  1. Here's a question. Was Macross II ever considered part of the official storyline between the time is was released up until Macross Plus? I never read anything that specifically said Macross II was a side story. It wasn't until I saw a short chronology at the end of Macross Plus ep. 1 that listed Macross II as a parallel universe.

  2. Well, I went to the mayan's website, however they don't reveal any upcoming schedule, its all current playing stuff. But right on the home page, it advertises the gits2 sweepstakes thing.

Thanks for the link :) Only reason I asked is because I seriously doubt it'll be showing in the Springs. I remember the first GITS movie had a good run there so maybe this one will too. Give me a hollar when it opens, because that will be the last thing on my mind :p

  3. Apparently GITS2 is gonna show in many american independant theaters. I was down at the Mayan (independant films) in Denver Colorado and there were posters and previews everywhere of it.

Was there any more information when it's coming out @ the Mayan? 9/17? Sooner or later than that? How long will it be showing, etc?

  4. My best guess would be the DJ liked the VF-1S and thought it would look cool as a cover. Who knows if the DJ knows about Macross or not. If his mixes have any other references to Macross in the titles he probably does know something about it. One time my friend went to a rave and told me there was a giant Lagi (from Panzer Dragoon) hanging from the ceiling. He knew about the game but I doubt many of the ravers did. Again, it was probably just a prop put up because it looked cool.

  5. I don't think I've ever seen a picture of this thing on the ground in shuttle mode. To be honest are we even sure this thing CAN take off on its own? I've always sort of seen this thing taking off with the assist of a booster just like the Space Shuttle. Either that or being dropped from a ship in orbit.

That is completely unnecessary. It can and does hover in destroid mode. It can also jump in battroid mode. The Monster only walks in battroid mode, in destroid mode it tilts, hovers and turns (at least in the game).

I was thinking that in order to take off, VB-6 probably starts running really fast and jump and transform to fighter

This is not only possible, it's necessary to escape all of the missles those damn Zentraedi pods fire.

Question: How does it fire in Shuttle Mode? I'm guessing the arms move out some so they can fire missles and bombs? The rail cannon barrels are hooked up to the drive system, but it should be able to fire everything else, right?

It can only fire a 30mm cannon, normal missles, and micro missles in shuttle mode. I didn't include the little guns/lasers on the arms because those aren't selectable weapons in the game. The rail gun can only be fired in destroid mode. The grenade crusher can be fired from either destroid/battroid mode. In shuttle mode, the top half of the rail gun that is exposed in back act as thrusters.

Anyone know how long the transformation sequence of this puppy would be?

In the opening movie it takes about 5 seconds to go from shuttle to destroid mode. I think that's for a more dramatic effect, in game it takes about 1 second.

Forgot to mention, the Monster is also seen launching from a transport ship (in space) in shuttle mode. It's still unclear if it floats out of the hanger in destroid mode and then transforms to shuttle mode <_<

  6. My Lodoss novels arrived and I can safely say there are several illustrations not in Innocence, one of which I'm attaching below. There are several pencil drawings throughout each book which is nice :D That picture I attached in my other post is in one of the four novels. The novels take place after the tv and oav series. I don't know much beyond that. The only illustration I have yet to place is the first one in Innocence (big two page spread with Narse the black dragon). It was created over a year after the last novel was released. Perhaps that is one that will be used for the imminent 5th novel. I find it somewhat creepy the day I discovered the novels is two years to the day the last of the four was released. Two years prior to that is the date the Dreamcast ROLW game was released (with Mikimoto's cover art)

Also if anyone follows Ecole du Ciel, the 4th volume is scheduled to be released on 7/26/04 :)

  7. wait, was that deedlit drawing just for show, or did he really work on that series?

I'll share what I know. I may be guessing on a couple points. All of the Lodoss art was apparently for a magazine called The Sneaker. Never heard of it before and after checking, it looks to be a book magazine of some kind. What is interesting is that that Deedlit picture is also used on the inside cover of the Dreamcast ROLW game from a few years back. In the list of works section of Innocence, that picture isn't referenced with the game. Mikimoto also did the cover art for the game, although it didn't make it's way into Innocence.

What's more interesting is that a new illustration? can be found in a recent issue of The Sneaker published after Innocence and it does mention 'a game'. I haven't seen the new illustration yet.

Kadokawa Publishing Co., Ltd. "new lodoss island game description" Mizuno "the sneaker" it is good the work (illustration)

This just hit me like a ton of bricks today. Most if not all of the Lodoss art in Innocence is from a series of novels that can be seen here http://www.lodossdreams.net/records/novel/nrolw.html

Amazon had four novels listed (minus the prelude novel) and the description above about the 'new lodoss island game' I'm guessing is for a fifth book. I now doubt the game part of the translation has anything to do with the DC game or a new video game.

Also found this image on yahoo auctions not long ago. This art is not in Innocence nor have I seen it anywhere else. Perhaps it's for the 5th novel?

  8. On that same note, here's an example of his C-10+++ and MIB (yeah, in the USPS box) crap

How's this for low. Arafat cut/paste part of the description I used when selling a SuperOstrich.

This is a link to my auction. I consider this just as bad as picture stealing  Perhaps he was pissed I canceled his bids :D

  9. It could be scabies. The constant itching sounds like what my dad picked up on the road. Check with a dermatologist. He was given a special cream that would kill them in one or two shots. Only bad part everyone in the house had to wash with it also.

  10. Yeah I looked into some of the questionable people before I even listed anything. It's very sad one or two people can make buying selling Macross stuff a lot harder. I was thinking of listing one at a time so I didn't get flooded with questions but decided to put up everything at once. And I can see how that would raise a few eyebrows in the community:P Nope, don't have a strike valkyrie. I saw one that ended a day or so ago with zero bids I think, about $400 bin.

  11. actually before I meant Arafat or the guys who name shall not be spoken, not Voldamort, though they may be the same guy with all the evil shill bidding names he has

Sorry, didn't realize for a second you were talking about those people in another context. I thought for a second you were implying that I am another alias of those scumbags. I find it frustrating when I build a small yet good reputation and people start doubting me when I sell something like this.

  12. Let me put an end to all of your doubts. I listed those auctions today and they are indeed original toys. I do not deal in bootlegs or pirated goods of any kind. No they did not come from 'you know who' (arafat something or other). The person I bought them from is extremely dedicated to buying only official licensed products. I am also on the SSL here at MW.

  13. I guess the time limit is up so I'll ask another question. The answer to the last one is Okinu chan has legs. In Japanese mythology, most ghosts are depicted as floating around legless.

The next one. In the Evangelion tv series, what video game console is shown being played?

  14. Let's see, I don't know of any 'new' projects of his but I'm sure he's working on some cover illustration for something. As for what he's been up too recently I know a good deal :) The biggest news was his Innocence artbook released at the end of 2003 after a ten year absence <_< This has a good summary of his career in the last decade although there are numerous pieces missing. He is currently working on Ecole du Ciel (school in the sky) which is based in the Gundam UC universe. It's running in Gundam Ace and the second compiled manga was released last year so I'd expect a 3rd sometime this year. The PS2 Macross game has a few new character designs, nothing major.

In the US, his (w/ Sukehiro Tomita the writer) manga Baby Birth was released through TokyoPop in late 03. It's a two volume set and an interesting read but nothing out of the ordinary. I'm seeing a very slow release of new ArtVivant prints although it's mostly older work touched up. I'd speculate we'll see new art for the second Yamato (or was it Yujin?) Macross figure set.
