  1. Thanks everyone for following this thread and leaving kind comments. I really enjoyed the process of working on this one.

I started around early January and took me about 2 1/2 month to finish it up :wacko:

Lastly, I ordered a plexiglass display case for this one - cost me about $70!!

I'll conclude it with a bunch of 1920 X 1080 HD resolution wallpapers (some new, some cleaned up old ones, some raw images, some phtoshop-ed) ~~ Please enjoy~~

I might add some more pictures later when I get more familiar with my wife's camera.. I forgot to turn on the city light when took these photos. :o

Nice custom job man! I can't wait to play with it! B)) LOL Are you going to add some more Photoshop love into those images? Also please post some shots in clean lighting with a white background so we can see it in all its true glory since I can't just bug you to bring it in to work these days.

  2. Before moving to painting other colors, I needed to get the city block done with electrical work.

My initial plan using long fiber-optic cable + 1 LED didn't work because of the nature of the cable :o (bending radius not enough for tight space under city panel).

So moving to plan-B  . A bunch of LEDs and shortened optic cables. :p

Ohh...soldering fun...no.. not really...What a pain in the #$%!!. But it's the only way to make sure the wires are connected after I close the parts.

It still worked with the same battery power, but probably this will shorten the battery life...but I'm now prepared for easy battery replacement!!:lol:

I had to cut the base part here and there to fit cables and LEDs. In the end, they all fit in the tight space nicely ;)

Last step for this test is, of course, the lighting test  .

It looks like they are all working fine. Looks pretty nice specially when all the lights off

The actual look is a little different from the photos below. Basically it has less glare, but more colorful than photos. B))

Now I can move on to the other colors!!!

Hey Kye, I think that you might need some outside or overhead LED's to actually light up the city itself? BTW, off-topic. Transformers Prime was pretty cool. I need to congratulate JoJo on his mech designs.

  3. I just love how this thing's a VF-1J/ skull leader/ angel bird! LOL. Funny thing is that it seems to have the same QC issues as so many Yammy one armed VF's.

Man, that Korean anime is hilarious! It might be the missing Jetfire episodes from Transformers! LOL

  4. The chances of an official English release are almost zero, thanks to a little fly in the ointment that goes by the initials of HG.

    Graham

Actually, here's a interesting thought. Why would MF get zero chance of an international release, but we've had both OVA and movie releases here of M+ and not a peep of resistance from HG? So wouldn't that mean thet there might be a chance of it getting a release here?

Actually, now that I think of it what about the re-release of the original series from Animego? No HG BS there and it was the bread and butter series for them too.

  5. In light of the glut of DYRL mecha Yamato has cranked out over the years, and the fact that it's produced lesser items such as the Ghosts, a Rabbit isn't necessarily a far-fetched idea. There is also line art featured on page 85 in the DYRL This Is Animation book that shows a Rabbit next to a Super Ostrich and both of them are in GERWALK mode. The feet of the Rabbit extend downward with a definite knee joint and it's outfitted with the same FAST Pack system as the Super-O. I have no idea if this was supposed to be canon or if this was just a joke sketch that was included in the book, but the prospect of Yamato producing a transformable SDF shuttle with a tiny Misa pilot could be a possible hit. If nothing else, it'd fill a niche in much the same way that the Destroids have. Anyone else interested in something like this?

I'd go for it because I'm a sick puppy. As long as Yamato can keep it under 210,000 yen.

    :p

  6. We'll see. That was actually one of the things I raised in my dinner with Yamato last night.

Personally, I find the VF-X2 VF-11 scheme boring, but I understand that some folks want it.

    Graham

Man, it would be really cool to get a blue lancers version as well as an orange drone from M+.

  7. Man, that's too much crap for the end of a major recession year. They need to push these back until at least January of next year. I love them, am a huge M&M fan, have all the M&M valks, and need these and will get them but for effin' sakes man, one thing at a time please!

    - Nghia

Dammit! Just ordered them both and add to that the new Lucifer and VF-11C! This sucks! Now I'll have to find some way of getting extra cash for those Resident Evil 5 figures. <_<

    I hate myself. <_<

  8. BTW, Millia is scheduled in Nov and Max in Dec.

I doubt things will stick to the schedule though...

On the list before Dec, Yamato owes us the VF-1S LV, VE-1, VF-1D VR, M&M VF-1J, GBP VF-1J, 1/48 Kakizaki TV 1A... Can they really deliver a Millia 22S in Nov?

  9. God damn that was a good movie!

The story of a man who finds his humanity by turning into an alien.

That bugged me too but as my wife pointed out

their technology is all based on their biology, it's not hard to imagine that the fluid was some kind of hyper-concentrated biotechnology, that would have incidental effects on other living creatures

They obviously had some kind of emergency, they may have gone to Earth because it was the nearest planet with a habitable biosphere.

    It's PROTOCULTURE!!!!!
