I dropped my bandai  dx vf-1d and the tail wings broke off   is there anywhere i can get a part?  I think I need the whole portion of the back that holds the wings and folds up...

I cut a "pin" out of a long "wire" available at the hobby shop. they had a myriad of wires in various diameters made of steel. I was able to assemble it properly but it's a little "loose" so the arm flops around a bit. broken shoulders on these things are a pain in the ass!

Or just file the pin down a bit or cut the knurled bit off.

I just took my trusty multi purpose tool to it (a hammer). That sorted things out.

hi ArchieNov, no it wasn't on the arcadia vf...this was a tv max...and the shapeways replacement holes are so narrow, there's no way to get the pin to fit...(this one isn't knurled one)...so i'm stuck on this for the moment....very disappointed as these toys are so expensive and to have the stupid flimsy shoulder thing break off sucks...especially since i bot it on ebay and the damage wasn't disclosed

i bot the shapeways product but the pin doesn't fit...has anyone dealt with this yet?

funny you mentioned shapeways...just got my shapeways shoulder replacement kit for the 1/60 V2 and the damn pin doesn't fit does anyone that has bought this kit know how or where to find a new pin that i can fit in the new parts? this sucks...got scammed on ebay...seller sold me a tv max with a broken shoulder and didn't disclose...i bought the part thinking I could easily solve the problem...so much for that anyone out there that can help with some advice on this?

i could use some of these sets too if anyone has multiples of them they don't need

yes i heard about that; not cool...i think the new company will continue to produce the toys....the franchise just seems to valuable to me to just call it quits alltogether. however there may be some time before production starts again. everyone was buying twinkies for huge markups when they went bankrupt because nobody thought they would be around again....wasn't much later a company bought the brand and announced twinkies will be back.

wow cool, how are you going about painting the pieces? some sort of

special model paint? and how do you prevent the paint from seeping on

the white areas so that it looks clean? darker green looks pretty good!

It looks like from the earlier pics, yamato was planning on realeasing

an alaksa base valk? I wonder if they were able to get them produced

before they went under?

Best way is to use the VF-1A assembly kit.

I am...those pins are a pain.

Progress so far, I decided on a darker tone of green.

how do i achieve the alaksa base valk? buy one of those white kits and try painting the pieces green? how do i go about painting the valk to make it look realistic? spray paint of some sort? can someone help?

It's not just the Alaska Base valk, how are you going to make the other one?
