I'm sorry I obviously do not know how to say what I’m thinking. My previous thread which was “What is the macross Japanise -> English?†which got closed because there was a thread on the Macross TV Dub and while I was referred to that thread (the link is below) it has absolutely nothing to do with what I was asking. That thread was almost purely on the technical details on the dubbing voice over’s and personal preference of a dub or original langue. What I am trying to figure out is, is the original Japanese Macross the same thing as the first 36 episodes of Robotech the macross saga. Or is there more to it.. Are there more episodes in Japanese version of Macross than the first 36 episodes of Robotech the macross saga that deal only with the original crew and the SDF-1 (macross). I don’t care about the quality of the dubs only the content of the episodes. I know that on a 1:1 macross -> robotech that macross has more scenes that were edited out for the robotech audience but are there more episodes? Again does macross continue the story past edisode 36 of Robotech the macross saga " To the stars" that deal solely with Rick Hunter, Lisa Hayes, and the rest of the crew? This is all I want to know.. If Robotech is a episode by episode conversion of Macross then I wont bother to buy Japanese Macross since I have the re mastered editon of the first 36 episodes of Robotech the macross saga. Pleas if you know just say, “Yes it continues the story.†Or if not then just say “No Macross and Robotech the macross saga are the exact same thing.†(with minor differences in cut out / deleted or altered scenes)

Thank you. I realize that my usage of Robotech is incorrect and I apologize. I know that Robotech is 85 Episodes long. When I was saying Robotech I was refering to the first 36 episodes or what I would call chapter 1. What I mean to say is does the original Macross series end with the destruction of the SDF-1 in the Robotech series. I know that in Macross the SDF-1 survives the attack but does it continue the story past that point. Does the story line continue for Rick, Lisa? Or is the movie Do you remember love the continuation past this point. I'm just trying to figure out if I should get the Macross English dub or not since I all ready own the re-mastered editon of Robotech.

I'll agree if you are referring to episodes 1-36. ) Then it does not matter to me if it's Macross or Robotech. This whole Macross --> Robotech thing is still new to me. Are the Macross versions longer IE have more episodes or is it a 1:1 to Robotech? Sheesh sorry I fixed it... But I do have to say that this is what I hate most about forums. Replies that don’t progress the original meaning of the post. (Just like this one) Lets drop the political correctness, and talk about the great show of Robotech.

I think I got it now. So "To The Stars" is the end for both the Macross and Robotech series except for the Do you remember love movie. (Which I just got the perfect edition off of eBay) That answered some of my other questions I had as well. I all ways wondered where the SDF-2 was.

Hello all this is my first post. I just want to say that I absolutely love the original Robotech, it's one of my fondest television shows from when I was a kid. I was on robotech.com a few days ago and saw this Macross English dub http://www.robotech.com/store/viewproduct.php?id=242 If I’m not mistaking it a 7 box 14 DVD set. (Only 3 of the boxes are out now) What I’m wondering about is; this Macross series which is / was the original Japanese that made up the first 1/3 of the American series of Robotech. Does this Macross searies follow the original crew after the destruction of the destruction of the SDF-1 in ep 36 "To The Stars� Or does it pick right back up at Dana's Story ep 37? To be honest after the first Robotech ended I never really cared for the rest. Every thing started to shift towards the weird Organic machinery style of Japanimation. I just really love the look and feel of the first Robotech. I currently own the Re mastered edition of the first Robotech and was wondering if I should get this Macross Japanese -> English. If it continues the story of the Original then I don’t care how bad the dubs are I’m getting it, if it does the above.
