Being a fan of experimental music, I got some pretty wicked deja vu listening to "Idol Talk" for the first time. That's because the phone sex call samples in it were taken from the first album by Robin Rimbaud's project Scanner, released in 1992. As the name implies, a scanner radio was used to pick up cell phone conversations (which was possible back in the early days of cell phones), which make up a lot of this album's content.
