A boon because shopping there is also a mini-game of trying to fill up a box as much as possible to reduce unit shipping cost.. A curse because in trying to fill up the box, it is a gateway to other excellent toylines that were never in my radar. More plastic crack!

Can you expand on this? "a mini-game of trying to fill up a box as much as possible to reduce unit shipping cost." Because from what I've saw, if you go via DHL the more volume the pricier the shipment, no?

  2. I've just ordered for the first time in my life. I sent it to the US via DHL. Shipping was... passble. It was about 75 dollar so it was ok for a 200 dollar figure. And I still saved about 50 to 60 bucks of the cheapest price I found in ebay. (I actually made 2 purchases and had big savings in one and came out even in the other). Bought it last thursday. Today it's already in the US and it's scheduled to be delivered to my US werehouse on friday.  So I can't comment on the items status untill I actually have it shipped here to Argentina (where I live).

Oops, sorry, copy and pasted faster than thinking.  One more piece of advice, try your glue on a piece of the runner before you glue anything together.  Some glues react really badly to some plastics, the worst being Revell type that comes in a blue bottle with the metal applicator needle.  This stuff makes the Bandai ABS brittle and just destroys it.

Thank you! I'll keep that in mind

    Good info @Darth Mingus

I’ve been looking at these kits lately , they look pretty good. I would probably paint mine rather than use stickers,  although the stickers probably do ok.

Hey @aarelovich the eBay prices for these are still quite expensive, considering  what Hobby Search is selling them for. At that rate you can buy my Yamato 1/15 Garland for a little more:p

Huh? Where I have not seen these kits being sold anywhere other than Ebay (Including Hobby Search). And besides I'm the proud owner of a Yamato Garland Myself, just that its not red, its the silver version (they were MUCH cheaper than any of the other versions). And brand new to boot.

I wanted to get the model so that I could have a red version. My only other option is arcadia but that is about 300 bucks with shipping. So no thanks.

@Darth Mingus Thank you for the reply. I have seen the review you mention, even though it is for the proto garland. But I did nto know about the dotted and thin lines. As I'm new to gumpla and modelling in general. I have the cement you mention altough it is for another brand as there is no tamiya stuff in Argentina. So thanks!

PS: I've seen the youtube video review. Your first link is a for a non-trasnforming car from another anime series.

  5. Hi. Just to be clear this is the kit I'm referring to: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10063592

I can get my hands on one of this kits. And from what I've seen it has almost perfect transformation. But mosto of my experience has been building Gunpla, Super Mini Pla and some Moderoid/GoodSmileCompany kits. So a couple of questions

    1) How much glue does it require? How do you know where to apply it? Do you need to wait a while after joining each piece?

    2) Do I need to pain it? Or does it come with color plastic (this seems to be a no, base don the pictures in the link, but I've seem some pictures fo the plastic with NO color whatsoever).

Any thoughts or reviews?  Even a ebay prices it is a HELL of a lot cheaper than an ES Gokin or a Arcadia garland... so....

I have plans to translate Macross VFX-2 fully in english, also I'm already in the works to translate Macross 7 Gameboy color. Translating Macross 30 is a possibility only if the previous two projects aren't complete failures among fans. (a.k.a no donations)

I can understand translating a GameBoy and PSX Games as emulators for these are easy to come by and todays computers handle them quite well. But how would you go about making a PS3 Game? Even if you translate it, how would you play it?

No offense meant. But this section is dedicated to official toys and merchs. Anything pertaining to stores, we do have a section - Where to Buy.

    http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/forum/13-where-to-buy-macross-auctions-amp-dealers-specials/

And here's a thread dedicated to Mandarake.

Just sayin'. Anyways, hope the links should help.

I'm very sorry. New to the forum and did not know this.

Thank you for your words. I just wanted to know a few more details.

First is what happens when you add too cart two different items? Do they get shipped together or as individual packages?

Second, I've read the Registered SAL packages have only "partial tracking" what does this mean?

    Thank you and regards.

  8. I've seen somethings that I want in Madarake that have peaked my interest. However say I search for a YF-29 DX. I have several and ALL item descriptions seem to be the same. How do I know if it is used, new or what?

Is it safe to buy? How does it wokr? Same as ebay

Also, SAL shipment is a lot cheaper, however I cannto order stuff to my country without tracking, as am I am unable to get it from customs. Does SAL Shipping come with a tracking number?

    Thanks for the info

  9. Question? I've recently found out about this game. I was a HUGE fan of VFX-2 for the playstation one. I do own a PS3.  So actually a couple of questions

    1) Would you recommend this game? How bad is it if you don't undertand the japanese?

    2) Anyone know where I could get a cheap copy?

  10. As the topic, says. Is there anyway to see the original series subtitled?

I'm not sure what the policies on piracy are in this forum, as I'm new. But I'm from Argentina and the options for streaming and buying content are very limited (I'm suscribed to as many streaming sites as they'll let me). Netflix even has robotech, but I want the original Macross version.

    I'd appreciate any help.

There are some older 1/100 and 1/72 transforming VF-1 series kits as well. And the Bandai 1/100 transforming VF-2SS from Macross II. Nothing from Hasegawa or Wave transforms that I know of.

I didn't know about the 1/100 Transforming VF2SS. Can you provide a link so I can know what I'm looking for?

I built Basara's VF-19 not long ago (the Bandai 1/100 version). It was a fun build. Parts are molded in color, so I didn't even bother painting it. Just snapped the parts together and applied the included stickers.

If you have any questions about it, please let me know

Yes I do. Can you comment on the leg articulation? Is there any which way?

  13. Hi, I'm new to the comunity but not to Macross.

I want to start collecting, at least one example of each of my favourite Valkyries. My favourite desing by far is the VF-19 (doesn't matter which one). However getting any transforming well proportioned toys for this means expending exhorbitants amounts of money.

However I can get the Macross 7 1/100 VF-19s for about 50 bucks, which is more than reasonable. I know it has a little bit of parts forming (not Ideal as I'm a perfect transformation nut) and I also like the look of the three modes.

However I cannot find a review ANYWHERE for it. And I would like to know how is its articulation, especially in the legs.

On another note: The bandai 1/72 kits and these macross 7 kits are the ONLY transforming kits, right?

    Thanks for any info!
