  1. Are there any pics of the painting and prepping process?

It would be nice if Hirohawa could share a bit more insight on his build.

Incredible Hanger you have there. The 1D looks right at home next to the TH.

The whole paint process was a rush job so I didn't take any pics. The color I used for the valkyrie was Tamiya Primer grey.

The Gold Visor was a reflective adhesive gold mylar I got at the art supply store. It works really well - aside some grumbling from one A-hole that shall remain nameless.

  2. WTF!!!

how come this creation is not in the customs section nor on the splash page of MW. This is MacrossWorld, I thought there was more support for the fandom than this.

    Well said!

  3. I whole heartedly agree. I think the positioning of the pilot is horrible and contributes to the stubby nose effect also. If I was a VF-1 fan I'd definitely be irked.

If that's how they figured out to make the two seater - by ruining the proportions on the one seaters- color me unimpressed.

It does look good in battroid though with the stubbier nose.

  4. I hate to do this on a public forum but, thanks to EXO for initiating such a cool project for Macross fans.

It really came out better than I ever imagined.

  5. Having spent some time with EXO's Thunder Hammer I can tell you the crazy thing is that in real life it looks like a real manufactured piece - the craftsmanship is utterly mind blowing. By far the most ambitous custom done to a Macross toy.

You guys are going to be blown away if you ever get to see it.

And I blame EXO for it.

  6. Yeah BOB I'm sure that's the same deal Kawomori gets.

Let's inflame things on the boards - that should be confidential - and make the 1D project crash and burn - great idea!

    NMB4,

    1) when you said credit, do you mean your name will be printed on the packaging or stamp molded on the valk toy itself, or both - kind of credit?

    2) or does that credit also comes with the contractor/consultant fee?

If by credit you meant you're only getting (1) and not (2), please tell Yamato to fvck off.

Settle for nothing less than 15% cut for every valk that Yamato makes and sells of your version of the VF1D. Otherwise you're better off selling the kits to the fans to DIY or gain more by doing a full customization job on the 1/48 VF1D for fans without any skills.

Big West, Yamato and the Macross fandom be damned.
