  1. I've had some bad experiences with Tamiya Flat Base. Brush it on, and it turns powdery white (rubs off on your finger, too!). You could try that. Or use Future Floor Wax or Tamiya Clear in your white.

Failing that, break out the DullCote and don't let go of that spray nozzle.

  2. Polka dot 1J(?): Ack! Like the head, though.

1S in same pic: I think he soiled himself.

Flaming 1A: Those feathers are...eeeew. But it's reasonable.

Blue 1J: Probably the only nice one of the bunch, and the only one I'd apply to a Valk kit or toy.

  3. Hmm. Timber Wolf D?

If you want to make it easier on yourself, you'll want to erase the pencil shading, either by hand (a pain, I know) or with a photoediting program (I just use Paint for things like that, then I paste it into Pshop.).

Then, use your magic wand (w) to select various parts, and simply color over it. I like to get down the basic colors first, then shade over it. But I am a mere Pshop newbie myself, I haven't quite learned how to play with layers or displacement maps (but displacement maps GOOD)...

  4. Guppy: If you're a BattleTechie, what you're looking at is the redesigned Stalker. I have no idea why it was redesigned, but it looks really good...

  5. Gonna build me a Gundam Ver Ka soon, and I'm planning to seal it after applying the dry transfers. Will Dullcote work on Tamiya? I heard the alcohol in the Dullcote will do some funky stuff.

Also, are there alternatives to dullcote?

  6. I think he looks great, and if his legs are where I think they are in vehicle mode, the back row of seats can fold down (or at least back...and the front seats can fold forward, too!)

Shadower V2: Police jeep...doesn't sound like a bad idea at all...Just give him yellow lightbars for a park service ride, or full Prowl regalia...Or all-black...
