alfye - nice display!
I was looking for decals at samueldecal and I accidentally came across these. Might be useful if you ruined your original decals. What is also interesting is that the Ozma sheet comes with the two decals that go onto Alto's head and back. So you can make an Alto with yellow-black striping. Priced at $13 + shipping.

Still going on about the amputee issue. I am not familiar with the Q-Rea design so initially I thought that Klan's legs would fit into the Q-Rea's legs. I watched episode 4 and saw that she sits in the cockpit with her legs up. Then I noticed that Klan on the model kit is out of scale with the Q-Rea. Or is it the other way around? On the model her shoulders are about as wide as the distance between the guns. In the anime we see that Klan easily fits between those guns. The distance is almost twice that of her shoulders.
(OT: also note the animation error where the left panel suddenly disappears. )

With a correct hip I was considering of buying a VF100. Thanks for messing up again Bandai.

Paints

I got the paint from rainbowten and the thinner from hiroboy. I wasn't sure if a 400ml bottle of lacquer thinner would get past customs.

Paints
in Model kits
I have been using mostly Tamiya acrylics for now. It works great for airbrushing and it is easily available in the UK.
I recently tried Vallejo Air acrylics and I was not impressed. Mild clogging and paint chipping.
For my VF-25S I wanted a paint that was more resistant to scratching, so I tried Mr.Color. I absolutely love this stuff, apart from the smell. It atomizes in the AB like nothing else and gives a great cover and finish. Unfortunately it is harder to get over here, but I will definitely try to use it on future projects.

It's a great kit, too bad they didn't release other designs from the series.
Indeed. After having made some VF-25's it is also nice to work on something simple (40 vs 250 parts) for a change, although masking this kit will require some extra attention. Yours looks great indigo. Got any more pics?

I finally started working again on the Kibou-Gou from the Mars Daybreak anime. This model has been on my shelf in gray primer for almost four years now. Yesterday I sprayed it completely white so I could photoshop the final color scheme. I already did variations on the line-art but doing it on the actual model gives a better impression. On the left is the original purple-white-green color scheme which I never liked. It is sort of like a failed copy of EVA-01. The second color scheme I made a long time ago. The third one I made today since I like the white color on the model.

I do hope Bandai sticks with it and makes improvements and doesn't allow the line to die quietly away.I think they will minimalize the amount of parts-swapping needed for transformation, as the VF-25 had too many parts to swap and some of them really shouldn't have been made swappable(or needed to be).
How about making one with only 3 swappable parts?
Fighter | Gerwalk | Battroid

One thing to note is that Gundam marker (GM02) is lacquer based.
Thanks for the info. So my stupid attempt at removing a panel line with Mr. Thinner (which incidentally completely removed the acrylic base paint) wasn't so stupid after all.

Little green guy doing a sneak attack on Ozma's vital parts
Btw. I think it looks much better without the Urkel ankles.

The Tamshii Robot Spirits VF-25F i toy is supposed to be non-transforming Battroid mode only IIRC.
Grahan
Apparently the upcoming Nirvash can transform.

If they do make the Damashii transformable it would compete even more with the VF-100s. Both have a similar price ~ ¥4000-5000. The main difference would be size: 12cm vs 15cm. I don't believe Bandai will release the Damashii until the VF-100s have made them some profit.

whats the best way to get rid off the top coat and acrilic paint as well.........
I have had some good results of stripping Tamiya acrylic paint with Mr.Color Thinner. No overnight soaking required. Just rub it a few times with a wet tissue. I accidentally discovered this while trying to remove a gundam marker line on acrylic paint. Suffice to say that the line was gone afterwards.

Someone on Toysdaily has built a clear VF-25F with Sheryl decals.

He also shows the Ranka version.

Toysdaily has a preview of an unbuilt VF-25F Clear. It has no colored thrusters or stabilizers as seen on the box. I guess they expect you to use clear paint on these parts (just like the canopy ).
-
However - can you guys tell me what colors I need for Ozma? I mean - something more specific than just "grey"
That is - it won't matter what shade of grey I choose will it? If my gray paint doesn't match up to the factory painted part from Bandai - that's not going to cause a problem is it?
Thanks,
Pete
Just keep in mind that some of the markings on the wings are gray as well. So do not make your dark gray too dark otherwise the decals will not show up.

Im not sure if anyone has realised this but I would like to point out what i think is going to be a major problem for the armored pack. if u look at the bulky legs of the VF and compare that to the way the fuselage all fits together you should notice that there isnt enough space for the additional girth of the legs to fit properly in fighter mode as the current and super pack variation manges to avoid applying bulk to the insides of the legs which meets with the arms. some food for thought maybe? it would take some serious engineering or we could just be fed an ill fitting kit lawl.
I noticed that in order to make the Super Parts fit in fighter mode the VF simply does not have its legs all the way up. See attached picture.

Yep yep.. the good thing about Bandai releases is that there are always a few re-colours that will be released so that you can improve with each kit and yet not feel that guilty about buying the same kit over and over again!
Has anyone bought the clear version VF-25F, or any of the February releases? I want to know if the sheryl decal really comes with every kit.
I am starting to question the same thing. The decal seems to be included on several auctions on yahoo.co.jp, but it is never seen in the box. Could it be that it is given separately with the kit? See attached picture. In that case unscrupulous sellers might sell it off separately.
On a positive note, here are some pictures I found on an auction and from Gespenst.

Me too!
I´m going to skip February kits, except one simple SuperPack for my VF-25S, and anxious wait for the VF-25G with his rifle, his Loudspeakers and mini Ranka!!!
But the bad news is that we have no news of Mikhail´s kit...
I don't think the speakers and Ranka have been confirmed yet. It would indeed be great if they were included. Michel's VF has a release in March (see post by IXTL).

We've got release dates for February.
19 Feb - VF-25F Super
26 Feb - Super Pack
26 Feb - RVF-25
