  1. Does anyone know if the wings have any sort of swing action? I looked at this picture and wasnt sure if the 1/60 had swinging wings...

Yes, it can be done. First make sure you have a YF-19 in your hands. Once you have it, the question is irrelevant. But if you have trouble sweeping the wings back, it's because they're too tight. Just loosen the nuts that attach the wings to the hip, then just S-L-I-G-H-T-L-Y shave the wing blades so that they can get clearance to the top of the back legs. After confirming the sweepability through iterations (since you want to shave gradually), you can apply some nail polish to coat the shaved areas so that there is no friction from the wing blades to the back of the legs.

    Cheer! B))

  2. Thanks for the pics and link, Two Ducks. The rear landing gears look like those of the VF-11B (crude-looking wheel connected to a slap of plastic)! Given the size of the new SS, I don't think it's that hard to give those wheels better rims (like in one of the pics of the actual F-15 that David H. posted). One of the reasons I like the 1:48 VF-1's and 1:60 VF-0's is because their LGs look cool.

  3. The upcoming YF-19 looks perfect to me. I still like my original 1:72 version as well. I believe you guys' passion to perfection by voicing it at MW might have contributed to better production. Kudos also to G-Man, our ambassador. :)

  4. Yes, the right intake cover pops out easily. The left one feels like it's glued to the frame. Funny, I tried my nails as well. Didn't work because I always keep them short. I'll try the exacto knife tomorrow. Thanks for suggestion, G.A. If anyone has a different approach, do post it here. Thanks. :)

I know a PC isn't a console, but shouldn't it be included in the poll?

  6. I'd take a Mao or Deadgar figure over Sara.

Mao is cute, but I prefer the nubile Sarah. LOL! I don't recall Mao was in the plane with Shin. But if Yamato will include all your mentioned figures, more power to us.

  7. Does anybody know how to safely remove the intake covers?  I'm able to remove one of them by pressing on the bottom part (in the manual).  The other one just won't budge.  I still want the valk have its glory within the first day out of the box.  B))

So, nobody has removed the intake covers yet? Any difficulty?

  8. Graham, do you see difficulties as far as Yamato not being able to make 2 seater VF-0s?

    Much like the 1/48s VF-1?

    398441[/snapback]

Technically, it is possible. But a VF-0D would require a lot of new tooling, which would be very expensive.

Graham, I don't see cost an issue here. The question is will they sell enough? Judging from this forum, there are enough MWers who are willing to pay the price. I suppose everybody want the two-seater come standard with Shin and Sara Nome figures?

  9. Go, eugimon, go! :)

I now have a VF-0 in my hand. I have not transformed it yet. For now I just leave it at the factory-default fighter mode , with the Macross sail logo applied to the sides of the cockpit.

    The goods:

There is no shipping mishaps on this dude. The tail fins are good. The Jolly Roger logos on the tail fins are straight. The paint is perfect everywhere. The pilot is nicely sculpted and painted.

  10. The VF-0's arms are small not because of bad design from Yamato. It's just the way Kawamori designed them. You can see the small arms in many scenes in the Macross Zero anime. I don't have problem with small arms as long as they don't break off due to gravity one day. If anyone notices the VF-2SS, the arms there are small as well.

  11. I'd have to say its easy to overlook the shoulder thing cause the valks i assume are assembled in fighter mode. So during the QC process you can't see if its the right shoulder or not.

    :(

If the QC'ers only look at the fighter, it's not called QC'ing. They're supposed to transform between the modes and look for flaws. There's no reason for shoddy QC after their years of experience and good profit. Yamato's poor QC reminds me the reason I stop buying multiples.

To those who wait: it's not going to be any better. As I said, it's not experience. It's the process, commitment and attitude to assemble better toys that are lacking from Yamato.
