How can I make screencaps & thumbnails?

I have Windows Media Classic player but my capture program stop working for me. Are there similar video players that do what the Classic player can do?

I use VLC media player. Great player IMO. And it can do screencaps with a simple keyboard shortcut.

If you can find a copy of and older version of PowerDVD that has frame advance & capturing, no timed capturing though.

Koolplaya has the ability to capture and it's freeware.

IrfanView is an image viewing program but with some plug-ins can play, screen capture, and has timed capturing.

Sadly most of these will require upgrading as well as you computer for the new formats that the subbers are going to.
