  1. The key to removing the shoulder pauldron is the removal of the pin at the far tip. Once you get the separation of the yellow cap from the pauldron, it's a matter of removing screws under the speakers and carefully splitting the pauldron apart. Removing the pin took some careful hammering with a millimeter screwdriver or push tool. Hope this helps.

Oh, how did you detach the shoulder? Mine had a crack on the arm attachment

You would ask the hard questions... Haha... There's a screw on the inside that releases the maroon section below the shoulder. After that is removed there is a screw that holds in the swing peg of the arm assembly (at the pivot). The arm assembly lifts up after it's removed.

Decided to necro this instead of starting a new thread.

For those who have similar broken arms and are trying to take apart the arm, you might have noticed even after removing the 2 screws you still can't pull apart the arm. This is because of a hidden knurled pin acting as a 3rd screw. Just gently slowly pull apart the arms until it pops off, note its very stuck together because the end of the pin is knurled. After its off, i sanded the knurled bit on mine a little bit to make assemble/disassembly easier.

Oh wow! Thank you for sharing. That explains a lot when I tried to repair my arm.  Had to rebuild the shoulder hinge last year too so the pauldron could reattach.

  4. It has been a frustrating process with slow ticket updates after almost daily chat follow ups. It almost seems like the chats are bots with their canned responses!

Hopeful that the super strike parts will arrive intact this Thursday OK after upgrading to the UPS express saver option NY offered me after initially saying changing the shipping wouldn't help.

It was still a shock when I got the shipped update so quickly after payment...and a chat proding...

I did politely inquire a few times hoping to be noticed. Not sure if it did anything. Hang in there those who are still waiting.

Yeah, Mandarake Nakano is split up into a bunch of smaller shops with their own specialization. The mecha shop with all the Gundam and Macross stuff is on the 4th floor in the corner. :)

I was there a few weeks ago but they didn't have anything I didn't already have. Was tempted to pick up some Metal Builds at the time though...

I was there last Thursday. They had a renewal VF-25F with cracks in the crotch piece that holds the legs. Too much to risk even for the $120 price tag. I was lookin over a VF-171EX Plus Alto which was a little brown. I ended up buying that one since strangely Northern Cross started playing in the store. I took it as a sign haha. Sadly I found a new one at Akihabara Jungle a few days later for less. Oh well, sho ga nai. :p Nakano is my favorite go to when in Tokyo.

  7. I like the idea of Mylene joining Delta. A custom pink accented VF-31 would be great with a Gubaba marking on the back.haha.

Seriously though, I'm getting a bad feeling about the ruins on Ragna going down into the planet core. They may have to reactivate that Macross city ship soon for an evacuation. Massive planetary destruction hasn't happened yet. Too bad I really like Ragna.

  8. I love Nakano Broadway! Right off the JR Nakano station. Mandarake "departments" are spread over several floors and mixed in with other shops. Last May almost gave up until I found the Valkyries tucked away on the 4th floor I think. There was a lot of walking. Then I had to decide between a Bandai VB-6 or a used VF-25F renewal Alto (before the reissue was released in August) ... it would've been $90 cheaper for me. But opted for the rarer VB-6.

Last month I found a VF-25A in Hiroshima at a Yellow Submarine. It was on sale for $110. But there was an additional surprise discount which brought it to $106. Came home happy! :)
