  1. GREAT GOOGA-MOOGA! oh man, why are the photographers being stupid and not getting a good shot of that thing!? lol.. nothing else on that table is important

now I'm torn.. I had been holding out getting any new 1/60's since they revealed the 1/48 VF-1J... I'm definitely gonna get that, but I want the GBP as well, but I don't like to duplicate valks in different scales.. it's just not worth the money to me..

Graham, please find out if GBP is only being released for 1/60 or if it's also being made for 1/48!

  2. the whole thing gives me an ulcer..

not yet mentioned in this thread is the fact that, indeed, enough game resources along with the source code were stolen to compile a playable build of the game, and is circulating across the world. I'm also a small-time game developer, and this whole situation makes me sick... I feel so hurt for Valve.. those guys have worked on that game for longer than most of us have or will ever spend in high-school! Now, because of gutless thieves, it could be all for nought.. I'm praying nearly every day that this game still gets released.

  3. well I got to, and beat, mission 12 in only 2 tries.. I'm thinking maybe it was because I didn't jump in with much.. but I quickly built A LOT of torpedo frigates..

I basically used a strikeforce of 2 battlecruisers, the dreadnaught, ~15 torp frigates, 8 interceptors, and 8 to 10 pulsar gunships.. all in a frigate line (f6) strike group.

I never encountered more than 2 enemy battlecruisers at one time, and they usually had a support of 2 destroyers.. the torp frigates chewed up any enemy bombers and gunships that got close, and the ones that got past the first salvo were chewed up by the fighers and gunships in the middle of the strikegroup.. meanwhile, the big ships are firing on the enemy cruisers..

I did this slowly pushing ahead in an offensive just chewing up everything in my path.. had frigates, fighters, and gunships always in the build queue.. and probes everywhere.. gotta see what's out there!

I almost forgot.. had a small group of 3 mobile refineries moving around with the strike group to help take down fighters and bombers..

  4. woohoo! got a squadron of 3 lil'banpresto valks for less than $12 (before shipping), can't argue with that! I've never seen anyone post many pics of their banprestos... anyone care to share? I've never had one before now..

  5. jeez, I just found this..

well, I'm back as the same'ole clone of Zor.. I've been using the name Zor in the gaming world of Half-Life since it came out, and I think even when I played Descent as well! (shoutout to Vostok! Descent rules!)

Once I started running into things where Zor was already taken, I then started using ZorClone, or zor_clone.. or some iteration of it.. ever since.

I shouldn't have to explain where "Zor" comes from

I'm a typical 80's kid who grew up with Robotech not knowing what Macross was until my later years.. then I read through the entire novelization of Robotech, and the name stuck.

I swear to you all I'm gonna ressurrect my 1/48 gallery thread with somethin special here..soon.. I hope..

  6. I'll throw in my $0.02 for the XBox, which is the only console I have. MechAssault is the single most entertaining mecha game I've played on any platform.. and I'm a huge PC gamer.. I've played every Mechwarrior/Battletech game ever released on PC. So far, MechAssault is the most fun IMO.. sure, it's not a simulator like the PC games are, but it's designed to be an action game! Add the benefit of online multiplayer via XBox Live and you have a game that will last a long time. Capture the Flag with battlemechs is awesome, btw.

a few features/details of the game:

    -amazing graphics

    -unmatched mecha detail/animation

    -realistic heatsink effects

    -coolest explosions.. EVER

-you can literally destroy EVERYTHING unless it's a hill or the ground or someting..

    -entertaining voice acting

-the most engrossing MechWarrior storyline as of late (MW4 was so forgettable)

-super-simple control design for piloting the mech.. not even a 5 min learning curve.

Now, if any of you have played Steel Battalion, please speak up on that one.. I've never played or really seen it.. the gigantic controller you need for it is intimidating.

  7. one question: WHERE CAN I BUY!?!?

I'm with most everyone else, I love the Regult and non-transforming VF-1J, those are obvious diorama pieces just waiting for action! Dom? Where are you? I'd love to see more of that work you did with the super poseable with these little ones!
