It's already sold out online and almost in every store, who knows when they'll stock it in again... Also, you could try price-matching at Best Buy perhaps?

    Sorry to beat a dead horse, but has anyone? ANYONE? gotten the Ace Combat flight stick and throttle to work with the PS3?

    Was looking it up and I read that AC6's Ace Edge stick will definitely not work on the PS3. AC5's flight stick 2 should work on PS3, but only playing AC5... :\

    Also, I read in a Gamefaqs thread that you can't use the flight stick 2 in HAWX, it'll only show up as an unknown device or something like that. Who knows, maybe they'll release a patch to fix this...

  4. Mai Yamane? Does that mean there might be a live "After in the Dark?" if do please GOD let there be a live DVD. Kanno also did the opening to Lodoss TV right? Kanashii no Umi or something like that? Who was the singer?

    Kiseki no Umi, sung by Maaya Sakamoto, lyrics by Yuho Iwasato, and yes, composed by Yoko Kanno :)

    Looking through my Hotchpotch album, seems like they do everything together. Hell, didn't know Yoko Kanno also composed "Platinum" from Cardcaptor Sakura...

    I want to see this concert... but alas, it's so far away... be awesome if they recorded it for dvd release.

  5. Well, I meant outside of Japan... but ahh, *smacks forehead on desktop*, I need to stop looking at only certain online stores...

    One store says Tamiya Flat White in a regular bottle is discontinued, another stores says the white putty will be released soon. Geh.

    Thanks Mechatek, I'll give in and just get what I need from HLJ. :)

  6. Back when I was a kid and never paid much attention to anime, first time I ever heard of Macross, I kinda already knew right off the bat that I would like it. Never got around to watching any of the stuff. Years later, I encounter the internet and Lo! I fell in love with anime soon after. I seen images of Macross Plus and 7 on random anime sites but still haven't watched a damn thing of it.

    Fast forward to 2006 or '07, it was either Do You Remember Love or the Frontier pilot episode that I saw first... was pretty much hooked after that.

  7. Yeah, if you look head-on, you'll see how few planes the F-22 has. When you REALLY look, both the YF-23 and F-22 are pretty amazing in how everything lines up--especially compare "trailing edge of A to leading edge of B"---basically, EVERYTHING lines up with something else--it just may not be near or associated or obvious--but there are overall *very* few skew lines---everything's parallel.

    When I saw this pic on 4chan, I just couldn't help but remember that post.

    and here's another for kicks:

  8. I'd cut them some slack, they're starting out and deserve some support. I really want to give them a try, and hope to order my next 1/72s from them.

    Really? I always thought they've been around for awhile...

  9. Also, the torrents listed on tokyotosho.com are categorized respectively, "raw" for raws, "anime" for subbed anime, "drama" for drama, "music" for music, etc... though once in a blue, blue moon you have a torrent that's miscategorized. Also, most of the time the description will tell you that it's subbed or not. But most of the time, if it doesn't say 'raw" anywhere in the filename and it has a group name on it, it's most likely subbed.

    Hmmm.....I'm showing 2 verisons from Ayako. Different trackers. Are they both legit?

    Also, here's a small, but cool artbook:

    http://www.nyaatorrents.org/?page=download&tid=54782

    Both versions should be legit, V2 from Ayako just fixes some error of sorts (mistranslation, missing subs, less-than-stellar encode, what have you) so get version 2. Also Ayako mainly uses Scarywater's tracker, Nyaatorrent's tracker sometimes gets used too I guess.

    If I remember correctly, I think Gamestop has an english version of the artbook as a preorder bonus... not a bad artbook really.

  10. many, many thanks shiroikaze. that is a great help.

    done deal then, i'll go buy that NTSC-J ZOE2.

    just one last thing: what is "stop" in japanese? might have a mine blow up in face :lol:

    tomare = stop

    or you might run into "matte" which is "wait". You'll be able to figure it out, shouldn't be that hard for ya. Just wondering, why don't you get the NTSC US version? Dubbing wasn't that bad.

  11. I haven't officially bought any DLC... came mighty close for Rock Band 2, MGO, and LBP though... some DLC that's out there ought to be already included or free. $5 for costumes... $10 for a new mode, $5 for the missing ending... if it's not substantially adding to the experience, it's not really worth it.

    now that i think about it, i wonder if my TV (Samsung Series8 LCD) will upscale it anyway even if running off a PS2.

    there's actually quite a number Japanese ZOE2 floating on ebay. not cheap though, but it seems to be my only option. my PS3 manual says it can play NTSC-J, and a quick check on the sony website indicated Anubis:ZOE2 is perfectly compatible with PS3s that have a product code of CECHE6 which is what i have (80GB Southeast Asia version). unfortunately i don't own any japanese PS2 games and thus have not been able to test. has anyone got ZOE2 to run on PS3s similar to mine?

    i'm thinking that since i played the game previously, not knowing japanese might not be such a handicap. though there is a portion of the game that might pose a serious problem: the level where one is supposed to navigate through a minefield by listening to the directions and following it to the letter. i'm hoping i might get away with just brute trial and error, or i might learn just those japanese words. but if anyone knows of an NTSC-J release of ZOE2 that is in english, please shout! ^_^

    Nope, I believe TVs don't even upscale that well, especially if it's from a regular AV cable... it's the player/console that does it best (with the right cable).

    Also, I don't think you need to worry about compatibility issues if you do decide get the NTSC-J version of the game, if the compatibility list says it works, it'll definitely work. Also, it's not that hard to navigate the minefield if you remember that:

    hidari = left

    migi = right

    mae = front

    ushiro = back

    ue = up

    shita = down

    that and gamefaqs :p

  12. Looks like it'll be a "giant" flop then. :lol::ph34r:

    You made me facepalm myself and laugh at the same time, that's quite a feat there.

    Also,

    When I thought up how the SotC movie should be, it came out to be almost exactly like that youtube vid (surprised me alot that someone actually had a similar idea, except this guy actually did something). If an SotC movie was ever released, it ought to be like this. But a little less angsty...

  13. Whhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaat???????????????

    SoC... Film? What are they thinking. They cannot be serious. That entire game was based on the fun of killing giants, it is not movie... no.. not even story book material.

    What's next? Katamari? Tetris!

    It was so fun at the begining... then I felt sad :( (It does actually make a great story though...)

    What hurts me the most, is that the guy who wrote SF: The Legend of Chun-Li is penning SotC... Why Sony? The addition of the game in Reign over Me was great, but why give this horrible treatment to your fantastic in-house title?

  14. This new series is supposed to follow the manga a lot more closely than the previous anime. About half way through, the anime took a severe detour from the original source material.

    That's pretty much what I meant by picking up after some point in the first series, I think anyone who followed FMA (or most anime) knew about that. I didn't get to watch the first episode yet until last night, so from the preview it looks like WolfX is right. :p

  15. Finally, Valkyria Chronicles is on sale at Gamestop for $30

    Use coupon "SAVER" for free shipping :)

    [aside] Other games are on sale too. Like Chrono Trigger DS and Final Fantasy Tactics for PSP. :rolleyes: [/aside]

    It be nice if they added an online skirmish or campaign to Valkyria Chronicles. Hell, if it does pretty well this time around, we might see a sequel in some way...
