If you were a Variable Fighter Pilot with the UN Military which of the VF mechas would you want to pilot during your career in the Military? An if it came down to one VF mecha, which one would you want to take into combat as your primary Variable Fighter? Here are the VF mecha that I would want to pilot during my Military career: 1. VF-1X Plus Valkerie 2. VF-9 Cutlass 3. VF-11C Thunderbolt III 4. VF-14 Vampire 5. VF-17 Nightmare 6. VF-19 Excalibur 7. VF-22S Sturmvogel II 8. VF-5000 StarMirage The one mecha I would take into combat as my primary Variable Fighter would be the: VF-22 Sturmvogel II So I like to hear from you all, which VF mechas would you want to pilot during your Military career and what would your primary VF mecha would you pilot into combat?

I was thinking today if we were living in the Macross universe what Branch of Service in the U.N. Military would you join? For me I would first join the U.N. Marines since the Marines in my opinion are the best and one of the First combat forces to be deployed into combat. The Marines also have a very long Military history that goes back to the year of 1775. Then after spending a few years with U.N. Marines I would transfer to the U.N.S.Marines and continue my military career with them. After spending a several years with the U.N. Marines, I would transfer to the U.N.S. Special Forces to complete my military career. Well looks like can't stay in one service for long can I, I guess my since of duty and adventure prevent me from staying in one military service. Again my choices are: 1. U.N. Marines 2. U.N.S. Marines 3. U.N.S. Special Forces So please I like to hear from you all, what UN Military service would you join?

I have nothing negative to say about the head units of the VF mechas. Ugly or not each head unit has there Pros and cons about them and unfortunately some head units are better then others when they are being used in combat. Then you got to realize that the engineers had to figure away to put the cockpit in the head unit along with all the optical equipent. The way I look at the engineers had the design the head unit around the cockpit and Optics and not the other way around. -

When I look at the Shinsei Industry SDP-1 Stampede Valkyrie it looks like a Transforming Gundam, even though it is a variant of the VF-1 Valkerie. In my opinion it was not made to look pretty it was meant for shipbourne combat, being it is heavily armed to take out the Zentradi's cruisers and battleships. That is something that the VF-1's with Super Packs and Strike Packs couldn't do. I never really warmed up to the VF-4 even though it was faster and more heavily armed then the VF-1. I compare the VF-4 to the A-7 Corsair there ugly ducklings in my book. But if Yamato or Hasegawa decided to produce the VF-4 I would buy it just to say I have one. -

From what I hear the VF-171 is a new Variable Fighter in Macross Frontiers. So is the VF-171 a totally new fighter or is it a more Advanced version of the VF-17 Nightmare? -

In my opinion the Ultimate U.N. Spacy Variable Fighter is the VF-7000 Thunderhawk ( just kidding) ! Seriously, it would be the General Galaxy VF-22 Sturmvogel II. In my opinion the Best all around U.N. Spacy Variable Fighters would be: 1. Shinsei Industries VF-19 Excalibur 2. General Galaxy VF-17 Nightmare 3. Shinsei Industry VF-5000 StarMirage 4. Shinsei Industry VF-11 Thunderbolt III 5. General Galaxy VF-9 Cutlass 6. Stonewell/Bellcom VF-1 Valkerie My favorite U.N. Spacy Variable Fighters are: 1. General Galaxy VF-22 Sturmvogel II 2. General Galaxy VF-17 Nightmare 3. Shinsei Industry VF-5000 StarMirage 4. Shinsei Industry VF-11 Thunderbolt II 5. Stonewell/Bellcom VF-1 Valkerie -

As long as there are VF-1's around and upgrades for them they will continue to be work horses for colony worlds that want a lost cost Variable fighting mecha. -

I like to thank the moderator for adding the VF-2SS and the VF-MS, they were meant not to be part of this poll!!! The VF-2SS and the VF-MS are part of a altenate Macross Timeline!!! -

The BDI/BCS flight control system was mainly made for Zentradi Pilots, the human brain was not exactly made for this type of flight control system. The Variable Camber wing or Morphing Wings does not need the BDI/BCS it still can be controlled by the Digital Flight computer. But that doesn't mean General Galaxy and UN Spacey are not continuing research on the BDI/BCS Advanced Flight control system. -

I mentioned in Post#12 of this thread that Macross II, VF-2SS and the VF-MS in my opinion are not part of the Macross timeline and it belongs on a alternate time line. The Varuta VF's and the Anti-U.N. SV-51 are enemy VF mechas and are not part of U.N. Spacey. I personally think the SV-51 is not the greatest looking VF even though it has decent combat capability. "This thread is more focused on what is the Ultimate VF mecha ever been produced for U.N. Spacey"!!! -

To me the YF-21 Omega One was a excellent CDA VF mecha and the BDI and BCS was really advanced at the time of testing of this advanced flight system. The BDI/BCS would of given the pilot a 2 to3 second reaction time over a pilot using Fly-By-Wire or Fly-By-Light flight control system. But unfortunately U.N. Spacey felt due to the loss of the YF-21 and due to there was not enough technical information from the testing of the BDI/BCS system. U.N. Spacey felt it was not feasibe to field this Advanced flight system into Military service at this time. Its possble that General Galaxy and U.N. Spacey's New Edwards Test Flight center continued research on the BDI/BCS Advanced Flight Systems. With removal of the BDI/BCS from the VF-22. The VF-22 is not much different then the YF-21!!! -

VF-7000 Thunderhawk is my forum name,"Dude" ! IF the VF-7000 was a real VF mecha in the Macross universe, it would be Black Spec Ops VF mecha. It would be superior to any VF mecha ever made including the new VF-25. Any further inquiries on this Highy Top Secret VF mecha will be met with extermination. -
Enough with the arguements people lets go forward with the current thread at hand shall we. Everybody has there opinion about if watching a show with english subtitles or a English Dub version of the show is better then the other. But you got to realize that alot of other foreign countries watch American TV and animation and what they watch alot a time is dubbed in there own language and is probably not that all perfect either to the original. I personally in my opinion think watching shows and movies from foreign countries with English subtitles are boring. Then on top of trying to watch the movie or show you have to read the subtitles at the same time. Then you have got to think about people enjoying the show. I'm sure like alot of other people would enjoy a foreign show or movie more if it was Dubbed in a language that you speak from the country that you are from.
