Is this an ongoing problem or something fixed? Concerned about the Arcadia IFire Valk just got a couple months ago.
So far its only a problem for the original Yamato VF-19 Kai, Later releases (VF-19S/F/P) fixed the elbow shatter issue, but may still have the shoulder shatter issue as its a design problem. Be careful when handling the shoulders, especially when popping them off from the legs. That's how i snapped mine. When trying to rotate the arm at the shoulder, move the pauldrons down, pinch both edges securely, then rotate. Do not rotate the shoulder pauldron when it is angled up. Or just don't touch them, ever, and leverage the arm to rotate it.

My shoulder hinge finally cracked :') I am sorry to ask again, but how did you take apart the shoulder? Its hard to repair it with the shoulder still attached.

I guess they no longer do this, if at all XD

Still not entirely convinced yet that it's actually a retail release outside Japan, until more stores are carrying them. It's entirely possible US stores that have already listed it are just buying via proxies and reselling, like someone said what BBTS sometimes do for P-Bandai Gundams, and there won't be any legal block this time as long as the item is not from SDFM / DYRL.
Over at Asia, it looks like stores are selling it like a regular Macross P-Bandai item with appropriate proxy mark-up just like they always did for years, instead of JP-equivalent price that they normally do for other WWM items.
Yup, its not retail release here, at least not in Indonesia. It is being treated exactly like a P-Baindai item, the difference is that they can sell it overseas, unlike the VT-1.

Been mulling over this for a while, which do you think would be better, Gloss or Matte finish?
-
Its a Premium Bandai release 🙃
My local shop will usually open PO for retail items, which includes all the previous WWM releases, at the pre-order date at retail price (price is exactly as listed on tamashi web). Once they have fulfilled the PO, they will then stock the items in their stores (but with store markup). This release they have also opened a PO, but it looks like it won't be a retail release. The price is different, it is no longer 1:1 of the yen price (about 29% more expensive), and it just looks like any other P-Bandai PO where they imported it directly from Japan instead of waiting for the global retail shipment.

Decided to necro this instead of starting a new thread.
For those who have similar broken arms and are trying to take apart the arm, you might have noticed even after removing the 2 screws you still can't pull apart the arm. This is because of a hidden knurled pin acting as a 3rd screw. Just gently slowly pull apart the arms until it pops off, note its very stuck together because the end of the pin is knurled. After its off, i sanded the knurled bit on mine a little bit to make assemble/disassembly easier.

Is it too late for Valkyrie Factory to include red TV arm armor or maybe both types of arm armor?
I don't think they have the TV arm super parts. Their max and miria VF-1J Super also used DYRL arms

More video on the KOs chest connection problem: (6:55)

NO! we all go watch @jenius reviews and transformation videos!
Yeah, the KO VF-1 was my first ever V2 VF-1, and since the KOs does not include any instructions whatsoever, naturally used @jenius's transformation videos. When I get to gerwalk to battroid I panicked HARD, because following the usual method of popping the chest off like in @jenius's video does not work. Eventually i pulled down the entire chest until SNAP, it finally pegged off. The panic and worry of thinking i broke the toy... Eventually I disassembled the entire valk and found all the issues i mentioned, currently trying to fix all the issues + repainting. When I get it assembled again I might do a video highlighting and demonstrating the issues with it.

More info on my experience with the KO's
- My DYRL box missiles doesn't even tab into the wings, the peg is too thick
- The TV missiles are glued to the pylons because the pegs tolerance are bad and is loose (without glue the missiles falls right off the pylons) and the peg to the wings is undersized, so it fits loosely to the wings
- Grainy texture on some of the plastic surface (most noticeable on the legs)
- They misassembled the legs, the ratchet joints are installed reversed (left joint is installed on the right leg and right joint installed on the left leg)
-
ALL pegs are loose
- legs does not tab securely to the backpack
- arms does not tab securely together
- arms does not tab securely to the back on fighter mode (this gets frustrating with the super parts on)
- The hip swivel joint is missing a part, ergo loose
-
Hip swing bar lock on the back is missing (or undersized, maybe mine sheared off after multiple transformations).
-
You can even see on the reviews the back does not lock into the front, causing gaps when using the cavity filler

Chest locks together differently compared to yamato/arcadia, they rely completely on the chest to the back light protrusions. The metal plate does not lock into the chest, relying only on the hinge friction, this makes the nose/front section to flop up n down.
-
In the review, when he is snapping the chest off, you can see the metal plate is already "popped off" (they do not pop-in in the KOs), if this is a yamato/arcadia, the chest should easily pop off from the back already.

Unfortunately this is really how you pop the chest for battroid on the Valkyrie Factory KOs. There are slight differences on the mold and the chest tabs into the light proturions? INCREDIBLY securely, the tabs are much wider and thicker. The way the chest and everything locks is slightly different (I assume because of inaccuracies to the mold) it doesn't lock by the metal plate to the chest, popping the front metal plate off the chest does NOT pop everything off. The hip bar lock to the back for battroid is even missing, so the back and chest doesn't lock together tightly, only relying on friction on the hinges. Overall the fit and finish of the KOs are quite horrible.

Bandai's QC strikes again!
Seems they manhandled it while the matt coat isn't dry yet. And some parts of the toy seems a bit dirty
Would an additional matt topcoat hide this?

Everyone's mentioning return to mecha because its Sunrise because Gundams... But everyone seem to forget Sunrise also makes Love Live, their other big hitter (bigger than gundam?). TBH i am quite exited either way. Macross with sunrise's experience with mechas, or Macross with sunrise's amazing Love Live dance CGI. It'd be amazing if we have both 😮
repair for my VF-19

Darn, that is a lot of work and glue to fight through. Another issue of mine is the one that broke is the VF-19S's shoulder, which does not have the pin to open the speaker >.<
I did manage to repair it eventually though, using CA glue, sloppily, but hey it holds together and is mostly hidden anyway. Thank you for replying and for the images!
