  1. For the paint, I used Mr Color 307 and 308. Unfortunately I don't have the hi-res pix. I deleted them after resizing.
  2. Well, I'm not planning to do any aircraft models for now.
  3. I have mentioned in the post already, I used hasegawa's modeling scriber.
  4. I painted GSI Creos SM03 Super Iron first, then I painted clear orange and clear blue for the burnt effect.
  5. I used Tamiya enamel paint 'flat black' to wash the panel lines. The key is to "pre-scribe" the panel lines. This will help the paint stay in the recess when applying the wash later.
  6. This website already has the scans of the apr 2004 issue, and scans from many other issues as well.http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/magazi...an2001-2003.htm
  7. I used a total of 4 nozzles on this kit. No fabrication was needed for the handle, I just glued a piece of styrene strip in the middle of the nozzle. I think they will fit the vf-1 as well but not 100% sure since I haven't bought any other macross models beside the one I just finished.
  8. The tiny little round thing is from a Kotobukiya option set called "vernier nozzle III", link They are plastic and come in different sizes, the smallest one fits right with the macross kit.
  9. Honestly, most of them aren't really my ideas, I "stole" them from the Apr 2004 issue of Hobby Japan.
  10. The land gears and gear bays were also detailed using thin styrene strips. A lot of puttying and sanding needed before painting All the panel lines and rivets were deepened using hasegawa's modeling scriber.
  11. Here are some WIP pics. Photo-etched seat belts were added. The emergency ejection pull handles were made by a thin brass rod. The part in the green circle was Kotobukiya's option parts. I fill the gaps around the head with some styrene strips. The intake covers were extended with styrene strips. The airbrake was thinned and holes were drilled. The magnet method to attach the fast packs was learned from wm cheng's post. I scatch built this part with 0.3mm styrene sheets to replace the original part (green circle). The insides of the burners were detailed with thin styrene strips.
  12. Hi, everyone. I started this project way back in 2004, after working on it on and off for around three and a half years, my very first marcross model is finally done! I chose to paint it in a low-visibility scheme instead of the original one. I didn't do any weathering since I like models to be clean and neat. I replaced the original HUD part with a piece of thin clear plastic sheet. I also added a Wave h-eyes for the projector lens.
  13. Hi, I've been doing Gundam models for over 3 years now and decided to try something different. This is my first try on an aircraft model. Hasegawa's quality is not as good as Bandai's. Most parts don't fit very well. cockpit + seat detailing. I added photo etched seat belts, ejection handles. I used some styrene stripes to fill the gaps around the head area. Thanks to wm cheng, his idea of using magnets to attach the fast packs to the legs is great! Here is what I have done so far, still a long way to go. I will try to update it when I have time.
